Iphone touch apps automatically sorted alphabetically.

I was really annoying, i have already sorted my apps (3-4 pages) according to categories, i.e. games, business..etc.
but for unknown reasons, my apps suddenly were arranged to alphabetical order without me doing anything. this happened almost 3x already and I cannot find any information in the web or here. Anyone has this problem?

Why was Sync Applications deselected under the Applications tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes? This should and must remain selected with iTunes on the computer you sync iTunes content with - namely for 3rd party apps. If I deselect Sync Applications under the Applications tab for my iPhone sync preferences, I get a warning message that all apps currently installed on my iPhone will be erased from my iPhone when syncing, which is normal. The same applies if you deselect Sync Music under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences after transferring music to your iPhone via the sync process.
After downloading/installing an app with your iPhone, the app should be transferred to your iTunes library on your computer the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so but if you deselect Sync Applications under the Applications tab for your iPhone sync preferences, all apps will be deleted from your iPhone when syncing. Leaving Sync Applications selected also allows for deleting a select application or applications from your iPhone only without deleting all by deselecting the app or apps you want deleted from your iPhone followed by a sync. To re-install an app later, reselect the app under the Applications tab followed by a sync.
If all apps on your iPhone are not available in your iTunes library on your computer, without syncing at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. This should transfer all paid and free apps downloaded/installed with your iPhone to your iTunes library on your computer. Follow this be reselecting Sync Applications followed by selecting the apps in the window below that you want on your iPhone. This may not prevent all apps from being removed from your iPhone first followed by being re-installed.

IPod app on iPhone 4 won't sort alphabetically after music transfer.

I have recently downloaded a software on my computer to remove music from my iphone. I currently don't have itunes (laptop got a virus!) and needed to remove some music from my phone. The software worked great, however when I went to check my phone to see if the music was really deleted, I noticed that the artists are no longer listed in alphabetical order. Well, I take that back. They are, if you scroll down to the middle of the C section, they start in alphabetical order. Not sure how this has happened, why it has happend or how to fix it!
The software I used to transfer the music is:
CopyTrans - downloaded from cnet. this one worked-ish but didnt delete the files off the phone, so i used another software after that called:
4Media - Ipod to PC transfer. - worked beautifully!

Iphone/Touch App that allows remote control of shared libraries

Hey all,
Curious if anyone has found this. I want to plug my macbook into my TV and play movies, music and tv shows on. All my content is stored on my imac in my other room. I can use front row to view the content on my macbook with the provided remote but I cannot use the Remote app for the touch to control my macbooks itunes shared libraries, only the itunes within the macbook.
Simply put, you know when you open up front row, you can access shared libraries on other mac itunes accounts? You cannot access the same libraries through the Remote app when controlling the itunes on the same computer.
Any thoughts?

Photos for iOS: How can i sort all of my albums automatically in alphabetical order

Hey there,
first off, why isn't there a a community for the new Photos app?
Anyway, here is my problem:
How can i sort my albums on the new Photos app on iOS?
I think it's not possible at the moment.
I am using the iCloud Photo library and uploadet all of my 15.000 photos from the last 15 years.
And because of that, i now have many many albums on Photos now.
Overall i love the new app and i love the iCloud Photo library, but i cannot sort my albums on the iOS app automatically in alphabetical order.
I can sort albums manual, but who wants that, when you have so many of them???
I have Photos on my Mac too and there i am able to do sort them in alphabetical order. But it is not adopted to iOS or the iCloud Web-App.
Because of that, i have a complete picture chaos on my iPhone and when i am looking for this one pic in that one album it takes me forever to find it.
So please Apple, fix this and we all can live happily ever after!

Moments in Photo are the new Events. T
here's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When the library was first migrated there was a folder created titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events are represented by an album in the folder. To open the sidebar if it's not open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window showing all of the albums.
The downside to this simulation is that the Album/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title while viewed in the Folder in the main window or in the sidebar. But they can be sorted manually.

I cannot find the app/Safari Sort? I too want my bookmarks in alphabetical order. I Belive I am using Maverick

I read some of the earlier posts about using an app, "Safari Sort." However, I was unable to find an app named that. How or What do I need in order to put my bookmark folders in Alphabetical order without have to drag & drop each folder manually(alpha order)?

I've been watching this (general) thread for years and waiting patiently for Mozilla to address it, w/out any success at all - obviously. And, no, the answers are NOT helpful to me!
I understand many people have no interest in bookmarks but clearly lots of people still use them. If you're going to have the feature that purports to sort bookmarks, for pete's sake, make it work. I'd think it would be an embarrassment to have a part of your program malfunction for so long. I mean, what are you folks? IE!?! Why don't you just ask someone to spend a couple days addressing the issue and get it straightened out? (Clearly i care enough about it but I don't code, so… I'm useless.)
For the record, a user shouldn't have to individually sort each folder within their Bookmarks folder. One should be able to pick an option that would apply to all folders. Sure, leave the ability to sort individually but add an "apply to all" feature to the mother folder. Then, find a way to have it automatically maintain that status, whatever is selected. Doesn't sound like that difficult a task, given all the other great things you guys and girls do all the time! That's my ¢.

