IPhone TO Mobileme TO iPhoto

The chains of events is this
Take pictures with iPhone......
Upload to a mobileme gallery.......
then later when at home, open laptop, sync phone, importing all pictures taken that day
Launch iphoto...... hoping to see new album appear under mobileme gallery..... but no!!
Am I missing something, or are galleries created on the iPhone not going to appear in iPhoto.

I just tried this, and I was able to see the folder in iPhoto after I closed and reopened it.
I made sure that I selected the option Syncs with "iPhoto" from the drop-down menu.
Then I closed and reopened iPhoto and it was there.
After that I tried to make another folder with me.com, but i didn't see that drop-down menu....
Strange. I had to refresh the page before I could see that menu again.
Try to recreate another folder, and watch for that drop-down menu.
Also, make sure that MobileMe syncing is turned on on your computer (I am assuming that you have already done this, but it never hurts the troubleshooting process to double check).

SOME Contacts Not Being Pushed From iPhone to MobileMe

Some of my contacts aren't being pushed from my iPhone to MobileMe. Some aren;t being pushed from MobileMe to my iPhone. I have 51 contacts on my iPhone and 35 on my MobileMe. If i create a new contact on MobileMe it might be pushed or might not. Same goes with iPhone.
Anyone got any ideas or having the same problem? Im just using the internet based contacts because I'm on Vista

One thing to try.
Export the photo, from iphoto, that will not sync to the iphone.
Make sure the file name has an extension. (something like .jpg or .bmp)
Import the photo back into iphoto.
Now try syncing the photo to the iphone.

I am trying to download my photos from my iphone to my mac-iphoto. It keeps trying but about halfway through it says there is an error with a photo therefore it wont download any of my pictures or videos. It wont tell me which picture is the issue.

Try using Image Capture to download to a folder on the Desktop. If there's a damaged file on the iPhone that's preventing the download you can isolate it with Image Capture and then delete it from the iPhone.

I was really surprised about iTunes. It has option 'iPhone -> Photos -> Sync with iPhoto'. iTunes is so cool and can sync data through WI-FI so I am happy I don't need to plug-in iPhone to Mac with cable.
But this option works only one way. So I can sync images from iPhoto to my iPhone, but can not do it other direction.
I know I can do it with cable and iPhoto but it's stupid: use iTunes to copy data from Mac to iPhone and iPhoto to copy photos from iPhone to Mac. Furthermore iTunes is integrated with iPhoto and iTunes can talk to my iPhone without cable and internet just using WI-FI network.
I know I can copy my photos using iCloud and My Photo Stream, but it's so complicated, it uses my traffic, it stores my personal data on external servers. I don't like it.
I would be very happy if you can implement this feature. So I can go home and be sure my photos is already on my Mac cause I am using the same WI-FI network and it was copied by iTunes automatically.

How do you play videos from iPhone that are in iPhoto they show up as pictures not videos

made a video on iphone and synced to iphoto on imac. I can view the video on my mac but they do not sync to my ipad or to apple tv. do the videos need to be converted? should be seemless if the video is recorded on an apple device.

I can't offer any insight into Apple's policies (and discussion of them is not permitted by the ToU of the forum), but a simple solution to your problem is Dropbox.

Have you ever had all 7 of them synced before? Are these ringtones you made yourself? Is there a chance they could exceed 30 seconds in length? Is there a chance you have moved the original file location on the computer? May need the answers to a couple more questions to try and determine an answer.

I also had the same issue. I upgraded my iPhone 3Gs to the new software about a week ago. Yesterday the photos on my phone were blurry. I "googled" the issue and ended up here. Synced my phone and now all is well! thanks for the help.

Sorry, you question doesn't make sense. If you're trying to import photos, in your camera roll, to iPhoto, iPhoto doesn't import them twice.

MobileMe and iPhoto Originals

Hello,
Using mobileme via the browser, I created a new album and published photos; I check the option to sync with iPhoto (since I wasn't my MBP).
When I opened iPhoto, I could see the albums in the MobileMe section. I could see the photos "processing," which I took as downloading (synching) from MobileMe to iPhoto. I didn't do anything further. This was a couple weeks ago.
Recently, I tried to add faces to the photos. Option was not available. I tried to locate the photos in events; not available. Then, I tried to locate the originals for editing while using finder and showing the package contents of iPhoto; I couldn't. Last, I went back to iPhoto and right-clicked one of the photos from the MobileMe gallery album, selected Show File. The photos have indeed been downloaded from my MobileMe gallery, however, to a different user account on the MBP.

me > Pictures > iPhoto LIbrary > Originals > 2010 > 'not found'
other user > Pictures > iPhoto LIbrary > Originals > 2010 > Boston 'found'
Thoughts on what is causing this?
And, how can I correct this or prevent the photos from downloading to a different user account on the MBP; whom is not a MobileMe user?
I thought about just moving the original folders where the photos are, but want to know why this happened and how I can prevent it further.

In the iPhoto preferences remove all references to MM. Likewise in the system preferences

Sharing Contacts with IPhones and MobileMe

My friend and I need to share contacts. We both have Iphones and MobileMe accounts, but I have an IMac and he has a PC. I know how to share my address book with him using Mac OS and MobileMe, but how can I get access to his contacts?

Thanks, both were checked, but I decided to turn off contacts on on the iPad, kept contacts, then turned on again. That worked at least so far. Thanks for helping me get my brain working!!

Playing iphone 4 vids in iphoto '09?

I have a feeling there might be a simple solution to this, but....
So I shot some short videos on my iphone 4. They look great when played on the phone. They look great when I airplay them to Apple TV (2). However, when I import them to iphoto '09 (v. 8.1.2) on my macbook and then play them, they have lots of problems: video freezes while audio continues, blotchy/pixleated, freezes or crashes, etc.
The vids I export from the iphone 4 to facebook, youtube, etc. look fine, but the same vids when exported from iphoto look quite crap.
How do I get the videos onto the macbook so they look right? Is it an import problem? Is there a conversion necessary?

Good to hear that you are now seeing the iPhoto videos in the Events Library - thank you for letting us know.
Each time iMovie is opened it will look for any new video clips in your iPhoto Library. If any are found, iMovie will ask if you want to generate thumbnails now or leave until later. I always let iMovie generate the thumbnails, rather than deferring it, as it doesn't take very long for these incremental updates. Yours took over 1 hour because it was possibly the first time iMovie had worked through the process.
You may wish to consider importing your video directly to iMovie Events, rather than first importing to iPhoto. It's more efficient to work with normal Events than with the iPhoto Videos Event, mainly in regard to organizing the Events Library. But then again, you may have a particular reason for importing video to iPhoto, rather than simply using iMovie for all your video.
EDIT: I mainly import iPhone video clips to iPhoto - just those sent to me by my daughter. It is a handy place to keep stuff that you haven't shot yourself, and which doesn't require editing. I've set mine up in iPhoto in a Smart Folder named Movies.

IPhone photos to iMac iPhoto

I have a new 3GS. It will not email my iPhone photos nor can I import them into my iMac running iLife 08 and OS 10.5.7. The iPhone shows up in iPhoto on the iMac but it says there are no photos on it when there are. I did not have this problem with either my previous 3G or 2G.

How are you attempting to email the photos? The mot direct way is the Share function in the Photos app .. though that will give you 800x600 version. Or you can copy them there and paste them into an email. But there are known problems emailing photos via Yahoo.
If I open iPhoto and plug in my 3GS, the photos appear in iPhoto. If not operator error, perhaps your 3GS has a problem.
