IPhone through Car

Well, I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to connect my iPhone charger through car lighter usb charger and make my music working on the speaker of the car instead of the iphone? My car doesnt have this new things out there and I was wondering if it is possible.

Your charger can very likely charge the iPhone using the car lighter.
That has nothing to do with music, however.
To get music from your iPhone to your car's speakers, you would need a 3.5mm speaker input port on your car.  If you had one, then you could connect the 3.5mm audio port from your iPhone to your car.  Otherwise, you would need Bluetooth.

  • Playing iPhone Through Car Stereo

Tragically, the tape deck on my 2000 Ford Mustang pooped out the other day. I had been using a cassette adapter to play my iPhone/iPod for years, and now I'm stuck. I know people who have the adapters that play through the radio, but I live in a big city (Washington, DC) and there's occasional static which I find very annoying.
It's an old car, so I can't connect the iPhone directly to the stereo without spending some serious money on a new stereo. Has anyone had a good experience with a certain iPhone car adapter? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would go with a cheap stereo from BestBuy with an aux jack and use an aux cable.

  • Using Iphone through car stereo

I just had delivery of a brand new Honda Civic and opted for an upgrade to an Ipod Aux connection so i can play my ipod through the car stereo. As i plugged in my iphone it said that the Iphone was not compataible!
Does anyone here have any advise about what i need to do to get my Iphone to work? is there any software or should i get Honda to change the cable or something?

I just got my iPhone a few days ago and I use a Kensington LiquidAUX. It plugs into your lighter and charges your iPhone and has a aux line that plugs into your cars aux in. Sounds great and I have a 1 hour commute to work on way. So I get a full charge to work, watch vids at lunch and a full charge on the way home. Also it has a wireless remote that attaches to your steering wheel to control play back, I love that part. You can find it on Apple's site but do a search and you can find it cheaper. You will see some reviews that say the plastic cover on the plug comes apart. But I use a Pro Clip holder for my iPhone and the plug clamps into the holder turning into a dock, so my plug can't come apart.

Thanks, this was the clue I needed to figure it out.
From Settings you can pull up Control Center.
In Control Center you can enable "Access from within Apps" (also "Access from Lockscreen")
Now when I'm playing music, I can swipe up from the bottom and a little control center window slides up. Neat - this is new since my old iPod. On this window, the name of the current Bluetooth connection appears. Tap on that, and a list of connected Bluetooth items appears. I just tap on the one I want to connect to and I am now playing through the speakers I want.

Click the "Upgrade Eligibility" link on the right side (under "Learn more about buying iPhone) here:

If you're not eligible for upgrade, it will tell you how much more than US$199 you will be charged.

  • How to play a music on my iPhone through my car radio ??

I want to play a song on my iPhone through my car radio but not via an FM adapter. I don't want to connect anything. If there is an application, I can search for any station on this application and the same station on the radio so It will connect automatically. For example, the station number on the application is ( 100.06 ) so I have to search for the same satation number ( 100.06 ) on the radio to play the songs on my iPhone.
    Thanks alot for your time.

You can use Bluetooth devices that are either integrated into the car or purchased separately. This might look something like: iPhone > Bluetooth wireless signal > Bluetooth receiver > wired analog audio plugged into car stereo AUX port.
If you don't have built-in Bluetooth or an AUX port, you will need an FM transmitter, some of which are wireless but do need to connect to the iPhone directly.

  • Play music on iphone through bluetooth in car

Can I play music stored on my iphone through the bluetooth in my car? It is paired and I can use the phone - no problems there.

I've sorted this to an extent. It seems if iPod is 'running' - ie i've played a tune and hit pause - it will connect to the head unit and start playing automatically. If i've not "run" iPod since switching the phone on then it's not possible to select 'streaming' on the Blaupunkt.
It's good enough but I'm sure it's not how it's meant to work.

  • Playing my iPhone through the car stereo

I am looking for a new car stereo and the biggest feature I want is to be able to play music off of my iPhone on it. Almost every model I've looked at says it plays wma/mp3/aac. Most of my music files are mp3s, but the last few CDs I ripped in .m4a (Apple loseless). After researching it, I kind of have the impression that m4as are converted to aac, and will be played, but cannot for the life of me find a place that definitively says this. Can anyone help me out?

Not sure if this info is necessary, but some players connect to the iPhone through the headphone jack, some through USB, and most can do either.

  • I'm using iTunes Match now, can I no longer manage the music on my iPhone through a playlist on my computer in iTunes?

I used to pick and choose the music I wanted to take up the storage space on my iPhone through iTunes on my computer (note: not on my phone). Now that I use iTunes Match, the only way to delete songs seems to be to use my iPhone and swipe on whichever artists or songs I want to delete. Can I no longer use a playlist in iTunes to choose which music takes up the storage space? Let me know.. I still want to be able to play a song I haven't synched up to my phone through iTunes Match if I need to, though, so I don't want to just turn it off (plus I paid $25 for it...). Thanks!!