Sounds like a mouthful, but basically im saying that I have a bunch of compilations that when displayed in itunes on my pc,
show the album art which is set for the first track. This is to be expected.
But when i upload the compilations to my iPhone 5, and i open up the Music app and select the compilations tab...
The same compilations show another album art that is actually associated with another track in the compilation.
When i looked for a pattern, i found that it would basically take the album art from the track in the compilation based on the artists name in reverse alphabetical order.
So if i had album art associated with every track in the compilation, normally it would show in the listing the album art of the first track... but now it was actually the album art of the artist name starting closest to the letter z.
I've tested this many times. very annoying. but to explain again...
If i have a compilation containing artists from Coldplay to Ziggy Marley... no matter where in the listing Ziggy Marley is listed first to last... it will display the Album art associated to Ziggy Marley in the List view for the Compilations or Albums tab in the Music app on an iPhone 5.
Normally you would expect it to show the album art associated with the first track in the listing as it does in Itunes so as to keep uniformity between what you upload in iTunes and what you see in the Music app on the iPhone.
THIS IS A BUG APPLE!!!... test it for yourselves... someone broke your db sorting in the new itunes. ITunes 11, with iPhone 5

another note... when i select the album from the list (on the iphone, in the music app) and it slides over to show all tracks in the compilation...
it then shows the proper album art as it should.
Also, when i check cover flow it then shows another incorrect cover?

A2109...How to sort alphabetically in app drawer?! Ugh!

Can't believe I actually have to ask this question. Using the stock launcher, I don't see an option to sort the app drawer alphabetically. Am I missing it somewhere? I see the pencil that allows you to arrange the icons, but I just installed 100 apps and I don't feel like alphabetizing them at the moment.

There are many launchers that you can download that sort automatically..... Jellybean launcer (one that looks like jellybean for many versions of android) will sort alphabetically.

IPhone Mail.app does not sort mails by date

I've just copied about 3000 old mails from a POP3 account to my Gmail account (IMAP). This was done through OS X mail.app, which just works perfect both in the OS X Mail.app and in the Gmail web interface.
The problem is that the Mail.app on my iPhone seems to sort the mails by some kind of mail ID so all the copied mails appears first in the Mail.app. I can't find any way to sort the mails by their date, which I guess will solve the problem.
If there is missing importing information about the problem please let me know so I can supply with more information.

This is a known issue with gmail. I found this in their FAQ:
"Messages uploaded or copied into Gmail using IMAP may display the wrong date in your inbox or other labels."

Apparently "The correct dates should appear in conversation view." applies only to web browsers and not the iPhone Mail app.

Why does my iPhone 4 keep closing apps automatically?

When I open different apps on my iPhone 4, they automatically close before they open. I cannot access them. Also, I am not receiving text messages sent to me. When they come over, I see them, and they immediately disappear before I can open them up. Same thing happens in trying to send text messages.

Is your device jailbroken? Do you have apps installed on it that were not purchased from the iTunes Store? If so, what apps?

If you changed the default folder for photo stream photos you might want to uncheck photo stream on the icloud control panel, then recheck it without changing the default location then take a new photo on your device and see if it syncs now. (Some users have reported problems when they changed the default location.)

IPhone BT Wifi App - automatic login query

Hi,
I have the BT Wifi iPhone app and it connects quite successfully to my home network and hotspots.
The only issue I have is that the app does not connect automatically, rather I have to open the app and let it do it's thing!
The strange thing is that I have the BT Wifi app for Android on both my Samsung phone and Nexus 7, and this app does connect automatically in the background. I don't have to open the app; as soon as a hotspot is available the Android app connects without opening the app.
Is there a reason that the Android app connects automatically and the iPhone app doesn't?

As far as I can remember there used to be settings to allow the iphone to connect automatically or not depending on your choice.
It has has been removed on the Android version, I don't have an iphone to hand to be able to check if they are still on the iPhone version. If you go into the App settings it may be that they are still on the iphone app and you need to tick the box to connect automatically.

Galaxy S6 Edge App sort (alphabetically)

I have just got the new S6 Edge and have been trying to find how to sort all of my apps into alphabetical order, but there seems to be no way of doing it. I have looked on google and this problem seems to be happening in the UK after the different carriers do whatever they do with the phones as there seems to be no problem in a lot of other place around the world. Has anyone got any idea how to get around this problem

Excuse the thread necromancy, I had an S4, that upgraded from KitKat to Lollipop and the app drawer remained sorted alphabetically. New S6 has them higglety pigglety which is of precisely no use to anyone whatsoever. No option to sort. So it seems to be wholly an S6 thing and o2/Telefonica need to bring pressure to bear upon Google/Samsung to allow a AZ sort. Why would I want apps ordered in date of install rather than the universal standard alphabet?! Almost as annoying as Facebook/Instagram installed on the ROM and not uninstallable.
