IPhone turns off after calls

Why does the iPhone turn off after phone calls. I've had two phones now, both have had this problem. It doesn't happen on all calls. On one phone it happened more than the other. But the Iphone turns off after some phone calls and it takes anywhere from about 15-40 seconds before the turn on button will actually turn on the phone. Is this a hardware problem, or a software problem?

It's neither, it's normal. If the phone was asleep when the call came in, it will go back to sleep when the call ends since this was the last thing it was doing when you accepted the call.

My iphone turned off after I got off the phone today. It was more than half way charged and it went totally black. I plugged it into my wall charger and my computer, but nothing has showed up. It doesn't register on the computer either, the charge symbol doesn't appear, and there is no apple logo to be found.  I have no idea what happened! It was totally fine before. I tried charging another ipod with my usb and wall charger to make sure that they were still working, and they weren't the problem. What happened? Is the phone dead for good? I have a 3G if that changes anything. THANKS!

Press and hold both the on/off button and the home button and release them both when the apple logo appears.  That will reboot the phone.  try that.

  • Iphone turns off after a few mn of utilization with the battery full

My iphone 3GS turns off after the battery is fully regenerated. I can only use it a few minutes before it turns off. I have to plug it again to turn it on, and the indicator of charge is around 98 %. The problem does not come from the battery. Has anybody found the same dis-functioning? A solution? Thanks!

More than likely the iPhone has a hardware problem.
If there is an Apple store nearby, make an appointment to have this confirmed.

  • Phone turns off after caller hangs up

I have the new G3 and when I am finished with a call the phone turns off and will not turn back on for a minute or 2

I'm having this same problem. The phone display goes black after a phone call ends. I am not able to get any image or reponse at all either by pressing sleep or home or anything. A few minutes later the display will suddenly appear on its own.
Even worse, the same time this started (about 10 days ago) no one can hear me on a phone call. I can hear the other person with no problem. My i PHONE is useless until I get this resolved.

  • IPhone turning off after use

I was wondering if anyone is have the same problem I recently started to have. When I use my phone for about 2 minutes lets say to get on facebook, when I tap the home button to close facebook my iPhone shuts down completely I have to turn the phone back on. I got it on launch day and it did it a couple of times but know its been doing it more frequently. I have had to do a hard reset a couple of time just to get it to turn back on. I am thinking about making an appointment with the genius bar. Has anyone had the same problem?
    Thanks

I would try doing a restore first to see if its a software issue. If you still have the same problem, then take it to Apple.

hello sir my iphone screen turns off after using 2-5 minutes what would be the problem please help me out

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

  • HT4623 After I downloaded iOS7 and my iPhone turned off I keep getting this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I dont wanna lose some stuff from my iPhone.

After I downloaded iOS7 and my iPhone turned off I keep getting this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I dont wanna lose some stuff from my iPhone.

During a normal install of iOS 7.0.6 this does not happen but something clearly went wrong in your installation.
To fix this, connect to iTunes and restore to Factory. Hopefully your iPad will be working again and you can restore your iCloud backup during Setup.

  • IPhone 4s turns off after a while when I turn on 3G/wifi

    Hi,
Recently I have been facing a serious problem with my iPhone 4s. The battery is draining quickly, I mean very quickly, especially when I am using wifi or 3G. 3G to be more specific.
I have been charging my iPhone 4s at work on the computer USB cable. I don't know if this damages the battery, I believe it has already happened or maybe it messes up the battery life and percentage.
Sometime when I am talking on the phone and I have like 47% it shuts down, whenever I turn on my 3G after a couple of minutes even when i have 70% it shuts down then I wait a couple of minutes and I will be able to turn it back on, it works for a like 1-2 minutes then it shuts down again. I seriously can't use 3G!!! The iPhone will not let me! Sometimes when I open the camera to take pictures, the iPhone turns off!
Is there any way to fix this, has anybody faced this problem, how can I fix it? I have done a restore but it did not work, if I have done it corrrectly.
    I currenlty running iOS 7.0.2.
    I will appreciate the help.
    Regards,
    Firas

    Hi firaskurdi
i also ipone user, v6.0.1, maybe your problem are similiar to me.
    i have done the following:
    hard reset - done
    soft reset - done
    restore itunes - done
    battery calibration - done
firmware 7.0.4 - do not want to perform too because ios7 heard that is drain battery faster than previous firmware.
    but do not use.
maybe you can do a battery calibration 1st, means full charge, turn off 3G, use it until 0% and let it shut off, charge back, turn on iphone, wait it charge until 100% without interruption.
then you do a reset on network settings.
i go to apple store, they have same technical knowledge with me, ask to change a new board, or buy a new phone. wow...incredible, my iphone was 1.5 years old and never drop to floor before.
    thanks.
    gan~

  • IPhone 4 OS 7.1.2 doesn't turn off after notification

After I receive a text, email notification or missed phone call, the notification screen usually turns off after a few seconds. It's gotten to where about 40% of the time it just stays on until I manually hit the On/Off button. At first I thought it was because the phone was plugged up but it's also happening when it is unplugged.
Anyone else having this issue or know of a fix?

    Try a reset first.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

show my caller id button turns off after setting at&t, any help

Hi,  try this method, it works for me on an iphone4 & 4S (iOS7)
make sure you have all apps closed before next steps.
-Go to Settings, Phone, Show My Caller ID. (if button is Greyed Out)
-Pull down Control Centre & Turn On Airplane Mode & return to Show My Caller ID screen.
-Now slide your screen from right to left taking you to another screen, then slide back to your Show My Caller ID screen.
-Now You Can turn ON or OFF your Caller ID Button.
-Lastly slide down you Control Centre again and Turn OFF your Airplane Mode.
    Thats it Job done.
Please note, it will now stay in the mode that you have chosen(ON or OFF) even if you respring or reboot your phone. But if you return back to
Show My Caller ID screen, then you SIM Provider will automatically Disable your Caller ID screen BUTTON once again. So just repeat the steps
    above and your be fine.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPhone turned off and wont turn on After cleaning my iPhone screen, plugging to charge.

My iPhone won't turn off after I cleaned it with damp towel and then plugging in to charge.  The device shut off suddendly and I attempted to reboot it, but it shut off again at the apple logo.
I'm not sure, but is it possible that some moisture went into the earpiece? There are no indications of water damage internally and externally (checking the water damage indicators).
I saw some condensation in the front facing camera, but I've seen it occur before when I left my iPhone in a steamy bathroom (thought it was normal since the phone still worked fine).
The device won't turn on or charge. I put it in a bag of rice to remove the moisture, but it still hasnt turn on.
What should I do? I don't want to shell out $150+tax for a replacement.
    I have an iPhone 4 16gb.

So you have an aparantly dead iPhone that won't switch on, even though you know the battery has some charge.
The apple solution is to try holding the Home button and power button in together for 10 seconds. But, I have found that this doesn't work 100% of the time.
There are two important steps that I have found do work.
    1. Make sure the phone is connected to a power source, it can be the USB cable or mains adaptor.
    2. Press and hold the Home button and power button and keep them held in until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Don't worry if this takes longer than the 10 seconds Apple recommend - it might take up to a minute but it will work.
Once the Apple logo has appeared it may take longer than usual to 'boot' to the normal home screen - don't worry this seems normal.
I have used this method on the iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4, but it should work on previous models - do let me know if not.
    Conclusion
Your iPhone should now be working as normal.