    A few things:
    1) By default, iTunes Match puts *nothing* on your iPhone. It just lists the songs that are in the cloud, and you can download them if you choose to. It seems like that's what you want, but you say you're not getting it. You don't have to delete everything you don't want. On the contrary: You have to download everything you do want. I'm confused.
Basically, my phone is already completely full (32GBs) of music and a few high def videos at the moment. I *want* about 24GBs of music on my phone right now. I *have* about 28 on there. It is nice to have that 24GBs of music on my phone because iTunes Match doesn't work perfectly - sometimes if I am driving, and I click play on a song I want to hear that isn't on my phone, it takes 20-40 seconds to start to play (with songs/mixes over 30 minutes, this can be several minutes). I want to keep a lot of songs on my phone, permanently, all the time, and choose songs to add to that permanent list as I choose/download them.
Maybe this will make it a little bit clearer, I realize this isn't the easiest thing to describe and I've had a few beers: I downloaded (by clicking play on my phone) songs I don't want to take up space on my phone. I clicked play on them, on my phone, while driving in my car. Heard that song once, now I don't want to hear it again for awhile, and I certainly don't want it taking up my precious space on my phone. Now imagine this situation times 100 or so.. that's 100 different songs (a few of them very long mixes) on my phone that I have to go in and manually delete by swiping. I want to do it from my computer.. it'd be way easier to find them and delete them.
Anyway, I think the answer is that there isn't a way to manage my music with iTunes Match enabled on my computer. No big deal, I guess, just suggesting there should be easier ways.
    2) You actually don't need iTunes Match to redownload a song that you forgot to sync over, as long as it's a song you purchased in iTunes. Anyone (match subscriber or not) can redownload iTunes-purchased music, tv shows, apps, and books right from the device in the iTunes app.
I have never downloaded a song from iTunes, so this doesn't apply.
    3) In your mind, what are the features of iTunes Match on the iPhone other than makin your entire library accessible for download from the cloud? As far as my logic takes me, if you want to manually control what's on it, you specifically don't want iTunes Match enabled, and I don't see any other reason you would want it enabled.
The only feature I am using iTunes Match for is to download music I haven't synced to my phone, onto my phone. I just want to be able to delete it later from my computer. I guess I want to be able to see the songs I have downloaded since the last sync so that I could easily delete those songs.. Yes, that would be a good solution.

  • Why not use iPhone in car as active noise canceller.

The iPhone uses noise cancellation during conversations. Why not make that available in the car through the car audio to quiet the interior at all times?

I have one of those stereos bought from Ebay, no badge, no name, and with multitude of functions, and a mic attached to my visor. Once it is paired with Iphone, all my music and calls go through the car stereo.
for applications that do not direct Audio through BT such as CoPilot (GPS navigation) I connect the Iphone through headset socket and into the stereo AUX input and works great (all sounds, voice, calls) go through it. One disadvantage of this method is that I can't listen to the radio. Well you cannot have it all. Or perhaps there is a Radio application where it plays in the background while I still use my GPS application.

  • Connecting music through car bluetooth kit

I can successfully conect my iPhone to my car using a blueooth car kit (Volvo). This is fine for telephone calls and is marvelous. My problem is how do I connect the ipod function and hear my music through the car audio system. Is it something I need to do to the iPhone or to the bluetooth car kit. There is no obvious connection and the car kit gives no advice in the hand book so I am worried that it may not be possible. Any successful experiences and if so, what do I need to do?

    Hi,
In our Volvo V50 Edition II (Netherlands, 2008) we have the iPod connector option installed and it works great with my iPhone and iPod Nano (3rd gen). It's well worth the price and you can control your iPhone through the steering wheel and/or the audio system. You can browse through songs, folders, artists and playlists.
The bluetooth carkit is a Motorola IHF1000 (at least I think it is) which mutes the audio when calls are made.
With the Volvo iPod connector you will get an iPod connector and also an USB connector, the last one for connecting USB memory sticks with your favorite MP3's.

  • IPhone and car audio

Newbie here. Like most people i'm going to ante up and buy the iPhone 3g tomorrow. One key reason is that i can store all my music and replace my CDs in my car stereo. I'm going to purchase a car stereo that has and ipod connection, though I've got several questions regarding the phone use while it is connected to the stereo.
    1) Can someone tell me what happens when you're playing music on your iPhone through your car deck and the phone rings?
    2) Do I have to always have a bluetooth headset on to answer the phone when it's connected to my car stereo? Or can I pick the phone up and use the handset?
    3) Does the music pause and let me answer the phone?
    4) Or do I have to disconnect the phone and manually answer the line?
    5) When I finish my call will the music resume where (if it can) paused?
Sorry to be so long winded, but the music integration into my car audio is a key feature I like; and if I can do both with just an iPhone that would be great.
    Thanks in advance

You'll be happy with the way it works.
When the phone rings, the music pauses and you can answer the phone using either your earset or directly talking into the phone. If the earset is connected via bluetooth you will see a screen on the phone allowing you to select iPhone instead of bluetooth as your choice of interfaces. When you hang up the call the music will automatically resume where it left off.
If you do not have the bluetooth device in the car with you the phone behaves the same way, except it does not ask you if you want to use bluetooth or directly talk into the phone.
Bottom line is it works intuitively and I believe it will do just what you are hoping it will.
