IPhone will not backup or delete Photo stream

So, this all started because I was trying to update my phone with to the iOS 7.1.2 but I wanted backup my phone to iTunes first. It would give me an error that it could not backup because of some unknown error. I thought maybe it was my pictures. I had over 5,000 pics from over the years. So I copied all of the pics to my computer then deleted them off my phone. Then I noticed that my photo stream still had pictures. I turned photo stream off in my settings and it asked me if I wanted to deleted all. I clicked delete. The pictures are still in My Photo Stream album on my phone and now I cant even access the album to manually delete them. It force closes every time I click on the Photo Stream album. All I really want to do is back up my phone. I have the iPhone 5S 32GB. It will not backup to the cloud either. I have tried to reset the lockdown folder, deleted all previous backups on my computer, deleted all photo stream pics on my computer and other devices.  Let me know if there are any solutions other than restoring my phone to factory settings.

I have deleted all photo stream photos on my computer and other devices.
You only need to delete them in one place because they are only in one place.
The Photo Stream cache on your iPhone has not been cleared.
Quit the Photos app.
Double tap Home then swipe up on all icons (to close them all).
Then reset the iPhone.
Press & hold both Home & Power until you see the Apple logo (about 10 seconds).
Now go back to Settings > Photos and see if you can turn Photo Stream On then Off.

  • IPhoto9.3.2 on 10.7.4 will not let me delete photos any more

iPhoto9.3.2 on a iMac i7 2.93 GHz with 12GB running MacOS 10.7.4 will not let me delete photos any more, neither delete, comman delete or even emptying the trash works since i updated it a week ago.
anyone else have the same problem or a solution?

Same issue, but it's more involved...  I don't use iphoto much, just to store photos, but I first noticed the problem about 2 months ago when trying to delete a photo.   It would not delete, and afterwards iphoto would hang on close, and trying to delete caused a crash entry in the log.    here's some details:
    OS X 10.7.4, and 10.7.3.  Possibly earlier.
iphoto 9.3.2, and one of the version 8's as well.  Recently updated it.
If you try to delete a photo, here is the subsquent syslog:

I have repaired, and rebuilt the database.  No change.
I have created a new database, imported 1 photo, and tried to delete it.  No change.
I have copied the database (duplicated).  No change.
I have deleted the iphoto preferences file.  No change.
I have removed the application, and reinstalled from my iLife 11.  No change.
I have removed the application and preferences folder, reinstalled from iLife 11.  No change.
In addition to not being able to delete a photo, these additional problems exist:
    Cannot delete an event.
Cannot move a photo from one event to another.
At this point, I'm fairly sure this is not a database issue.  I'm also certain it's not related to the new update.   Anyone got an idea that isn't related to the database?

  • Need help - my pics in photo stream on iphone do not all dowload to photo stream folder on my pc

have photo stream pics on my iphone, when my iphone is connect to my PC, some of the photos do not download onto my photo stream folder on my PC - need help with this

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
        •    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
        •    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
        •    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • HT4759 IPhone will not backup

Iphone 4 will not backup to Icloud, just sits there

If you get the error "Backup not successful" and you've tried deleting the last backup and trying to back up manually without luck, try the following test:   Go to...
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options.  Turn off all apps from backup and then do a manual backup.  If that doesn't work, then this post will not help.  If the backup works, then go back to the app list and turn some on and try another backup.  If successful, keep repeating these steps.  If it fails at some point, then try to zero in on the one app that seems to make the backup fail.  (I had this problem and found one app failing, probably due to a corrupt data file.)
This process will take time, but if a backup works with no app data being used but clearly fails with the original settings, then somewhere in the mix of apps is a "bad" one.

  • Photos taken on iPhone 6+ not appearing in My Photo Stream

This is very frustrating.   I have read the various comments in this space, none answer my question.
I am running the latest versions of Yosemite and iOS.
Previously photos I took on my iPhone 6+ would appear on My Photo Stream.    Since I have downloaded the Photos and replaced iPhoto this has not worked.
I am heavy user of this link for work purposes.   Its failure is deeply disappointing.
    Please help.

Make sure ipad is signed in with same apple id in icloud.
Make sure photo stream is on, on both devices.
Make sure camera app is closed on iphone.
Turn off photo stream wait a minute, turn back on, on both devices.
    Powercycle both devices.

