Iphone turned off during factory reset
Apologies if this has been raised a million times before, i have tried to search for an answer..
As the title says my phone turned off during a factory reset as the battery was obviously low. probably happened 1-2 minutes into it actually.
Now it wont get past the apple logo screen. I have tried to reset the phone using the home + power key but nothing happens. it turns off then when i turn it back on it goes back to the apple logo screen, then will turn off.
Ive plugged the phone into my laptop and that wont read it either.
I hope i havent ruined the phone by it turning off during factory resetting ? Can anyone suggest anything to fix this problem ?
thanks
See if you force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn off your phone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone to turn off. If you cannot turn off your phone using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When your phone turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. Then, leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. After restoring from backup, you must sync to restore your iTunes content.

IPhone 4 turns off during factory restore
My iPhone recently turned itself off for no reason. Since then, I've been trying to restore it with little success.
I've repeatedly put the phone into recovery mode and attempted a factory restore, and this has only worked three times out of several dozen, due to the phone turning off in the middle of recovery.
On the occasions where the restore worked, the iPhone functioned normally for several hours before turning itself off again and repeating the cycle.
The phone (before successful recovery) will not turn on unless plugged in. When the phone isn't in recovery mode, the screen repeatedly displays the apple logo before turning itself off before displaying the apple logo again, so on so forth.
In brief, factory restore only works very rarely and when it does the phone only works for a few hours before requiring another restore.Restore as new, without using a backup. If this continues, there is certainly a hardware problem.

Iphone turn off during phone call
Hi, my iPhone 3GS (with iOS 5.0.1) turn off automatically during normal phone calls (i.e. without hands-free talking) after approx. 5 minutes. After a couple of minutes the iPhone come back to the normal "standby" situation, i.e. I can press the home button and unlock the iPhone to do everthing like normal (without any long phone calls). When I am using hands-free talking (like in the car) the iPhone is working as expected without any malfunction.
This effect was shown up at each call (> 5 min.) since the update to iOS 5. By using of iOS 4 the iPhone has worked as expected.
Who knows about this effect and possible solutions to fix it?
Kind regards, FrankConnect iPhone to Wall Charger for 10 minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still nothing, keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until the iPhone begins to respond.

Error: F3-F100-0005.
And then I have to turn off the computer.
Before that I was getting this error: "Windows could not finish configuring system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer." And I kept restarting it, about 5 times total, then decided to just reset to factory settings.
Whenever I reboot, it keeps automatically going to "Loading Files", then this error message. I have tried the advice found here:
http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/System-Recovery-and-Recovery/System-Failure-and-NOTHING-Fixes-it/... but it's not working.
Please help? Some laptops do not come with a recovery disc because they have hidden partition for the recovery.
What exactly is the model of your laptop. -
HT201413 My iPhone turns off during the restore & comes up with error 1611 - help?
My iPhone kept telling me I needed to update to the new iOS 5 software for some of my apps to update. So I plugged it in and started the update. But then my phone kept turning itself on and off. I put it into recovery mode & then tried to restore it. But it goes through as if to start the restore ie. extracting software, preparing to restore etc - the little loading bar comes up under the apple logo on my phone but then my phone just turns off.
I really need my phone back & I can't afford to buy another one which was what an apple store suggested - they didn't even do anything different to what I'd tried! I've only got a few months of my contract left until I can upgrade and I can't upgrade early. Is there anything anyone can suggest to get my phone working?? PLEASE?!
Thanks xThis Error code is most often given when Apple cannot communicate with the iPhone. Make sure your iTunes is current and is up to date. Click the iTunes Tab at the top of this Web Page and get current iTunes. If still problem, make sure the computer Hosts file is not blocking Apple Servers. Try a different computer.

My LCD does not turn off during the call. I have a iphone 4. What do i do?
You may have a defective proximity sensor but try some basic troubleshooting first...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
If iPhone is reset clearing data is find my iPhone turned off?
If iPhone is reset clearing data is find my iPhone turned off?
Yes, if you wipe the phone, you will no longer be able to track it.
You can lock it with a pass code, but don't wipe it. -
My iPhone turned off for no reason and wont turn back on but it will show me the apple logo then turn off again. I have connected it to the computer and attempted to reset it but it turns off before it can reset.
Ok. I have doen some research and I have some things for you to try.
First, what version iPhone do you have?
Second, Try holding the home+sleep button for ten seconds and you should see the apple logo come up.
Are you using your iPhone with a Mac or PC?
Have you upgraded to iTunes 11? -
my iphone turned off and it wont turn back on ive tried everything but my home button is broekn so i cant recover it how can i fix this?
Well, if your Home button is broken, you won't be able to reset your phone, and if the Sleep/Wake button won't turn your phone on, it's a trip to the Apple store.

After I downloaded iOS7 and my iPhone turned off I keep getting this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I dont wanna lose some stuff from my iPhone.
During a normal install of iOS 7.0.6 this does not happen but something clearly went wrong in your installation.
To fix this, connect to iTunes and restore to Factory. Hopefully your iPad will be working again and you can restore your iCloud backup during Setup. -
My iphone turned off by itself and it doesn't turn on
My iphone turned off by itself and it doesn't turn on, What should i do????
IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -
my iphone turned off suddenly!! and it wont turn back on..
Have you tried charging it to see if it will come back on while plugged in? If so, the either a soft reset or a hard reset may be in order. Instructions are found here.

white glowing screen and I cannot turn off and or reset. Just glows.
Try the remaining actions of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hello
The Iphone 4 was connected to my PC and it gave me an error. I was on low battery too. I held down the POWER button to shut it down, then the looping/loading circle keep spinning. I then proceeded to hold the power button and the home button together...and the Iphone turned off.
I don't know if I put it in DFU mode or not at the time. I didn't know what I was doing.
Solutions I have tried, but didn't work:
1. Hard Reset Mode: Held Power Button and Home Button for 15 seconds. Released the Home Button and I continued holding the Power button for 15 seconds-1 minute. (at least 20 tries)
2. Recovery Mode: Held Home button for 3 secs. Plugged USB Connector from PC to Iphone while still holding the Home button for at least a minute. Recovery mode didn't show up.
3.Tried restarting with computer with Iphone plugged in USB. Tried different USB ports on my computer as well. No luck here either. The USB cable is fine, because it charges my brother's IPhone.
What else can I do?First, make sure the phone is charged. To reset the phone, you'll have to hold the sleep and home button for at least 10 sec, ignoring the "slide to turn off" message, and not let go any button until the Apple logo comes up again.
Recovery mode is explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
