IPhone user guide bookmark

I have deleted the "iPhone user guide" bookmark from safari on my iPhone by mistake.
Does anyone know how I restore it or re-bookmark it?
Thanks

The address may be changing on you.
This is the address for the pdf file you can use on your computer.
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/iphoneuserguide.pdf
This is iPhone interface guide. Use your iPhone safari
and type the address in and when you select Go make
sure the address doesn't change to pdf.

If it tries to change to pdf stop it and re-type
the correct address. Post back and let us know.

  • IPhone User Guide Bookmark Stopped Working

This bookmarked worked a couple of times, now it does not work at all. Simple seems dead. Not sure it is on the phone end, looks like it could be on the server end. Does this work for anyone else?

Very interesting. That link makes one download the pdf file. Originally my phone displayed graphic pages not a pdf file.
If I go to that link from my computer I get the page for downloading the .pdf file. If I go to that page from Safari on my iPhone I get get the graphical user guide I think you are referring to.
Weird that it's not working for you.

  • Why can I not get to the iPhone user guide in Safari ?

Just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.0 last night. There's a lot of new stuff in here that I'd like to figure out. So naturally, I launched Safari on my phone, went to Bookmarks, scrolled down, and hit iPhone User Guide.
When I do that, I get a 404 error that looks like it's coming from a regular website, not from the mobilized site that used to contain the User Guide. This site has been dead all day today.
Is there a new way I'm supposed to be reading the help files on my iPhone under iOS 6.0? Why is the site dead?
For the record, the bookmark leads to help.apple.com/iphone/6/  .

    You have several options:
Go to http://support.apple.com/manuals/#iphone with Sarari on your phone and create your own bookmark; or
Download the free iBooks app on your phone, then download the .pdf to your MBP, import it to iTunes and sync it to your phone by selecting it on the Books tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  The manual will appear on the bookshelf in iBooks and you can tap on it and read it on your phone whenever your want.

  • IOS6 breaks iPhone User Guide

After upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS6, the Safari bookmark for the iPhone User Guide produces a "404 Not Found. The requested URL /apps/mobile/2.0/ was not found on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (PU_IAS) Server at help.apple.com Port 80" page.
Note that the URL (http://help.apple.com/iphone/6/) works when entered into the Safari browser on a Mac.

Since the first thing a users might do after installing a new iOS is look at the User Guide on their phone, this makes for a bad first impression. Is this a problem with the phone or with the web server? What is the fix?

At this writing (9/25-8am), this link - http://help.apple.com/iphone/6/ - is still a dead link. I have been able to get an iPhone 5 / iOS 6 User Manual, but cannot find a manual for the 3gs with iOS 6. Apple seems to have removed all the manuals (except iPhone 5 manuals) from their servers. The only available manuals that I can locate are in PDF format, which are useless for practical iPhone usage - you need to have "real-time" access to your manual. Apple should really put back in place the "User Guide" just as it was before the iOS 6 upgrade. Removing the User Guide from the servers is comparable to trashing a paper manual that comes standard with any item...

  • IPhone User Guide: where did I get this??

Okay, I've got an icon in my iPhone 3G for an app called "iPhone User Guide." I know that I added it, but I can't remember where I got it! When I search the App Store, it doesn't show up. Nor does it show up in my list of apps in iTunes. Am I losing my mind? Where did I get this??
    Thanks!

You can edit a post within 15 minutes after is was posted.
Apple includes access to iPhone user guide with the iPhone as a Safari bookmark. With a URL selected, at the bottom of the screen is a + icon. When the + icon is selected, the options are; Add Bookmark, Add to Home Screen, Mail Link to this Page, and Cancel.
Selecting Add to Home Screen creates a web clip (icon) for the selected URL on your home screen. Apparently you selected Add to Home Screen for the iPhone user guide's URL.
If you want to remove it, select any icon on the home screen where this webclip is located for 3 seconds or so until all icons begin to wiggle. There will be an X on the icon for apps you can delete, which are 3rd party apps only and the same for a webclip. Select the X on the icon for the webclip to delete it and then confirm the deletion. Select the Home button when finished.

