IPhone transitting 50MB of data without any app running !!!!
A few days ago, I found my iPhone 3G's battery drained out totally in 4 hours... I did a clean restore 2.0.2 without any additional apps, only setup an exchange email account and put it in manual mode, turned off location service, bluetooth, etc... Surprisingly, I found that in a 3 hours standby time, the usage is 2 hours and 40 mins !!! And 50MB of data has been received I have no clue where all this data went ??? And this secretly running apps drained by power and the make the phone exceptionally hot. I did a reset (hold power and home bottom) and then fully charged it again... turn off everything... Seems normal, 2 hours standby only 20 mins usage... Then I started to turn location service... still normal, and then email at fetch mode at 15 mins interval... Suddenly, thing went wrong again... the secret app starting running again...and even the phone is in sleep mode, it's still running !!
I have changed the phone once already !? Doesn't look like hardware problem... This problem started after upgrade to 2.0.2...

Mail has been known to have an issue. Sometimes it can get stuck checking and end up in a loop. Caused by either end (phone or email trying to connect to). It sends request, gets back response with maybe bad data, sends request, repeats...sometimes the account you are checking (especially POP) can be locked by some other computer (you left email open at home and it is checking same time you are, thus it gets stuck trying to check). If you feel it getting hot, open mail, then when in mail press and HOLD the home button till it quits (don't release before) to force quit the app making it reload thus exit a loop it may of been stuck in. Early on many Yahoo users had this issue.
Outside of that, not sure what to say.

Folllowing an upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) Finder frequently hangs, causing any open apps and the iMac to hang. This will occur whether or not any 3rd party apps or Safari are open. About 50% of the time trying to empty the trash will cause a finder hang. There are no error messages to let me know what code such a hang may be. Repeated attempts to force quit the iMac always fail, so I have to hard crash using the power button. Multiple attempts are required to successfully restart via the login screen. I do not know whether any other apps, such as Safari or screen saver may be involved. I have read through threads on Apple finder, and am stunned to find that after all these OS-X versions finder is still buggy and inferior to MS Explorer and Apple appears to be in denial. Maybe their efforts are in devices such as iPhones and iPads? Ths issue never occured in OS 10.5.8.

i have tried to restore via itunes as i would have usually, half way through i get an error code 3194 pop up.....and yes i do back up.

I have a macbook pro. The wireless is always conected but it keeps stopping uring browsing for some minutes. However i am using teh same wireless on my iphone and it wok normaly without any stop or cut. Any help please?
I'm having the same issue. Different programs though, it's mostly browsers and adobe products. I thought maybe it was heat related but it's not. It seems that as soon as Lion was about to be released, the updates were updating in preparation for Lion. I delayed updating the software updates because Adobe (my career) isn't totally compatible with Lion yet. Before I even started getting update notifications, though, within the recent week, it's freezing up constantly. I don't know what to do. It seems to be happening with my brower choice, I'm using Firefox and Chrome as my main browsers. I keep alot of sessions open but that shouldn't cause (and has never caused) this constant freezing issue. I did install some extensions in Chrome and Firefox, maybe that's the problem... The issues began after those were installed though, 3 weeks to a month later... Maybe the software updates (that I installed thinking it would correct the freezing issue), maybe they are preventing other browsers ? Maybe Apple is getting rid of Chrome and Firefox ? I'm not having issues with Safari (yet) though I just opened it for the first time in 2 months... only because the macbook is freezing (and it's also rebooting while asleep, closing all of my projects and not saving them)...
My Macbook Pro is the same year and the HDD is a year new. The manufacture recall had the video whatever replaced a few months ago.
I've never had these kinds of problems with an Apple computer. I'm using Snow Leopard and I'm very attached to this laptop ! It's configured perfectly.
Why oh why does it freeze constantly within the recent 1-2 weeks ?

How do I sync my iPhone to a new Comp. without losing app data?
A few weeks ago I bought a Mac Pro from Ebay. I'm trying to sync my iPhone to it, but I can't figure out how to sync without losing my son's data on the apps he plays. I have some music on the new computer that I ripped from some of my old CD's. Is their any way to sync my phone's app info. with my computer's songs?

My laptop has died completely and no back up. I am not concerned with music or photos as they're all online somewhere. I do have a couple of apps with data on them which I cannot lose if I sync my iPhone with iTunes on a new laptop. Will my data be lost if I sync it and if so is there an (easy) way to keep my apps/app data?

