Connecting in recovery mode is your only chance to use the phone again, besides getting it serviced by Apple.

My nano blinks the apple logo when plugged into a charger and will not respond to any reset commands, anyone have experiance with this problem?
By a reset, I assume you meaning pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons (or Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons on the 6G Nano) long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
What happens if you try to manually place the iPod into Disk Mode? If you can do that, I would recommend connecting the iPod to iTunes and restoring it.

Iphone #GS died suddenly. Works plugged into wall but not unplugged.
Iphone 3GS approx 1.5 years old (I'm not able to upgrade at reduced price until at least FEB so I was hoping to keep this until the next gen is released MAR-MAY).
My Iphone is my all in one device and never away from me. Today I sent a text while in a store and it just died. at the time that it died it had approx 85% bat life. I couldn't get it to restart no matter what I did. (power button, reboot with power button and home button). I then brought it home and when I plug it into the wall I can get it to come up but it wont connect it says "SEARCHING" for network and the WIFI option is grayed out. the second I unplug it from charger it dies even though it still shows 85% BAT. My first thought was to backup my data and reset phone thru I tunes so I plugged the phone into my mac mini and tried to get it to start it wont. So phone dies the second I unplug from wall but it wont do anything other than tell me to reset thru itunes which I can not do since I cant be plugged into wall AND mac at the same time. Someone please help me. Searching online I have found other people who have posted EXACT same issue but none with a posted resolution. PLEASE HELP! Thanks~I dont think so. But why is it that it won't work while plugged into the computer. That is supposed to also charge it. And why unlike other products when battery is worn out where it progresses over weeks or months to get shorter and shorter battery life did this suddenly go from holding a full day+ charge and showing 85% bat life to poof nothing.

I was downloading up-dates and maybe disconnected before comlete!! I thnk it may have even started to restore but all I know is that it is frozen to the extent that it will not even turn off!! Any help please would be great...it is my aughters ipad and I think she will hate me for the rest of her life if I've mucked it up!!

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Then connect to cpmputer and restore if it shows in iTunes
- If iPod is still frozen on, let the battery fully drain. Then after charging for an hour try the above again. -
Hello all. My system is Windows 7 64bit. In the past my phone worked just fine, plug it into a usb slot, synced up, updated... but for months now it has not worked. Other Iphones will not work on this PC either with their corresponding cables. But my Iphone will also not work when plugged into other computers.. it will not show up at all.. no charge.. no itunes... no drivers show up in Device Manager. My phone works just fine when plugged into the wall with it's cable.. charges fine everything works.. but it will not charge when plugged into a computer.
So far... I have uninstalled everything related to apple... ran ccleaner.. fixed registry errors. Reboot PC, reinstall all itunes and apple components (all latest software) and nothing.
I have gonet o services and stopped and started apple mobile device. It is set to automatic.
I have hard reset the phone and soft reset it.
The cable obviously works. The Phone works when plugged into the wall.
Other Iphones will not work on my pc, nor will my iphone work on theirs
I have disabled windows firewall along with my Comodo Defense Plus and it's firewall. I have disabled my AV. I have scanned with ad aware plus, Avast, ran hijack this and fixed registry errors. Ran Ccleaner.
My device manager does not have anything related to apple in it.. I have no idea why. My Device Manager has no portable devices detected at all and does not recognize anything related to the phone.

PetePlace your device in recovery mode by:
Placing your device into recovery mode
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.

Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
Use iTunes to restore the device.
Then try -

but just with the sleep botton.
fist use your adapter with other iphone/itouch ... is posible itś the problem
second .. let your phone charging
...normally if we conect our phone ... after some minuts it's put on.
after 2 hours ... trate to use it ... if after it your phone continue same... could be qaa electrical/physic problem
please if you have a guaranty use it.

What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

Well, that is going to make it difficult, since the first two steps of user troubleshooting require the use of the power button. I suggest you get that fixed.

When you turn on the ipad2 it does not start up properly. The rotating disk that happens when you turn off the ipad appears after the apple logo comes up during start-up and stays there for ten minutes. Then, the ipad will start up properly.
Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