  • Dashcode for application like iPhone User Guide

Apple's iPhone User Guide at http://help.apple.com/iphone/guide was created, at least in part, using Dashcode. This is evident when you examine the source code.
However, I've not figured out what they might have used to create the XML files that make up the contents of the book. Lines like *<object type="CONTENTS" id="z129">* look like a Core Data database; I wonder if it's a custom Mac OS application they wrote to author the books.
Does anyone know more about this? I'm trying to make a "Help" section for my iPhone app which has an embedded Safari web browser and would like to do something similar to the iPhone User Guide.

It's not useless if you take the time to actually read it...
To accomplish what you want, go into your contacts, open the contact, tap "Edit", scroll down until you see the field for "Ringtone". Tap it and choose the ringtone you want for that contact.

  • IPhone User Guide Format Issue After 4.3 Upgrade

The iPhone User Guide is no longer formatted properly since I upgraded to iOS 4.3. Although the info is there, the top third of the screen remains stationary, while the rest sometimes scrolls. On some screens, it's not possible to scroll down enough to see all the info. Has anyone else had this issue after upgrading? If so, what did you do to resolve it? I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Have taken to downloading the PDF but it's not nearly as quick and easy to use.
You need to restore your phone in iTunes, first using a backup, and if needed as a new iPhone, without using a backup. All is explained in the User Guide.
Starting to question why I did't go android. I thought apple products err just supposed to work!
No one here cares if you go androgynous. I'm sure they all work perfectly all the time.

Be nice if Apple made this available soon:- save a lot of trial & error testing/exploration...

  • IPhone User Guide - desktop

I have a link: http://help.apple.com/iphone/guide/desktop.html that opens up a great format of the guide and looks like it would work perfect for having an always ready support doc. The problem is that I can open this page on my iMac, but NOT my iPhone. I even put the link in my bookmark bar so that it would be a click away - but when I open the page on my iPhone all I get is a large grey page with a dark grey bar - no help at all! I can't figure out why it works on my desktop Mac but not on my iPhone. What can I do to make it load?

Thanks for the suggestion, I haven't tried changing my bookmark and I will try that. What I have tried is directly typing the url into the browser of my iPhone and it didn't load that way either.
Did you try the url from your iPhone and it worked for you? THAT'S what I was hoping to find out by posting here - could other people load that page correctly with their iPhones.
I'm limited to one iPhone so it's hard to know if it's just me or a general problem.
Again, thanks for the suggestion I'll try deleting it and resynching it.

  • For pitys sake - when is the ios7 iPhone User Guide gonna be available ?

  • IPhone User Guide (iOS 7) chinese ed. download 404 errors

It looks like all the links to chinese versions (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore) of the manuals iPhone 使用手冊.pdf are broken links.  English and Japanese are available.
    http://www.apple.com/support/country/?dest=manuals
supposedly out Sep 20, 2013.  Were they pulled for some reason?  couldn't find a cached version in google either, only the old ones for iOS 6 were archived.

Nobody in these forums can tell you the answer.  Presumably they will reappear when Apple is ready to make them available again.

  • Page 73 of iPhone user guide for 5.0 software (organizing photos on iPhone)is not working -- any ideas?

You cannot add photos to an existing album, or rename an album.
I know I've done this before the upgrade.

ATT must have been seeing all these posts. The unit all of a sudden started working for everyone!!! Guessing they pushed a sw update overnight.

Received a 404 erorr on accessing "user guide" bookmark in safari after updating new ios to 6, rest of bookmars work fine. What is the address to the user guide for iphone 4s with ios 6 ?  Thanks

    To BradKY...
No, this link is not fixed. It still comes up as "web page not found" (error 404). The ErrMsg comes on my 3gs iPhone bookmark for the "iPhone User Guide" -- which worked just fine prior to the upgrade to iOS 6 -- also this is a dead link via computer. The bookmark link is as follows: http://help.apple.com/iphone/6/  -- "The requested URL /apps/mobile/2.0/ was not found on this server -- Apache/2.2.3 (PU_IAS) Server at help.apple.com Port 80"
