Iphone videos files problems

Hello, I'm having the follows problems:
I can't drag and drop the *.m4v files from computer to Iphone usign Itunes. If I add the *.m4v files to Itunes using the add file to library option, and them drag and drop to Iphone it works, but I can't play the files on the Iphone.
if I use the get info option and change the *.m4v file from movie to TVShow at the Itunes it shows the change, but at the Iphone it does not show, the files disappear.
Thanks for help me.

Sounds like the videos are not in an iPhone compatible format.

  • Iphone video file compatibility checker?

    I have a bunch of video files in mp4 and m4v in a folder. Some copy to my iphone when added to my itunes library, others don't with the error FILE CAN NOT BE PLAYED ON THIS IPHONE. Usually the format for non compatible iphone video files was created for appletv device , but its hard to tell which files will play on the iphone, quick and easily. I was wondering if there was a simple iphone video compatibility checker. Like looking at video files listed in a folder directory, where it displays whether or not a video file is iphone compatible?
    If no such file checker exists, it sure would be nice to have such a file checker to look at a batch or folder of files at one time, and easily check iphone compatibility. (hint hint programmers)

    It appears to me that the only reason cpu speed, would impact play back is that iTunes has designed this effect into the files.
    No, they didn't, at least not as part of some sort of deliberate effort to get you to upgrade. Videos and movies from the iTunes Store are encoded with the new H.264 codec. This codec can yield much better quality at a lower file size than can other video codecs such as the most common MPEG-2, but decoding H.264 takes more processing power. Hence the minimum CPU requirement; it just takes that fast a system to decode the content smoothly. In some cases with a system with close specs, you may be able to get adequate playback if all other applications and processes are shut down (as with iTunes vs. QuickTime; iTunes takes up a bit more of the processor for it's other functions), but it's always going to be iffy if you're right at the edge of the system requirements.
    You're going to see this sort of thing on any computer system; better quality video requires higher-power systems, no matter what platform you're running on (Windows Media Player recommends 1.5Ghz).

  • Need help shrinking iPhone video file sizes.

    Thanks in advance, folks!
    I just recently bought an iPhone 4 and I love it. The only is, despite the phone recording in HD, the file sizes are huge. Even using the SD vga camera in the front, 2 and a half minutes equals 45MB.
    Is there anything I can do in iTunes, or the phone itself to change the quality and reduce the file size? If not, is there a program I can use to do this?
    I have searched all over the internet and haven't found any info. I really hope you guys can help me out. Again, thanks!

    Pls change the file extension to the format in which the file was recorded for eg : .mp4, .3gp, .avi. Check first in which format ur phone records a video file and apply a similar extension do dat fill, revert if any query.

  • Temporary Video Files Problem

    I am developing a Flashlight app for Windows Phone. First the problem was that it was not working on some higher end phones which I solved by adding the following code to my solution:
     // Create video encoding profile as MP4
                        var videoEncodingProperties = MediaEncodingProfile.CreateMp4(VideoEncodingQuality.Vga);
                        // Start Video Recording
                        var videoStorageFile = await KnownFolders.VideosLibrary
                            .CreateFileAsync("tempVideo.mp4", CreationCollisionOption.GenerateUniqueName);
                        await _mediaDev.StartRecordToStorageFileAsync(videoEncodingProperties, videoStorageFile);
    Now the problem is that the above code create a temporary video file everytime Torch is enabled. Is there anyway to delete those files created when the torch is disabled by user?

    Hi Prajjwal,
    >>Now the problem is that the above code create a temporary video file everytime Torch is enabled. Is there anyway to delete those files created when the torch is disabled by user?
    We can use StorageFile.DeleteAsync method to delete this temporary file:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/windows.storage.storagefile.deleteasync.aspx
    StorageFile videoStorageFile;
    private async void FunStart()
    // Create video encoding profile as MP4
    var videoEncodingProperties = MediaEncodingProfile.CreateMp4(VideoEncodingQuality.Vga);
    // Start Video Recording
    videoStorageFile = await KnownFolders.VideosLibrary
    .CreateFileAsync("tempVideo.mp4", CreationCollisionOption.GenerateUniqueName);
    await _mediaDev.StartRecordToStorageFileAsync(videoEncodingProperties, videoStorageFile);
    private async void FunStop()
    //Something to stop torch....
    await videoStorageFile.DeleteAsync();

  • How do i take a film from my iphone video file transfer to camera roll

  • Relatively large video file problems

    Videos larger than about 4GB don't seem to get converted properly by the desktop app when syncing to the playBook.
    I have done a fair bit of testing and the file size seems to be the common denominator of the problem. In other words, its not a problem of what file types or codecs are supported, just when the file gets to a certain size when converting, it gets corrupted.

    Hey Proton2,
    When you attempt to synchronize the video file what error message displays?
    What file formats have you tested?
    How much free space do you have In the PlayBook?
    Can you manually transfer the file to the PlayBook from the PC? (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB26068)
    Thank you.

  • Downloading video file problem

    when i used to click on links to mp4 files before, a popup would show up asking what I want to do with it. now, it opens up a new tab and starts playing video file. I haven't added any new plugins but i think there has been a Firefox update. Wondering how I can fix it. Thx!

