IPhone uses in other countries

Does anyone know if it can be used in other countries ? What I mean is using it with sim card other than AT & T in other countries. I know it has to be activated through iTune & join AT & T's serive plans. Is it possible to sync the phone in iTune without joining AT & T ?

No, it is not possible to sync the phone in iTunes without joining AT&T
You cannot at this time use another SIM card in your phone without getting it unlocked first....

  • Unlocked iPhone use in other countries

I've preorder an unlocked iphone 5 in the UK, however, I may be moving to Canada in the new year. Am I like to lose any functionality and make full use of LTE?

The unlocked GSM model A1429 sold in the U.K. and the rest of Europe supports LTE bands 1, 3, & 5.
    Cananda's LTE bands are 4 & 17 (AT&T, Bell, Rogers, Telus). Only the AT&T GSM model A1428 supports LTE bands 4 & 17.

  • How can I set up two iPhones with the same contact, photos, music etc... but a different sim card and phone number. They will both be my phones, but one will be for use in other countries.

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
    Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

if it's not factory sim unlocked it will require to be unlocked by the mobile company it's sim locked will or it will not work with other sim cards from the country it was bought or another country

  • Use in other countries

    Hi all!
I want to buy an iPhone 3GS from France to use in other countries.
Please tell me if the iPhones from France work in USA or Germany for example.
    Thanks

The iPhone is sold in France as carrier locked with Orange, and as officially unlocked by Orange as required by French law, but at a significantly higher price than than the carrier locked version.
An officially unlocked iPhone purchased in France should work with any other GSM carrier's SIM card, but you may want to confirm this with Orange in France.
In addition, support and warranty coverage will be honored by Apple and Orange in France only. If a problem develops with an iPhone that was purchased in France that requires an exchange under warranty, the iPhone will be exchanged under warranty in France only.

  • I have 2 iCloud accounts. 3 devices use one of them as a primary account; my iPhone uses the other as a primary account so I can't stream photos from iPhone etc. What to do?

I have 2 iCloud accounts. 3 devices use one of them as a primary account; my iPhone uses the other as a primary account so I can't stream photos from iPhone etc. What to do?

Sorry, yes indeed you can do that, I thought you wanted to keep the accounts the way they are now and also share photo stream between all devices, which of course is not possible.
In order to login to the account you are currently logged in to as a secondary account, as a primary account, and vice versa, you will need to delete both accounts from that device and then log back into them with the correct account as a primary (settings > iCloud) and the correct account as a secondary (settings > mail, contacts, calendars).

  • Can I have the warrinaty of IPHONE 4S in other countries?

Can I have the warrinaty of IPHONE 4S in other countries?

The warranty of the iPhone 4S is valid only in the country of purchase.  The EU is considered to be one "country" for the purposed of the warranty.  It is NOT a global warranty.

  • Can Country Specific IT used for Other countries...?

  • HT4993 Use of Sprint Iphone 4S in other countries

    Hello
im considering buying second hand Iphone 4S that is Factory Unlocked from Sprint.
i know that Sprint runs on CDMA while many countries has GSM only.
if i put my GSM sim in CDMA unlocked Iphone 4S in a country where there is only GSM network will i be able to use it on local networks ??

There is no such thing as a fully unlocked Sprint iPhone 4S. Sprint can unlock the SIM slot for customers in good standing to use when roaming outside the country.
It can never be used in the US with any carrier other than Sprint.
Since the term "factory unlocked" as it is generally used can NOT apply to the Sprint or Verizon iPhone 4S, I would be very very wary of buying that phone.
Do yourself a favor and buy a legitimately unlocked iPhone from an authorized source.

  • Can I use a U.S.-bought iPhone 4 in other countries?

OK, here's the deal: A relative who lives in Thailand wants an iPhone 4, but they are expensive there and she wants me to buy one in America for her. I realize that to buy an iPhone, you have to sign a contract, and that's what makes the initial price cheaper ($199 with contract, vs. about $760 in Thailand unlocked). Is there a way to buy the iPhone with contract, and bring it over to Thailand to use it? Or do I have to buy it unlocked? (in which case, can I order one from the Hong Kong Apple Store and have it shipped here?)
Is it OK to buy the iPhone in America with the contract, bring it over to Thailand, and have some mobile store there unlock it?

