Iphone to Pioneer deh 7900?

Hi!
I have recently bought an Pioneer deh 7900 car sterio. When I am trying to connect my Iphone to it to play music from it, the pioneer dosnt find it, it just keeps saying " format read" and nothing is hapening, exept that the iphone is charging. The sterio shuld be ipod connecteble through the USB port. Whats wrong? do I need a CD-I200 cable to control my iphone? shudent it just go and go through the USB port and in to the iphone whith an regular ipod/iphone cable?

torva,
I did a little bit of research on [Pioneer's website|http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/DIN/DEH-P 7900BT] for that stereo, and it does say:
Attention current and future iPod owners: iPod control is now built-in your Pioneer receiver - once connected to the CD-I200 cable (not included), you can control your iPod through the headunit and even view album, artist, and other music info on its display.
So it does sound like you need that cable, but you would want to contact Pioneer for more information.
Hope this helps,
Jennifer B.

  • IPhone won't work well with Pioneer DEH-5900IB Car Stereo

I have installed Pioneer DEH-5900IB recently and have connected my iPhone (firmware ver. 1.1.1) to this car stereo through Pioneer CD-I200 (interface cable for iPod). Then the iphone certainly asked me whether I want to switch to the airplane mode, and I said no. The music played immediately, HOWEVER the iphone could not charge (i.e. no lightening symbol), as well as 5900IB showed the message "error a0" with no playlist showing up. I could still change the song by using the navigation button (i.e. by clicking the wheel left or right side) though. Is there any possible solution to this problem?
I don't really want to connect the iphone to this car stereo via AUX, since the sound quality it could provide was obviously inferior to the direct connection through CD-I200.
Any suggestion, idea or even rumor on this will be really appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hey swkim... I just spent an hour outside fiddling around with the iPhone/Pioneer and I think I may have found a temporary workaround... let me know if this works for you!:
With the car ignition on, and no iPhone attached to the CDi200 cord, for this first time only (to get out of the 'Error-A0' rut) reset the Pioneer reciever (on mine it involves pushing that small indentation with a pen on the front of the receiver). Hard-Poweroff your iPhone (holding the top button until the red slider comes up to power off the iphone and go ahead and turn the iphone off). The receiver should be on in its reset mode (ie. demo mode or whatever). Now, plug in the CDi200 cord into the powered-off iPhone. It should activate the iPhone. Don't press any buttons - just let it power up by itself. In 100% of the cases i've tried this way, the Pioneer Receiver will switch to the iPod state and stay in the Ready functional mode until the iphone fully boots up, and then it will start to play, charge and work normally without the dreaded error-A0!
Now - the trick to getting this to work each subsequent time without having to reset the receiver each time (because if we have to reset the receiver each time it would be pointless - our tuner settings are gone, possibly BTooth settings gone if your receiver has that option, etc):
When you're ready to stop the car or turn off the ignition, do so. Feel free to detach the faceplate, etc if necessary. the Iphone in the cases I tried were still attached to the CD-i200 cord as I turned off the machine. After the receiver powered off, I unhooked the CD-i200 cord from the iPhone. When I was ready to start it up again, I first turned on the ignition, hooked on the receiver faceplate, and allowed it to boot up (no need to 'reset' the receiver). The trick is though that I made sure the iPhone is now hard-powered off again before attaching it to the CD-i200 cord. Now, attach the powered-off iPhone to the cord. it will cause it to turn on and boot up again... but now (in 100% of the times I've tried so far), the receiver will now see it in its Ready state and will work!
Anyways, let me know if this works for you. If this does, it would suggest that the problem may be with how an iPhone left powered-on tells the receiver where to resume playing a song. The upside of this workaround is that it doesn't require a reset of the receiver each time (thankfully) and, while connected in a working state (ie. non error-A0 state), it also survives Source changes so one is free to change to the TUner mode, etc, and back to the ipod source. The downside though is that one has to hard-power off the iPhone each time before connecting it to the receiver (annoying but not a biggy for me as long as this works), and instead of resuming from the spot in the song last played, it starts from track1 since the iPhone was reset (also not a big deal for me). The other downside I found is that, if the order sequence of the above workaround is changed and I end up with an 'error-A0' message, then I have to go back and reset the receiver (annoying since I'd lose my Tuner settings, ?possibly my Equalizer settings, and ?possibly my BTooth device settings on my DEH-7900BT)...

