If you had find my iphone set up and activated on your phone, then you can log into icloud.com and then use find my iphone.
Report the loss to your phone carrier and local authorites.

I am desperate and seriously need some help - iPhone tracking.

I’m really hoping one of you can help me.
Long story short – my daughter aged 6 was taken from me last week because my violent rapist ex husband told Children’s Services that I tried to drive her off a cliff and am a serious suicide risk, I abuse her, I neglect her, I’m an alcoholic, anorexic, complete psycho nutjob etc etc, really nasty stuff. I am desperately trying to get her back. I need to prove I was not at this cliff & in fact have never been there, nor have I ever been stalking his house as he claims (& was awarded a 500m exclusion zone from his house so I can’t get my daughter if I need to as well as a ban on any telephone or postal contact between my daughter & I). I can prove my phone has been used every day for the last 2 years with my bills and if I can prove that in that time I have never been to this cliff, among a million other things I need to try & prove by Wednesday, I have a fighting chance of getting her back. I was allowed supervised visitation today & she’s scared & confused, massively regressed, looking physically neglected, she was withdrawn & was trying to tell me something but being supervised she couldn’t & got told off for whispering. The police are powerless in this & Children’s Services believe him over me, unless I can disprove his claims. Apparently it’s my job to prove their allegations are false rather than them having to prove they’re true!
Anyway, I’m trying to do the tracking thing on my iPhone 4, IOS 5.1.1.
I have got so far but I am totally stuck now. Nothing I do seems to work & to be honest half of the instructions may as well be in Swahili to me! It’s all totally over my head & I am not techy enough to understand it, I’m literally Googling every other word to try to understand.

Though I would never normally do it with complete strangers is there any way anyone would be willing to do a remote access thing on my laptop to get the proof I need? Can anyone give me an idiots guide to it? I’m not on Skype or chat or anything but I will get on to it if it helps? Can I ring someone & talk me through it? I’ve been on http://petewarden.github.com/iPhoneTracker/ & downloaded the app. I’ve also downloaded all the suggested programmes on http://www.26horas.com/apple-device-tracker/ as well as HDXHex thingy, I follow the instructions as far as I can but then I keep getting errors about SQLite3 databases & modules not being found... I have no idea what any of this means but I have heard this technology is no longer valid? Apple has changed it or something? Apparently people whining about big brother & invasion of privacy has made apple change everything & clam up about tracking, but apparently there is still a way, just no one seems to know how!
Please can you help me? Please, if there is any way you can help me I would owe mine and my daughter’s lives to you. I am desperate and literally on my knees begging you to help me, please. I’ll pay for your time, but please can you help me?

#1. The iPhone "tracker" you're referring to has already been completely debunked. That is NOT what the data was. In addition, Apple update that "fixed" the percieved problem, so the data is no longer accessible.
The only way to "prove" what you want to is get a court order for your cellular company to pull the records for the location of your phone over time from their system.
They know exactly where you phone is at any given moment, but that is not going to be something they will give you just for the asking.
Get a lawyer. If you had one, they would have already advised you of this. If you can't afford one, call legal aid.

How to retrieve iPhone tracking information from iPhone.

Does anyone know how to get the tracking information off of the iPhone? I am trying to get this information as I am fighting a parking ticket I received while my car was valet'd, but have no other record of being at the bar on the night in question (as I paid with cash...the one time I don't use my credit card, right??!!). Sorry but apple stopped tracking that information and it is no longer available. You will not be able to get any tracking information off your phone.

Precision of Find My iPhone Tracker

I have the Find My iPhone app activated and iCloud shows it is right behind my neighbor's house, which is a few yards and across from me. Mapping seems pretty accurate as I've refreshed a few times just to be sure, but what level of precision is the tracker before I go over there? I've tried calling and the phone is ringing, but I don't hear the sound anywhere in the house and it shows being in the back of that house rather than inside.

Take that location with a grain of salt. Not only do you have accuracy of the location being reported by the iPhone but you have accuracy of the Apple mapping. Even with a clear view of the sky and the best accuracy being reported by the phone, the overlay of the phones position on the map can be off by quite a distance. Refreshing the position will only be as good as the map underneath the iPhones reported position. I've seen the iPhone off by half a block due to mapping accuracy. You need to keep searching before the iPhone battery dies and you lose contact.

Is there a way to track where my iPhone is? It was stolen out of my car last week. It was my spare phone that I don't use anymore because I have a 4S

ONly way to track it is if you had find my iphone turned on and enabled.
Then you log on to icloud.com use find my phone.
If your phone is turned off you can't track it.
If you didn't enable or set it up you can't track it.

Iphone tracking and icloud

I had my iphone stolen while travelling in Berlin two weeks ago. The sim in it was not able to make calls or texts but was able to recieve. Cellular data was not activated either. I unfortunately do not use a passcode.
I understand its a lost cause getting it, although I am unable to track the iphone using icloud 'find my iphone' and it claims it hasn't come online in two weeks or it would notify me and lock the phone and then erase it as per my request. This has not happened although I am getting photostreams and contact syncing to my ipad and macbook from the guy who has my phone. Some great selfies from the guy are now in my iphoto library.....
Why if it is connected to some form of data, whether cellular of wifi has it not locked and erased but rather updated all my stuff. I just changed the password on my apple ID and restored contacts from time machine but it still reverts to icloud contacts and erases mine.

