IPhone to PC syncro of iTunes downloads
I bought 2 music albums on my iPhone and, as usual, they have automatically been added to my iTunes on my PC. Unfortunately, it seems the downloading to my PC has been unsucessful, as some songs do not play properly on my PC. I have tried syncronizing my computer and my iPhone, but the PC files are still corrupted, whereas the iPhone ones play just fine. How can I force syncronization from my iPhone to my PC?

Thanks paulcb..The link is very useful. I can see that in my case Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed in Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus Controller and I can see Iphone mentioned under Other devices..I followed the steps but a dialog ox appears saying .."Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it".
Please suggest how to resolve it.

So I have a new iphone. It was working fine, I had loaded my old iphone's last backup onto it.
Then it tried to update the software to the new IOS.
Now its stuck in restore mode, itunes downloads the 800mb update, then does nothing with it and wants to start the restore from the beginning.

I have lost my iphone recently. I have purchase a lot of apps in my itune account for the original iphone. Can I syn all my old data in itune and load my purchase in itune to my new iphone ( not yet buy)
Do you mean that I need to buy the apps for my new iPhone if that apps have been transfered and install in my old lost iPhone?
If you bought apps using iTunes on your computer, or you bought them on the iPhone, then transferred them to the computer, they will have copies on your computer. When you sync your new iPhone, iTunes will copy those apps to the new iPhone.
If you had purchased some apps on the old iPhone and did not transfer them to the computer, you can purchase them again. If you use the same iTunes account as the original purchase, you will not be charged again. -
I have an apple iphone 4 that I want to download audio books from my library onto. I cannot figure out how to do that. The iphone does not show up on my mac laptop as a connected device. Does this kind of download have to run through itunes? Thanks
Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. It's not referencing your iTunes version. It's referencing your device's iOS version. An iPhone 3G has a maximum iOS of 4.2.1. If an app requires an iOS higher than that, it will not work on your iPhone 3G.

when I plug my iPhone in to my computer, iTunes doesn't recognize it as a device. I have deleted and re-downloaded iTunes twice which seems to fix the problem temporarily but then the next time I plug my phone in, the device is not recognized.
What happens if you go to iTunes > File > Devices, do you get the option to Sync iPhone?

I cannot get my ipod touch or iphone to be recognized by Itunes on my mac mini. Only when i download itunes each time afresh, will it show up the first time. Then these devices will not be recognized subsequently. Is it because i am not uninstalling itunes before I download it? Surely this is a basic thing, ie that my devices need to recognize each other?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

I am suddenly unable to update or download apps on my iphone 3G. It says "the download will be available after you log in to itunes from your computer." I never had to do that before. Even when I do log in from the computer, the download still doesn't work. So what's going on? Why would I need to go the computer to download an app to my phone? You have already seen that you cannot load the new iTunes into your 10.5.8, so as Neil says, you need Snow Leopard (current cost £14). And you'll probably need to update the disc you buy via the combo update, though that is free.
As far as the new iTunes is concerned, there's been a certain amount of grumbling so you may want to study the forums before you update. The main problem has been with album artwork which does not transfer easily.