  • Pioneer DEH-800BT not working after iOS4 "error 11"

My Pioneer car stereo will no longer recognise my iPhone - only get "Error 11" on the head unit display since my iOS4 update. Anyone else got same problem ? Do Apple or Pioneer have a fix ?

I'm experiencing the same problem on my Pioneer DEH-3200UB. Worked fine prior to the update (all controls on my steering wheel as well) now when I plug my upgraded iOS4 3Gs iPhone into the deck, I get an Error-11. I did speak with Pioneer regarding this issue and they said it was a problem that had to be fixed by Apple. I spoke with Apple support right after speaking with Pioneer and Apple support stated that they can't support every device out there, but they may have a fix for it, or may not, in the future.
Apple support continued to say that I should post feedback on the iPhone support section of the website as the engineers do read those. I urge everyone that has this issue to post feedback on the compatibility section of the iPhone support site to draw attention to this so it gets addressed quickly.
I asked the Apple support rep if there was a way to revert back and was told "No" that Apple does not support going backwards and has removed all the old OS software from their site so it can't be done ... <pause> .. by Apple. He did say that there was "sites on the Internet" that have instructions and ways to go back to the old software and continued to state that it would not violate the terms of my agreement. We'll see about that when I bring my brick into the Apple store and ask for a new phone.
Apple is responsible to fix this problem or provide a work-around, even if it is a way to revert back to the old software. There is nothing in iOS 4 that I can't live without, and it really comes down to the point that there is nothing on a iPhone that I can't live without.
I'm not going to replace my car audio deck every time Apple puts out an update - I'll replace my phone.
Call support and post feedback. It's the only way to get it fixed. In the meantime I'm researching Android/Pioneer compatibility.

  • Iphone and pioneer decks

hi, my name is guss and i just upgrade my Iphone 3GS to OS4. with the old software was working just fine with my pioneer DEH-3200UB but now with the new OS 4 is says "format reading and just give me a error-19" i would like to get it back to work the way it was.. the sound was great and it was a cool thing to be able to plug my iphone through the USB port and just play it.. can any body help me with this. i mean, i didnt think that was going to stop working. Now i caan only listen my iphone in the car through the AUX port but this one ***** compare to the USB..
    thank you.

It's a problem with my unit as well. I get an error when connected to the USB port of my Pioneer DEH-3200UB. See the below thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2473507
and it seems to be a problem with many Pioneer decks in general. See this thread for that discussion:

  • Iphone and pioneer CD-I200

Hi there, i have a pioneer DEH-P7750MP, with the CD-I200 cable to connect my ipod and it worked great, since it had a very good sound quality and charged the ipod at the same time.
Now i bought an iphone, and when i connect my iphone to the reciever with the CD-I200 it charges the ipod, but when i play any song or video, it sound through the iphone speakers, instead of sound in the reciever.
Anyone have an idea odf why is this happening to me or how can i solve it?
Thanks very much indeed for any help anyone can give me.
    Richard Alves

I'm using my iPhone with a DEH-P5900IB. Same CD-I200 cable.
The iPhone likes to be plugged in before the key is turned on. If I do that, the phone will go to charging and connect to the stereo as soon as I start the car. If I plug the iPhone in after the stereo is getting power, it will sometimes give me ERROR-A0. Easy fix tho, just unplug and replug the iPhone until you get the docking chime and it starts to work.
That being said, it seems some CD-I200 cables don't make a good connection with the iPhone's dock connector. Symptoms of this are bad audio and the stereo getinng stuck at "Ready", the iPod source disappearing, or other errors such as ERROR-11. I had a bad fit with my first phone from almost day one. It was replaced for an unrelated Bluetooth problem, and the new phone worked better... but the cable is worn out and it just started to get bad again today. The problem isn't really the dock connector but the cable: Both phones had a good connection on the CD-I200 cable in my mate's car. So, if you can never get it to connect properly, try another cable.