Wait untill the device is on, or contact apple for them to try and contact the phone to turn it on

I am running Windows 7 with the most recent version of itunes.

Where is this information located (directory path pls)? I have a secure erasure program that can nuke this information with a Gutmann wipe.
What other methods are available for secure deletion of this information from the phone and my laptop?

If the "Find My iPhone" app has been set up, simply disable it in Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone > Off.
Or disable location services entirely in Settings > Location Services > Off.
Or if it's a specific app, delete it.
The most drastic of all solutions is to simply restore the device as new.

Hi. I have been informed by a colleague that he is using an invisible app to track a persons location and read their messages. Is this at all possible? Phone is not Jail broken. This is a concern to me as I keep a lot of sensitive info on my phone

Hi, Thank you for the response.Just one last thing to clarify, I have heard of invisible parental control apps that have the functionality to read messages and other info off an IOS device. Is it not possible to use those applications with malicious intent?

Stolen iPhone 4S...any way to track it? other than using the Find My Iphone app

Hi. So yesterday, my iPhone 4S got stolen while I was in PE class.
Immediately after I realized that it was gone, I called my dad and he cancelled the service for me (Verizon) so that the person who stole it would not be able to use it.
I've been checking my phone's status on the Find My iPhone app regularly, but it keeps saying that it's offline.
So I was wondering, are there any other apps, websites, ANYTHING that I can use to find out where my phone is or turn it on? (so i can track it..)
also, i didnt have iCloud on that phone.
(as in i didnt turn it on on the phone itself)
is there a way to get all my photos that i had on my old phone back?
for example, if i get a new iphone, would i still be able to transfer the photos that were on my stolen iphone onto my new phone? (without iCloud....just using the same apple id user and pass)

Just so you don't hold on to that sinking feeling for not taking out every possible precaution aside from just leaving your phone at home and not using it... after having your phone stolen or .. lost:
I paid the insurance to cover loss or damage for two year... (really dumb of me since the deductible is $200. USD: more than I can buy the exact phone online and more than I could have sold mine if I had sold it online; (iphone 4 -32g). So don't kick yourself for not having insurance if you didn't.
I had all apps turned on: PhotoStream (which would have had to be active on your phone in order to retrieve photos to your pc or your mac now that it is lost). However, it is only as good as the last internet connection you were on and only if your were on that connection long enough for the photos to upload to photo stream. I was able to cover photos from Beijing and not the remaining 3/4 of my trip's photos.
Any photo app you may have been using most likely has an online access. Did you download a photo app? Start there. Do you have an itunes account? You can see what apps you have downloaded from there. If you use a mac you can see the photos in photo stream, (a sunflower icon).
Even if you had registered and jumped through all the hoops keeping app and updates up to par and a security passcode in place on the phone itself, your i phone tracking is not going to work at all unless the user is able to connect to the internet. This is not going to happen unless they can access the internet by having your passcode. So this tracking system, insurance and protection code is in most all cases a false since of security. It doesn't help you 95% of the time... i am guessing.
The except is possible I know.   I found two iphones one time and saw the owners request to call them that was sent from the tracking system. I called and returned their phones.   The people who have my phone have most likely dismantled it and are using the parts to recreate replications.... i lost it in China, lol.   where I saw massive fake reproduction within buildings that consume 7-15 floors and about 8 city blocks. So, it isn't always about your information: in this case they wanted the hardware. Which brings up the next point.
In the iphone tracking portion of icloud.com there is an option to erase the phone. I am not sure if this makes it unusable for the new owner of default or if it just clears your crap so they can actually use the phone.   I've left my stuff on the phone thinking it is most likely already in pieces. (a kinda Frankenstein-ish feeling when I think about it).   If you erase you phone via the icloud it seems you are no longer able to track it. it cuts all of your ties and abilities to do anything... if you could do something. ... hmmm.
So, do not bother with phone carrier insurance on phones: better to make sure it is covered in a home renter's or owner's policy. You have to specifically ask this of your agent or it is not a part of your coverage. This will cost you less than the usual cell phone insurance, shouldn't be more than $5. per month. (i paid $10!! .... should be a class action going on somewhere around that in itself).   Phone carrier insurance is a scam from A to Z these days... don't fall for it like I did. Yes, it was once a useful tool. Just make sure your home owner/renters ins deductible is not the same value as the phone.
So, do not fret that you did not have this "service" activated. Do however, check to see if you can download Photo Stream to any computer and access your last uploaded pictures from the phone. This application was most likely on your phone. Although you would have had to tie it to an account on the phone in order to tap into photo in a cloud of sorts.
Hope this helps if nothing more but to ease the pain.
