IPhone WiFi connected with checkmark, no WiFi Icon, No IP addresses listed!
No matter what I do, I cannot connect to my WiFi. I see the SSID with a checkmark in front of it, I entered the correct WEP password (in hex), I "forgot" the network and tried over dozens of times, I still cannot connect.
I always get the E for edge connection.
More strangely, I **NEVER** see any IP addresses listed in the fields!
I have a similar problem. When I leave home and then connect to another WiFi network, upon my return home... The Edge wants to take control even if I select my HOME Wifi. I go to Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings. Then I go back, select my Wifi home network, and make sure it is WEP Hex. No problem, but I do this almost daily. I sure hope that Apple issues an update for the software to cure this problem. When I called "Customer Service" the annoyed lady on the phone walked me through what sounded like a script. I asked her if she had this conversation much. She told me "at least 30 times since my lunch break".

I Believe you are trying to use personal hotspot so you can use your 3G/LTE on your pc.
If that's the question, you'll need to turn on "Personal Hotspot" in settings (it's right below bluetooth), then go to your Mac/PC and connect to your iphone as you would with a normal wi-fi connection. You can change the random default password in the same menu where you have turned on "Personal Hotspot" -

My opinion would be that it is likely not the ISP, unless you have complete loss of Internet service for all devices at the same time......it is the Comtrend device....

I believe that the problem lies with the modem, and not the ISP signal.

I can use the Remote app on my iphone to connect with my itunes library on my computer, but I can't connect to the Apple TV using home sharing with another computer in the house. I am using the same ID and password that the apple tv uses to connect with the other computer. Also how do I check what version of IOS that my iphone is using?

Are all the devices on the same physical network? I think you're saying all are set up using the same home sharing credentials.
If you've not done so restart all devices and your router.
If you can get any of the devices connected by ethernet to reduce the wifi burden that may help but to be honest I would not expect simply beoing on wifi to prevent devices/computers appearing in the list.
Does the other computer have any firewall or port blocking software running? -

My experience with hotel wifi is that it's an open, and unsecured, connection, but unless you agree to their terms on a launch page, you can't go any further or connect. Sometimes I need to force safari to come up and even make it go to a page, to trigger the auto load of the 'agree to our terms' page.
Unless your machine is work provided so maybe could be blocked from unsecured net access? -

Although your other devices connect okay, it would be worth resetting your router by switching if off for disconnecting it from mains power for 2 minutes and then switch it on again.

When I first unlock my iPhone, it says I have connection to internet. But when I do something that requires internet, it either does not load, or it gives me a connection error message. My iphone wifi icon won't allow me to turn it on
I got this new iPhone 4S about a week or two ago and my wifi refuses to connect! It won't even let me switch it on! This has never happened to any of my old iPhones before.

We just installed our soundbar and cannot connect our iphones with bluetooth. My friend has the same iphone (5S) and works fine.
He does have a different carrier (ATT) I have Verizon. I would not think that would matter. His iphone connection was immediate. We did repower the speaker and that did not work. My apple 3rd generation is plugged into my philips tv through a DVI to HDMI lead cable and the power cord to the mains. everything here is fine but then the optical cable has a optical to stereo jack converter on, which is then connected to a 3.5mm jack sokect to 2 phone RCA headphone splitter cable [just like the red, white and yelllow famously used for sound, image etc] regardless of all these efforts i still get no sound. Also when i play music for example i can see that it is being played with a little rectangal box on the bottom left hand side of the tv scree but there is no sound. I even tried to vconnct the jack cable converter into my speakers but no used still no sound.