  • Info on JVC KD-HDR50 & Pioneer DEH-P3100UB

:smileyhappy:Hello I need help.  I'm buying a radio for my car and I'm torned between JVC KD-HDR50 & Pioneer DEH-P3100UB.
Does either of these scroll the artist name and song name at the same time when using the Satellite mode (I have XM that I will be hooking up to this and I will be using this and my IPOD all the time I won't be listening to the radio)?Or is it only just the artist name or just the song name? Can it be easily switched back and forth with the touch of a button?
To give you an idea of what I'm looking for when buying:
    Satellite radio
    USB in the front
Cannot have flashy or bright colors because I will not be able to see when driving at night (very important for me)
The scrolling of text if possible I would like artist and song scrolling at same time but this is not as important as the lighting
I don't really care for the beeping sound when pressing buttons (would like to turn off if possible)
    Price - under $200
If anybody has any suggestions or info it is greatly appreciated.  I've been looking online and in the stores and reading lots of reviews and I just can't make up my mind.  Thanks in advance!

Unless they've changed them, the front USB ports are only for flash drives. Otherwise you'll need to either go through the aux jack, or buy the ipod adapter.

  • I have transferred all my music from iTunes onto my USB to play on my car audio radio. The radio reads the music but does not play it in sequence. There is a specific way to save the music into folders and name them. I have a Pioneer DEH-2350UBSW.

I have transferred all my music from iTunes onto my USB to play on my car radio. The radio reads the music but does not play it in sequence. So it plays certain folders, then it skips folders. in certain folders it skips tracks. apparently there is a specific way to save the music into folders onto the USB with regard to naming the tracks and folders.. I have a Pioneer DEH-2350UBSW. Can anyone please help.

It is a stick, Cruzer Blade 16gig.
In the manual it says the following about the USB storage device:
    1. Playable folder hierarchy is up to 8 tiers
    2. Playable folders up to 500
    3. Playable files up to 15 000
Under sequence of audio files it says that the user cannot assign folder numbers and specify playback sequences with this unit. It also gives an example of a hierarchy:
    01 - folder
Under that is 02 which is also a folder
Under that are compressed audio files 01 to 05: folder number
Under that there is another folder same concept as above - I have attached that part of the manual in this response.
I named my folder - Folder 001 Artists name and then in that folder I added the tracks as:
    001 Song title
    002 song title
It played the 1st song in the folder and skipped to the next folder, I can't even locate the other tracks.
On another folder I saved 31 songs but only 29 played so I am not sure whether there is a limit.
All I need is an example of how to number and name everything.

  • IPhone with Pioneer AVIC or other headunit

I am concidering purchasing a Pioneer AVIC X3 (N4 in the US I think) headunit. Anyone here have experience with pairing the iPhone with Pioneer headunits? The iPhone hasn't been released over here yet so I can't try it myself, just don't want to buy the headunit now and the find out in a few months it won't work with the iPhone...

Nevermind. Did a hard reset of each and they work now. Odd...

  • Ipod nano 4g pioneer DEH P9880BT

Hi,I am trying to connect my ipod to my pioneer car stereo deh p9880BT,i use the aux1 with a 3.5 mm jack, the problem is that for some wirred reason it peeks up the sound of my car engine, and weird i have to spray my windsheild 2-3 times every 10 minutes to make it stop,or try to hit in halls on the road, now i want to connect it with another way i have tried this http://i.seimg.net/images/19437/main/acc-ipodpio.jpg but when i connected it,(this time on aux2) there was no sound,i could hear the ipods inner speaker though, now i want to try this http://www.ebay.com/itm/PIONEER-CD-i200-CD-1200-iPOD-iPHONE-PAD-AUX-INTERFACE-AD APTER-CABLE-US-SELLER-/290676651061
is there another way,if someone knows?Or if someone cay say if they tried it and it worked or i am missing something..Thank you

Great sound quality, a plus that is charges from
there, I like that I can control everything from the
HU too but I get little to no text on the HU. The
first few letters of the playlist or genre and band
name, no song title or album titles.
Any have any experience with this? Is there a way to
revert control back to the iPod click wheel?
    Thanks.
Shouldn't you be seeking information from the support sites
of the vendors involved? Reading the manuals is useful, too...
If your audio system has an auxiliary input consider using an audio patch cord between the audio out on the nano and the car system.

