IPhone vibrates randomly

My iPhone (original iPhone) sometimes vibrates, for no reason. It will go a week with no problem, then start vibrating again. Then OK for awhile, then problems again for awhile.
I recently upgraded to the 3.0 software, and it's still doing it. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Ive had this problem with my iphone 3G, something with the vibrating device inside the phone is damaged. I don't know if you have AppCare, but if you do they will replace your phone, no questions asked. The problem is in the upper right hand corner of the phone. Try pressing down on the glass in that corner, does it vibrate? Good luck

My iPhone 5 randomly vibrates with no notifications and no sound ever since the 7.1 update. Has this happened to anyone else?

This happens to me too. Normally when it is off, a few minutes after it turns off it randomly vibrates. I have an iPhone 5 32GB Black.

  • Iphone 5 vibrates randomly

I wonder if someone could help me.
My iphone has just started to vibrate randomly, and for no apparent reason (no visible notifications). Initially, I thought I was making it up, but it has vibrated in my hand, or on the desk....
I've googled it and people have said about the new mail notifications being individually set. I have checked these and they are set not to vibrate. Even if these were set to vibrate - I never have a new email when it vibrates......
Its just started a few weeks ago, and I've had the phone since October.
Any ideas? or anyone else experiencing this recently?

My Iphone is also doing that, if look at your screen on the time it vibrates, you will see the same logo as of when you turn it to silent mode. I read some stuff about it on google, and some people say it happens when you touch the phone on its back on the right side of the apple logo. I was able to reproduce that by putting my phone on a mouse pad with the screen downside and pressing it. But I didn't get it all the time. So it more randomly than I thought on mine But only today it happened more than 20 times, and its starting to be really annoying. No matter what I try I can't reproduce it frequently, even though it happens a lot. Don't know how I am gonna show it to the technicians to get a replace.I just got a replacement for my Ipad that had the home button also stopping to working randomly. Apple is really getting to disappoint me on this little annoying issues.

  • IPhone 4 randomly notifying and over 20MB message no longer appearing.

Hi I have been having a few issues with my iPhone 4 since I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1. First and most annoying is that my iPhone now randomly and for no reason at all, makes the notification sound and vibration (or text message sound). It has happen at all different hours of the day and night with no message or notification appearing afterwards. The second problem I have is that I normally keep wifi off, so normally when I try to download or update an app that is over 20MB, the iPhone notifies me that it won't download those files unless I connect to wifi, but continues with the smaller files. After the upgrade this no longer happens. Instead the iPhone tries to download the file, fails, and no longer notifies me of the over 20MB message nor does it continue to download the smaller files unless I individually select those smaller updates to download.
I have tried a full restore and have tried a setting reset but nothing has worked so far. Is anyone else having this problem or know how to correct it?
    Thanks

I have an iphone 3GS at 5.0 and it does the same thing. For no reason a notification sound will be heard without any notifications in the menu. This has started when once my alarm sound for 1 hour before stopping by itselft. I don't know if it is related...

My iPhone 3Gs randomly shutting off at any given moment. I could be in the middle of a text, a call, or doing some games and it'll just shut off.
Now here's the unique part. When I go to turn it back on, the apple loading screen pops up but it takes somewhere from 3-5 minutes for it to boot up. Then the lock screen with the time and whatnot shows up. From this point on, my iPhone has a chance to shut itself back down and I have to repeat the process over and over again. Most of the time the lock screen flashes and then goes straight to black (shut down) but sometimes I can make it a few menus before it shuts itself down.
The only way to keep the iPhone on is to plug it into a charger of any sort. I'm fairly certain it isn't a battery charge issue because this happens at any % of power and sometimes my iPhone can use up all of its charge and not have this happen while other times I can be at 90-100% and it could randomly shut itself down. What can I do in this situation if some has some solution to this problem please let me know on [email protected] Thanks!

Not sure if this Term is Relevant towards an iPhone but, my iPhone won't Post unless if it's plugged into a Charger.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Why won't my iPhone vibrate anymore?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • My iPhone 4s randomly shut off last night and won't come back on. what do i do?

My iPhone 4s randomly turned off last night and it won't come back on.  It shut off with plenty of battery life last night, but just in case, I've had it plugged into the charger all night. Still nothing has happened. Any advice?

hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.

  • Why the iPhone vibrates 2 times when the iPhone OS is starting?

Someone know why the iPhone vibrates two times when the iPhone OS is starting (and the apple logo appears)
In my case, this rare event occurs when a problem with an application (3rd party) force to iPhone to restart or when occurs a problem during the sync with iTunes. After this event, my iPhone never load (your OS) and the only way is the restore.

Amazing how much trouble when can get into by taking shortcuts before we understand something... isn't it....
Read the API and find out for yourself what events are triggered by a JButton......
    Remember thsi advices:
    1) Before using shorthand event handling, make absolutely sure that you understand the process back to front...
    2) Write your own event, listener and implementer in order to get a clearer picture...
    3) Until this is clear to you, always implement the appropriate listener and override the necessary methods....

  • Iphone has randomly been bricking

For some reason my iphone on random occasions produces a black screen almost like the phone has been locked excpet no buttons work and the only way to reboot it to plug the phone into a power source. Another odd thing the phone does sometimes when it gets into brick mode is I plug it in to the power the phone doesnt even reboot the screen just flashes white and comes back to where I was such as the homescreen without a reboot. I have tried a full restore and it seemed to have helped for awhile but then the issue reoccurred. Does any know if this is a common issue and if its due to hardware or software?

Was the phone ever back up to iCloud?

My 5S just started doing this on Thursday: every fraction of a second or so it oscillates between connecting and disconnecting with the charger (USB or wall, doesn't matter). Since it's still under the limited warrantee, I took it to the local Mac dealer (I live in a small town w/out an Apple store) and they shipped it off. I'm waiting now for the replacement--telephonless, too!
What concerns me is that many people seem to be having this issue.
You were right to be suspicious of the Apple store employees. Once they replicated the behavior that you experienced, they should have immediatly offered to exchange your phone. Anything else, in my opinion, is unacceptable. As long as your phone is still doing it, I'd go back, ask for the manager and tell them to exchange your phone.

    Configure your security software
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.

  • Help my iPhone 3GS randomly shuts down, what is wrong?, Help my iPhone 3GS randomly shuts down, what is wrong?

My iPhone 3GS randomly shuts down for no reason, and apparently I am not the only person having a problem with this. This happens regardless of how much battery life my phone shows, or whichever application I am using. IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS!!!!!!! I understand that cell phones are not built to last forever, but my phone is in to good of a condition to go out and purchase a new one.

Before you get your knickers all in a twist, try the basic troubleshooting steps Apple recommends:
Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have been through ALL of the troubleshooting steps and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for investigation.