    Yes, this is a new feature on Windows. If you want to block Firefox from natively playing MP4s, which basically would return Firefox to the previous behavior, you can switch a setting under the covers.*
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''media''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click '''media.windows-media-foundation.enabled''' to switch its value from true to false. Not sure whether this takes effect immediately when you reload the tab you were in or whether you need to restart Firefox before it takes effect.
    ''* Technically, this setting governs the use of code supplied by Microsoft for H.264 decoding. MP4s that use another form of encoding may still play after flipping this setting.''

  • IPhone video out problem

    I have a iPhone compatible composite video out cable. When I select a video to play, it plays (video/audio) on the TV for about 8 seconds then the video quits playing. The iPhone goes back to the video list screen. When I restart the video only audio plays back on the TV. The video plays on the iPhone screen. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Do you have the Apple Composite AV Cable? Note that there's a decryption chip in the Apple cable that's required for functionality with the iPhone. 3rd party cables don't work (although they may claim to work, they don't).

  • Video File problem N900

    I cant seem to sync vido files into my N900 through OVI but when I plave the files in hardrive mode the N900 still wont recognise them ??????????

    yes.  it does play avi files as that is the file type that the boot up screens/videos are in.
    this is the one that i am using now:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujF3bKDs52A
    and this one:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaIJ3e1kQ0k
    and this one:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neb56-0a26Y

    and this one:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-svLEHVq54
    and this one:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxEkFuNqLbs
    all are avi files.  i created the two long ones myself by taking a couple different ones and tweaking them.
    and when i select them to play out of my file manager, they play just fine.  they even show up in my video menu when i open of the media player.

  • How can I move a large video file from my iphone ... iMac / PC

    I have a large iPhone Video File that I cannot transfer from my iphone to my flashdrive as it is too big.
    I realize that I can reformat an empty flash drive using Disk Utilities and I should then be able to transfer the file.
    My question:  What do I select when reformating the flash drive so that it will be accepted by both a PC and an iMac?

    ExFAT would be the best file system format, as it will handle files greater than 4GB.
    If exFAT is not available, go for FAT32.
    Just FAT is too limiting, so avoid that

  • Video file not playing in Photos

    Imported photos/videos from a SD card. Performed this task many times before. This time, some video files display as "AVI", as opposed to displaying the first frame. The video will not play. The file is skipped when I use sweeping motion to go to next/previous picture/video.
    Also, I don't know how to delete the file, because I cannot select it.
    Most video files from the SD card work as they should.

    Any ideas? Is there a difference between the Quick Time 7 Pro encoding of an iPod/iPhone video file and the way a similar file is encoded through QUick Time X?
    Unfortunately, the latest iTunes update 9.2.1 has not solved the problem. I cannot get to the bottom of this. Quite frustrating. Any suggestions?

  • Questions on how to utilize still/ Video files from 3Gs using iLife 09?

    Hi,
    Just got back from a trip where I took a bunch of stills and videos using the my 3Gs. I just downloaded them onto my Mac using iPhoto.
    1. How do get the video files from iPhoto into iMovie as it seems that iPhoto imported it all.
    2. How do I get the images that were taken with Location services turned "ON" to display the location they were taken?
    3. Will location mapping also work with iPhone video files?

    Maybe someone in the iMovie discussion forum would know some of the specifics from iPhoto to iMovie. I thought I remember seeing a way to import straight from my iMove.

    Is your friends phone jailbroke? Also are you using the facebook app? If so then you need to ask the developer of the app what the problem is.

  • Unable to Sync Video files after Itunes 9.0.3 and iPhone software update

    This is my problem with Itunes- After I the Software Update program installed iTunes 9.0.3 yesterday, and I upgraded the iPhone software (to 3.1.3.) shortly thereafter. The iPhone upgrade failed (it froze). When I restarted the computer, I had to restore the iPhone and then I synced. I could not sync my video files.
    The apps, music and "push" items sync perfectly. However, it ignores the Movies, Podcasts and iTunes U files.
    In terms of the location for these files, all of my Library and Media files are contained in a firewire external drive. They have been there since I started up with iTunes many years ago. All worked well before the Install/Upgrade.
    Problem is- iTunes ignores the pointer in Preferences/Advanced/Location and creates an empty folder, named iTunes in the Music library (in my Home directory) at every sync (even if I delete it, it recreates it on the new sync).
    Question-Why does iTunes ignore the pointer, and create a new empty folder in Home?
    Thanks for your help.

    Apparently Apple doesn't bother to test their software updates. This problem was introduced last September and has persisted through a number of updates that were supposed to address the bug. Very discouraging. I keeping holding out hope that an iTunes update will eventually fix this feature that worked fine for years before iTunes 9 was introduced.
    Unfortunately, it is impractical to go back to an earlier version of iTunes.
    I have reported this bugs several times (via iTunes feedback). If Apple actually reads the feedback, they never respond.
    It's not like there are other vendors or unknowns involved: current iMac 24, new iPod Touch, the latest version of iTunes and iPod OS.
    So what do we have to do to get Apple's attention? Stop buying music? Stop buying Apple devices? I'd love to buy the new iPad, but I'm darned if I will if they are unable or unwilling to fix this bug...
