IPhone thinks Bluetooth is still active

My wife and I have identical iPhone 4s' with iOS 5.1, but...
She has her iPhone paired to the bluetooth in a Subaru Forester and the connection is fine, mp3s play thru the speakers, etc...the problem is that when she turns off the vehicle and goes inside, the iPhone has no volume for ringers/games/etc...  I have to either turn off Bluetooth, or play an mp3, which will provide a dropdown in the lower right-hand corner to select "iPhone", "CAR MEDIA" or cancel.  When I select iPhone, then the volume is back.
I paired my phone, as she did and did the same exact steps, but the bluetooth connection is terminated and sounds are present w/o having to turn off bluetooth or select "iPhone" as needed above.
I have compared all the settings and I can't find anything that is different.  Any ideas?

Tell her to contact her carrier and get a new phone number.

  • How can I stop someone from receiving iMessages on their old disconnected iPhone, w'hich is still active in iMessage, when the number now belongs to someone else with a non apple device!?!

To further clarify my dilemma ....
A friend of mine just got a new phone number on her LG cell phone.
When I try to text her, my messages are going to someone else's iPhone.
The iPhone has been deactivated off the VZ cell network, but they are still using it on WIFI.
They used to have this number on their iPhone, and it's still active in iMessage.
So, when I try to send a text message to my friend on her LG, from my iPhone,
they instead go to this total stranger, cuz they still have that number active in their iMessage account.
    This is a serious issue!!
The only suggestion I get from apple support is to have my friend get a new number, or for me to turn off iMessage when I want to text her.
    Not really the optimum solution.
Something really should be done to prevent this from happening!
Strangers are effectively intercepting text messages!
    Help!?!

Tell her to contact her carrier and get a new phone number.

  • I remove the password generated by yahoo for my iphone and mail is still active!

I installed 'second sign-in verification' on my Yahoo! account, and then generated a password for my iPhone.
First strange thing after that is that my yahoo mail account was still working. I removed the yahoo account and re-installed it and this time I had to use the password generated by Yahoo.
Now if you loose your iPhone, Yahoo explains that you should sign on to your PC or Mac and remove this generated password so no one can access your mail on your stolen or lost iPhone ( that's  what I installed 'second sign-in verification' ). So I gave it a try, removed it from Yahoo but my Yahoo account on my iPhone is STILL ACTIVE!!! I can send and receive messages, no problem at all.
So your yahoo account is absolutely not protected. This is a major security problem. Please help.

s it possible for apple to provide me with the last coordinates that my phone was at?
    No
I didn't have find my iPhone and iCloud was not active.
Not smart.  Then all you can do is physically look for it.
is it possible to look at data such as pictures by plugging it into their computer??
    no

  • Buying iPhone 5s on Craigslist still activated?

I Was looking to buy a new phone off craigslist and I've never done this so I don't want to get scammed. I seen one I was interested in and contacted the seller about it, I asked for the IMEI number to checked if the phone was blacklisted or stolen. they gave me the number with no problem, it says it's not blacklisted but it's still activated with ATT, I asked the seller about it they said tthey have 3 lines on their account only using 2 and ATT uses sim cards so as long as the phone is not icloud clocked I'll be fine. Is this right? I don't want to buy something and it end up being useless. It's an iPhone 5s.

Buying a phone in a country which will not be its home is penny-wise and pound-foolish.  You don't know if it is locked, you don't know if Facetime works, you don't know if it will work on all frequency bands in England, and you'll have no warranty in England.  There are many folks posting on this forum who regret doing what you are contemplating...

  • IPhone thinks headphones are still in

after the first time i worked out after the update, i unplugged my headphones and the phone wouldn't have sound and i kept messing with it and it thinks my headphones r still in! i toggled some switches, changed some settings back and forth and it worked. then it started doing it again...very annoying and sometimes the text sound won't finish all the way. sometimes it'll stop playing my ipod for no reason?

You need to plug and unplug your headphones about 8 times....to see if that fixes the issue. I have heard of that happening to others....where the iPhone still thinks the headphones are still in and this fixes it for them.

  • Iphone thinks it's not activated??

This has happened to me twice. I turn the phone on, and I see a picture of the sync cable pointing to an iTunes icon. The only option I have is to slide the slider to make an emergency call.
The first time it happened, I was at home, and connected the phone to my Mac, and did a sync. That seemed to make it happy.
The second time, this afternoon, I was out in the world. I held down the sleep button until the "slide to power off" slider appeared. I powered off, and then powered back on. It took longer than normal to boot. Finally I got a message that said something like "phone is now activated."
Huh? I've had the phone for three weeks now. What gives? The idea that I can end up stuck somewhere with a nonfuntioning iPhone is not comforting. Also, my iPod library was now gone. Had to re-sync it with iTunes once I got back home.
Has anyone else had this happen?
    Thanks,
    DM

This has been reported by several users, including me. I just reset (not restart) and that seems to solve it. It's happened to me randomly about 4 times in 6 months.
iPhone reset: press the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

    You never used your iPhone?
    You never logged into iTunes?
Your AppleID & Password for iCloud&  iPhone should be the same AppleID &Password you used to log in here and post a message.

  • Moved house but iPhone/iPad think I am still in old house

I have recently moved house, about 2 km from my old house, yet both my iPhone 5 and iPad 2 (wi-fi only) think I am still at the old location.  This is apparent in any app that uses the GPS function, such as Maps, Google Maps, Wundermap, Saga and Foursquare.  I have been in the new house for a week.  Anything I have to do to get all my IOS devices to correctly recognise where I am?

It's the location of your WiFi access point that is causing the wrong location. Presumably, when you moved you took your WiFi router with you?
That router is in Apple's database of locations at the old house. In time, your iPhone (and others around it via crowdsourcing WiFi hotspot locations) will report your routers location as having moved to where it is now.
There's nothing you can do to speed up this process, except make sure your iPhone's Location Services are turned on, and it connects to this WiFi router regularly.
Your iPhone should report its correct location using aGPS alone if you turn off WiFi when it does its initial location look-up.

  • I have a new iPhone and when it was activated at the store I had not saved my pictures from the old phone.  Is there a way to still do this?

  • Canadian iPhone in USA thinks I'm still in canada

I have a Canadian bought iPhone 5. I moved to the USA and my phone always defaults to google.ca, my map thinks I'm still in Canada (even with location services on) and Siri searches for businesses and whatever else in Canada. I've restored my phone multiple times and still nothing has happened. Is there some setting that changes the phone from Canada to USA ?
    Thanks,
    Colby

If you have a problem with it, there is nothing that can be done until you return to the US.  The warranty on an iPhone is only valid in the country in which it was sold.  Apple will not provide service, replacement or support in another country.
