Hi - i have a O2 phone in UK and i m currently in the USA on vacation. I have the phone with me and wanted to update the phone to 3.0 while i am here. Will this be a problem? will i have activation problems?
In order to use a country's store you need a valid billing address in that country and be in that country when purchasing form its store. Gift cards are only valid in their country of issue.

ATT will direct you to a website and have you enter in some information which will determine if you qualify for the unlocking status. After you complete that, you will need to restore your phone as new through iTunes. Make sure that you have a backup to iCloud in order to retrieve your content and data after you restore your device.

IMessage on iPhone 3Gs being used as an ipod
I have an issue. I upgraded to the 4Gs, gave my wife my Phone 4 and plan to use her old 3Gs as an iPod touch for my son. Here's the issue I'm running into. I created an iCloud email for my son on order to use iMessage for free texting. The 3Gs which has been upgraded to ios 5 still shows my wife's phone number as an option to receive iMessages at. Obviously this is a problem because if I send a text to my wife or my son it goes to BOTH phones. I'be removed the sim card from. The 3Gs and even deleted the phone number from the 3Gs but it does not remove her phone number. You also cannot delete her phone number in the iMessage options for receiving texts.
Will I have to set the phone up as new in order to correct this issue?anil024 wrote:

However, all incoming texts sent by my family/friends who use iPhones were still being sent as iMessages despite sending them as texts to my phone number. Now it will reset all settings in your iPhone ( it WILL NOT delete any data). Now turn off the phone & power it back on. Now go back to settings & turn on iMessage, log in with your Apple ID & repeat the same with Facetime as well. You will now receive text messages to your new phone. my iphone is not charging i have restored it twice now and it still wont charge on the charger that i got with the phone. it sees that the phone is there and i can do stuff in itunes but it wont charge PLEASE HELP
If your iPhone won't charge with the power adaptor or when connected to your computer, do you have access to another USB dock connector cable to rule out a problem with the existing cable you are using?

Can I stop SMS notification when the iPhone is being used as a phone?
I love my iPhone, but the one thing that is driving me mad is SMS notifications coming through when I'm talking on the phone - a startling loud alert when the phone is pressed hard against my ear makes me jump every time, and actually hurts a bit too! I don't want to have my SMS alerts as silent, I'd just like the phone to realise that shouting 'PING!' in my ear when I'm on the phone is not good for my hearing or nerves!

what happens if an iPhone from US is being used in some european countries? Is it not gonna work properly? Will it bug? Or what are the reasons ?
If the phone is unlocked and the networks are compatible, it should work just fine. However, you won't be able to get warranty service without taking the phone back to the U.S.

I need some help I set my IPhone up yesterday and now I am trying to set up my IPad but I only have one Itunes account and one email but the IPad error message states "The apple ID is already being used" I dont know how to get passed this and my family and I only have one account and we all have IPhones now I dont want them to update if we cant all use the same account. I recently got the new iPhone 5c I used icloud to back everything up from my 4s to my new 5c. Now, I keep getting a pop up that says Continue Restoring? (This iPhone has not been backed uprecently because it has not finished being restored. Would you like to finish downloading any remaining purchases and media before backing up, or delete them along with any app date?)
I seleted to finish downloading because I didn't want to lose anything. It still will not finish downloading and I have tried this several times.

This message is displayed if your iOS device has been trying to complete a restore for more than three days. This can occur if your restore has been interrupted due to network connectivity issues or some other problem occurs.
Being that this is the case, you would want to go back to the article it seems you were referred to us from and try to restore from your icloud backup again:

How do I restore an iCloud backup if my device is already set up for use?

my iPhone 4s keeps showing more space being used for photos than i have -
i have deleted cache folders, unselect and reselect in iTunes I read one post
where they said keep syncing and in a couple days it would correct itself, that
hasnt happened. I have see others have the same issue but no solution and nothing
appears to work my iPhone still shows 6.5 gig use of photos when i only have the camera roll listedi thought the photo stream only holds 1000 i usuaaly take each month and save them to iphoto but if thats the my ipad should say the same amount and it doesnt - it shows 2.5 gig which is correct for iphoto. and i havent ever had that much but if for some reason icloud has that much saved how do i delete and again if it does why doesnt ipad show that amount _ HELP!

The message "Your phone number is now being used for imessage on a new iPhone" Keeps appearing on my macbook pro. It also says "If you just activated iMessage on a new iPhone, you can ignore this alert." But the only option is to ignore the alert, because the only thing I can do with it is click "ok" and dismiss it. Is there a way I can look at a list of the devices using my iMessage account, and if there are devices that I don't recognize on that list, how can I block them from using my account?

My mac has popped up with these alerts twice now, one saying 'Your apple ID is now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone.' followed by 'Your phone number is now being used for iMessage and facetime on a new iPhone.' what should I do?
I haven't got a new iPhone obviously and my current one is already been signed in and always has been, i tried changing my Apple ID password but the alerts came up again.
I recently updated to the OS X Yosemite update and have been having some isues with my wifi since then so I'm not sure if this could be related. I also had my last iPhone stolen about half a year ago but used the Track my iPhone on my cloud to set it so if it did become online it would be wiped, but obviously i am quite concerned.