  • How to connect iphone to Pioneer receiver

Tryng to connect my iphone to watch videos on our Pioneer Receiver.  Can get sound but no picture using the HDMI cable.  Receiver is a VSX-23TXH and says it is iphone compatible.

    Hi Jgunnoe4333,
First you'll need to restore network defaults on your printer. From the printer front panel:
    1. Press the Wireless button.
    2. Choose the option for Wireless Settings.
    3. Choose the option for Restore Network Defaults.
    4. Choose Yes.
The wireless light should start blinking again.
    Secondly, from your PC:
    1. Make sure your computer is connected to the new network, and if wireless, make sure the network connection is saved and connects automatically.
    2. Click Start>All Programs>HP>Deskjet3050>Printer Setup & Software.
    3. Select the Connect a New Printer Option.
    4. Select Network/Wireless install.
If I have helped in any way, just click the Kudos star on the left. Also, if your issue has been resolved, don't forget to select Accept as Solution

  • Iphone and pioneer compatibilty

I recently bought a Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD head unit and the sound quality is incredible compared to the stock unit. But when i connect the iPhone to the head unit via usb, it makes cracking noises periodically. It doesn't hinder the music, but its very noticeable during softer passages or during audio books. I have taken out all other variables such as it could be the unit itself or the usb port, but nothing else causes the phenomenon. Does anyone else have experience with this issue? They sell a cord specifically for the unit to connect iphones, but online i have read that the only use for the cord is for playing video. Any light on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

I have an AVH-43000dvd with the Pioneer CD-BTB200 adapter and I'm having the same problem. I can connect for about 3 seconds, but then for some reason it disconnects. I've found other reviews of the Pioneer CD-BTB200 where people have said that the iPhone4 just doesn't work with the Pioneer CD-BTB200 unit.
If anyone knows a fix, I would sure love to hear it!

  • N95 Bluetooth wont stay connected to Pioneer DEH-9...

Blue tooth pairs fine but disconnects after a few seconds, I have tried deleting all the pairings etc etc, problem seems to be when it starts to download the phonebook to the Pioneer unit, if I turn that option off on the Pioneer then the N95 stays connected...but I want the phone book to download onto the Pioneer...HELP!

Are you actually pairing them by inputting the 6 digit code on the iPhone?

  • N73 Trying to connect to Pioneer DEH-85BT Head Uni...

    Right,
Got a replacement N73 from Orange as mine was broken! My old one connected fine to my headunit (Had a little car next to the bluetooth symbol)
My new one will connect but Can I get a car symbol, can i Hell! Tried for an hour still no joy!
It connects but wont transfer the call to the headunit! The headunit recognises there is a call but wont play it through the speakers!
Any Ideas before I throw the N73 against a wall????

Good news boys and girls. I had the exact same problem with my 6110.
Here is the fix. Update software for your head unit. Works perfectly. I hate Nokia.
Thank God for pioneer doing the right thing and stepping up to clean up Nokia's mess. I won't be getting another Nokia after all the problems I have had with them, just thankful that my hands free works again... for now..
    http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/content/support/support/update/deh_bt_update.html
I did find that pioneer tell you to delete the phone from the Head unit connection list as step 4 AFTER updating it whereas I found that it would only update if I deleted the phone from the Head unit and the Head unit from the phone first. You will find that after the update the phone will connect as both a phone and a BT audio device at the same time which is a nice improvement. Still doesnt let you have voice navigation at the same time as listening to music from USB but an improvement none the less.
