IPhone to Mac iMessage
My Mac is not finding my phone number, it is only finding my email address. I cannot figure out how to fix this. Any ideas? I've already tried disabling and re-enabling.
You might need to try opening Messages on your Mac, going to Messages>Preferences>Accounts, selecting your iCloud account, then clicking Sign Out, then sign back in. Also confirm that you are using the same iCloud ID as your phone.

My iPhone is getting left out of the conversation when using iMessage to talk to other iPhones. I can messgage other phones just fine from any device, including the Mac. However, once that conversation ends and Mac is shut down, if that person messges me again, it gets picked up by my iPad (and archived on the Mac) but never makes it to my iPhone. They devices are then out of sync. I've tried to adjust the "Caller ID" setting on the iPhone to both the phone number and iCloud address, but the behavior doesn't change.
What am I missing here?Bumping. I've tried a variety of changes in the preferences, but just does not work. I've got iMessages that are ending up going to all devices but the iPhone...so either there is something wrong with the setup or the service does not work properly. Any direct experience on how to fix would be appreciated...thanks!

I want to use iCloud for every thing else except for Messages. I do not want to send an iMessage and receive it on both my iPhone and Mac.

If I understand you correctly, you want to limit to limit your use of the Messages application to non-iCloud sources such as text messaging through your phone carrier, is that right?
You can turn off the use of iMessages in Settings > Messages > iMessage. See this help article -

And I have a question: how can I send a message to an IPad or IPod or Mac or IPhone from IPhone and Mac?
ThanksTo send from the iPhone to the mac or Ipad you need an email address to send to, instead of a phone number.
on the iPad or mac you need to setup Messages. I do not have mesages on the mac and do not have an iPad but I have set it up on my iPod Touch and I assume it is similar.
Settings>Messages>
> iMessage > ON
> Send Read Reveipts > ON or OFF your choice
> Received At > [email protected]
Enter your valid email address in the "Received At" field.
As long as the email is valid it should work, and I assume you will need a different email for the iPad and Mac. -
Is it possible to transfer existing messages from iPhone to Mac using the new iMessage app?

You can take screen shots of the messages on the iPhone, and then transfer the Camera Roll screen shots to your Mac.

Associate your mobile numbers with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

I accidentally clear my iMessage conversations in my macbook pro(OS X 10.10.1), will it clear also my iPhone and iPad iMessage conversations as well?

The messages on my Iphone and Mac don't match, My Mac is lacking messages. Do they only show if the sender has an iPhone, trying to figure out if thats what the missing names have in common, or if it a different problem?
Messages on the mac will only show iMessages sent from an iPhone, another mac, iPad etc etc...
It won't show SMS / Text messages.
If the messages are green on your iphone then they are text messages... Blue are iMessages -
Why is the message app popping up on my mac when everything has been disabled on my iphone and mac as per the instructions all over this forum, I use my phone for messages, not my mac. Is this a bug? I just want it off my mac forever!

Saving voice memos from iphone to mac
Hi all,
I've read a couple of threads re synching voice memos from my iphone to my mac. And i've followed the instructions (i.e. clicking the "include voice memos" under the synch music section in itunes). Trouble is when the synch runs and i go into itunes library to find the voice memos i cant find them. I've searched by typing in "voice memo" as well as manually searching through the entire library. The voice memos are still safely on my iphone, but not in my itunes library. Any clues?You can transfer voice memos from iPhone to Mac by emailing:
Open the voice memo app and select the recording you want to transfer, then tap on the Share icon in the left corner under the Play button. Now you have the option to send it as a Mail.
Choose Mail then fill in the relevant details and hit send. This is fine for the occasional memo, but if you have several that you want to do at once - or have long recordings whose files sizes are not inbox friendly - then the best solution is to use iPhone Transfer for Mac. -
I have itunes set up on a PC with all my music, apps, etc. I want to stop using PC and move my iTunes and files to a Mac I bought and synch my iPhone with the Mac. Can I just synch iPhone with Mac iTunes and will it copy all my stuff onto Mac, or will I have to copy files from PC onto Mac?

i changed my sim on my iPhone n reconfigured iMessage, it configured with my number but when i sign in with my apple id it says username/password is wrong while in all other things like FaceTime, App Store it worked with the same id and password..
can anyone help me to solve this issuei just opened my ipad, started my apple account/I.D. and realized I put the wrong e mail. I was having trouble correcting my I.D on the Ipad so I went to my laptop and make the proper changes/slash e mail address I wanted for my apple ID. I got back to my ipad and try to download an app I can't because I have to sign in my apple account and I can't because it still has the irrelivant I.D/email address..
So, i did what you said.. went to setting>app store> tapped on my e mail.. it asked me to sign in (with my invalid emails address showing). I signed in with the password I had created. It said "incorrect".. I went to reset password. I reset password, tried to sign in and it says again "unvalid password".. this is getting irritating. I have been asking and no one knows what to do. -

It's because you are both using the same iTunes Library on your computer and you are both using the same Apple ID on each phone.
One of you must start a new computer user account and get a new Apple ID. Then start operating on the ocmputer from the new account. He/she will also need to restore their phone from the new account and using the new Apple ID. This way everything on each of your phones will remain separate.