  • My iphone will not let me delete downloaded photos.

How can I delete photos that were transferred through usb to my iphone 4?

I have never heard of it before that you can transfer photos via USB. The only way it might work is that connect you iphone with your PC using USB cable, go to my computer, click on your iphone icon, select the pictures you want to delete, and delete them by hitting a delete key. Try it, it might work. Let me know if it doesn't then I will try to find another way.

  • My iPad Mini will not let me delete photos I have synced via iTunes. I need to delete these photos to make space on my iPad. If you know how to delete them please tell me. Much Appreciated x

When ever I go into my Photos on my iPad and select the ones I want to delete there is no Trashcan icon so I am unable to delete the photos. Please contact me if you know how to delete photos synced via iTunes x

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • Hi I originally had my itunes on an old computer, but now I put it on a new computer. My iphone 4s still has pictures on it that were synched from the old computer, but are not on my new computer. My iphone will not let me delete them.

Hi my iphone 4s still has pictures on it from my old computer. I recently put my itunes on a new computer and the old photos albums can not be deleted off my iphone. It is taking up too much room and I want them off. How do i get rid of them if they are not on my new computer?

Yes.  You can import those current pics on your phone to your computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
then you can sync it back to your phone http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
If you don't want to do this, then you will have to live with those sync pics on yoru phone.

  • IPhone will not backup

I have an iPhone 3Gs, 16Gb that for the past couple months won't complete a backup. Backing up, the phone prepares for backup for about 1-2 minutes then backup begins. It reaches about, maybe 10% progress in about 5 minutes then essentially freezes. I've let backups proceed overnight and they make no further progress to completing after 6-8 additional hours.
For example, this screen shot was taken after about 7 minutes of backing up:
    http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Ankhanu/backupprogress1.jpg
This one was taken after another 50 minutes..
    http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Ankhanu/Backupprogress2.jpg
This one was taken at just past the 2hr. mark
    http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Ankhanu/backupprogress3.jpg
SOME progress was made, but it's pretty miniscule. If I let it go for several more hours, there's be almost no difference in progress.
If I cancel the backup at any point, the rest of the synch proceeds just fine, synching content (contacts, applications, music, pictures, etc) in a normal time. It just won't backup.
I've been looking for a fix for a while; I think my last successful backup was in maybe November 2009. I've come across references to certain applications causing backup issues, and to delete them; I did, with no result. I've deleted my old backups; no result. I've reset warnings, no result… I did a completely fresh install of Snow Leopard when I upgraded, and did a completely fresh install of iTunes… no change. I've tried giving the phone some hard reboots… no change.
I have seen one suggestion to delete all apps on the phone and then it will work… but this somewhat defeats the purpose of making a backup of your settings (I want to maintain my app settings)… and, well, that's a lot of deleting.
Any thoughts on how I can get a current backup of my iPhone?
    iPhone 3Gs 16Gb; OS - 3.1.3
iTunes 9.1 (and prior versions back to maybe Nov.09)
    System - 13" Macbook C2D 2.0; 2Gb RAM; MacOS 10.5.x through new install to 10.6.3

Interesting info on the cable. I am using my iPod cable... but I've also ALWAYS used my iPod cable (the cable hasn't even been taken out of the box) and it had worked just fine. I haven't encountered the other problems (freezups, etc) and it always proceeds to the backup progress, then it stops.
I have been deleting some of the extraneous apps that I really don't access that often and/or don't have any stored settings that I'll have to reset, and deleting some of the content from Good Reader to lighten the load a little on the phone. So far it hasn't helped, but I may not have deleted the right app yet; chances are it'll be one of the ones that I have to input account details into
I have another attempt in progress as I type, we'll see how it goes.
If this attempt doesn't work, I'll unwrap the synch cable that came with the phone and see if that makes a difference.

  • HT4528 How do i delete unwanted pictures from my itunes account? my iphone will not let me delete them on there and i cannot find an option on itunes to get them off of my phone

How do I delete pictures from my itunes account.  I have blank pictures that transfered from a different device and it doesnt give me an option of my phone to delete them.

There are no pictures on your itunes account.
Do you mean pics that are on your iphone?
Delete them the same way you put them there.  The sync process.
Open itunes, connect iphone, go to photo tab, select what you want, sync.