As mentioned above, all iphone in U.S are carrier locked and cannot be unlocked officially. Whether you buy it under a contract or not, it will still be carrier locked to AT&T or Verizon.
If you want to buy it from Hong Kong Apple oneline store, you will need an address in Hong Kong for the iphone to be shipped, as they only ship inside the country, not outside of it.
Technically, factory unlocked iphone will always be expansive than the non-contract pricing, this is because there is no contract for factory unlocked iphone. Canada do sell factory unlocked iphone so if you plan on visiting Canada then you might as well buy one from there.
To answer your last question: No it is not okay to buy an iphone in U.S as it is not factory unlocked and I would not waste your money in buying one in U.S, but you can buy one in Canada.
Just keep in mind that warranty is country specific so if you happen to buy one in Canada, the warranty may not work in Thailand.

  • How to get iphone unlocked for using in other countries

Can someone please advice how I can unlock iphone 3gs when I can aboard and use another sim

Contact the carrier it is locked to, only they can unlock it.

  • T-Mobile contract-free iPhone 6 using in other countries

I recently bought a T-Mobile contract-free iPhone 6 in the States, however I am trying to use with South Korea USIM during my trip there. Is South Korean USIM (maybe SKT or Olleh) available for this phone?

" I am trying to use"
Are you telling us that your attempt to use the T-Mobile iPhone 6 in Korea was unsuccessful or, are you telling us that you plan to use the iPhone 6 in Korea, and you're asking us if it will work?  If I were you - in Korea with a T-Mobile iPhone 6 - I'd by a cheap pre-paid SIM for a local Korean carrier, and see if it works.  Regardless of the outcome, you'd have your answer.

  • IPhone bought in US - use in other countries?

So suppose I buy a 2.0 iPhone in the US. And go to England with it. iPhone is suppose to be live in London - but will my US-bought iPhone be able to access the British service?
If that answer is NO (like I suspect) there is there any (legal) way I can swap in a different SIM card for the iPhone that would connect to the British carrier?
Of am I just stuck and if I want to use an iPhone in London, I have to buy a British iPhone. If this is the answer... its not too palatable from my viewpoint.
    ---jon---

Funny but that's exactly my question... I travel a lot, to France and England. I would like an unlocked phone so that I can use their simm cards and get cheaper rates. Except with a phone bought in the US you are tied to them and I suppose this is good business for them as they charge roaming fees and calls cost 99c a minute!!!!! In Europe, and in-fact the rest of the world, no one buys a locked phone!!!
So why wont people just buy un-locked i-phones, and use them here with at&t and not be trapped into 2 year contracts......Any thoughts on what I am saying.......

  • HT1937 If I buy a iphone 5 in Cambodia can I use in other countries

If I buy an I phone 5 in Cambodia have it unlocked can I use it in Australia

If you buy a fully unlocked iPhone directly from Apple, then yes, you can use it in either country, but what you also need to bear in mind is the LTE and 4G issues - if you purchase in one country you won't get LTE and 4G in the other and vice versa.
Also, there is the subject of the warranty - iPhone warranty is NOT international, so if you buy in Australia and something happens to the phone, you have to go back to Australia to get it fixed and vice versa for Cambodia.
The best advice is to buy a phone from the country that you want to use it is - so if you live and spend most time in Australia, then buy a phone in Australia and vice versa.

  • Apple offering a pin for AT&T lock for iPhone 4S to be used in other countries.

My cousin just bought an iPhone 4 recently locked to AT&T and is currently living in the Philippines. He told me that if I would ask Apple, I will be able to get the pin to unlock my phone. I will be going to the Philippines as well and I need to get my phone unlocked. He contacted Apple and got the pin and got his iPhone 4 unlocked in minutes. My question is how would I get it?

"He told me that if I would ask Apple, I will be able to get the pin to unlock my phone."
    He is incorrect.
"He contacted Apple and got the pin and got his iPhone 4 unlocked in minutes."
    No true.
ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it.  No one else at all.  Not Apple - no one but the carrier to which it is locked.