Mount Iphone as drive without any app
Hi everyone,
How can you mount Iphone as a drive on the MBP without install any apps. When you connect the Iphone to MBP, like USB stick, it shows up as a moutned drive, which you can copy the photos in & out.
A friend of mine showed me how to do it once, but I cannot remember how to do it anymore, and he is not contactable at the moment. I just remember, he changed some settings, and the Iphone just showed up as a mounted drive. Does anyone know how to do it?

When I try and sync my iphone (backup) with my imac any apps that I have put on the imac OR my iphone will not sync to eachother, so I lose some of my apps. WHen itunes (on the imac) tells me to authorise the changes/apps and I put my details in, it comes up with an itunes error code of -54 and -50. I cannot sync my iphone correctly to back up on the imac and I need to do this as I use my phone for work. I have an iphone 4GS and run Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Can anyone help me please?Thank you Carolyn, I understand that and do use the same P/w for both the iphone and the computer and the apps were origionally for the iphone anyway, they just used to back on the computer and now they wont and the imac even cancels them off my iphone when I sync. And it says "Itunes" has made an error, try again...with the coes -54 and -50. This means I canot ack up my iphone properly.

IPhone 4, iOS7, cellular data control by app doesn't include all apps

The ability to control which apps cannot use cellular data is really helpful, but on my iPhone 4, certain apps aren't appearing in the list, for example, YouTube and Instagram. I need to figure out how to turn off the cellular data for the apps missing from the list.
I did compare this to another iPhone 4, and an iPhone5 - the other 4 had the issue, but on the 5, all the apps were listed.i'm guessing you used more than one iTunes store account to purchase content.
if that's the case, try authorizing your Mac to play/use the content purchased from the other iTS account(s).
that's basically very easy. all you have to do is +log out+ of one account (click on the account name in the Store window and select +sign out+ from the pop-up dialog) and into the other, and then they will both be authorized. when done, sign back into your usual account. you'll have to do that one time only.

Iphone 4s Could n't open any app and game
I could n't open any app and game after i restart my iphone4s in this morning. It just show me a black screen while i try to open it and then go back to main page. Does anyone tell me what is going on? I don 't want to download all the apps and games again even i know it helps. Please!

High CPU usage without any application running on the laptop
Hi ,
I saw some earlier posts as well but I am not sure if anything is helping me. I have a HP Pavilian Dv6. Its with me for now since 2009 or so. It was all running very well till last Nov - Dec 2013 timeframe. I had many bulky work done on the laptp like video cutting editing , along with audio edits , fairly well. I used it mostly for videos and no games though.
Since Nov - Dec 2014, all the videos started slowing down, extremely jerky, and not catching up with the audio. Slowly the problem became worse . After 10 mins of video it just stopped and hanged. It did it with every site and any format of video including videos on my C Drive. I earlier tried a lot of things, playing around with flash player thinking that's the culprit. Did not help. Browsers changed, Mozilla, internet explorer , Chrome, everything no change. Then till around last week, I tried tested, uninstalled a lot of programs, also did Microsoft system restore and seen , the CPU continously behaved reaching to its 100% peak and the videos getting shot down. Just no change. Last week , I got desperate and finally reformatted my hard drive and did a factory restore on the laptop. IT DID NOT HELP !! The laptop behaved really like a good puppy for a few days , Youtube and what not and again since yesterday it has been shot down ! No videos will run. What's more even a DVD video is not running , nothing on a browser a simple DVD player DVD play is not running. Jerky videos and hanging issues.
Everything boils dows to 100% CPU usage. Even if I am closing all my applications , it shows 'system' as the process using 90-100% CPU. Without any browser or even a notepad option open. There is also a prgram 'dwm' which eats up the next big slot of CPU.
I am really tired of this and not able to enjoy anything. Please suggest what could be the issue here and how can it be helped?Just to add the laptop is HP Pavilian DV6 , model Dv6t - 1300.

Will it hurt my iPhone 4 to leave on with navigation app running during vacation driving?
Getting ready to go on vacation and have downloaded a nav app and was wondering if it would hurt phone if I left it on during trip with nav app running? I have car charger so I am not worried about batt running out. Do not have to have it on all the time but wondering if anyone knew if it would hurt phone. Thanks.
No, it won't hurt the phone - that's exactly the type of usage these apps are designed for.
The battery will run down quicker and the phone may get warm whilst plugged in, but it won't harm it.
