IPhone will not reset will not activate
Hi all, I have spent hours trying to upgrade to ios5 on my 3gs now it will not reset or activate tryed on and home buttons .
It simply sounds like you don't have a good cell signal. Take the iPhone to an area with good cell reception and then turn then iPhone off and on again. Once it get a signal then it should activate.
If that doesn't work then take it to the neared store of your cell carrier for activation.

Iphone could not activate after software update
iphone could not activate after software update (iSO5). it reads, on itunes, "there is no sim card on the iphone", even though there is one in the phone. i tried taking the sim out and re-inserting it, but the same problem still repeats. Anyone to help?
Is there a sim in the iPhone?
Has the iPhone been jailbroken or modified to work with other
than the original wireless provider?
If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at
Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier? -

Activation issues are almost always the result of a device that has been hacked or jailbroken. If that is the case, no support can be provided here.
The other possible issue is a device running the iOS7 Beta. If that is the case, and you are a developer, sign into the developers forums for assistance. If that is the case and you are not a developer, try google. -

Iphone does not activate after update
My Iphone 3 does not activate after last update. What can I do? The system does not let me pass the activation process so it is totally useless now.
There are a number of things:
1. iPhone 3G cannot update to 6.1.2 the highest IOS is 4.2.1.
2. This is a sign that your iPhone was hacked or jailbroken. -
i updated my iphone 3gs from 4.1 to 6. and now its not activating it says could not activate
I am having the same problem. I have a iPhone 4 and I updated yesterday. The phone was not jailbroken or anything like that, so that is not the problem. It was during the update that the problem happened because the phone worked prefectly fine before.
The message is "could not activate the iPhone".

Hello I have restored my iphone 3g, but when I connect it to itunes tells me "stao has detected a problem with your iphone. Sorry, the iphone you connected may be damaged and can not be activated for service." Do not know anymore what to do. Help me!!

Can I buy an Iphone and not activate the phone?
And just use it as a normal 8GB ipod? Thats all I really want it for, and its $100 cheaper than the current 8GB ipod. Will all the ipod type functions work without activating the phone?

My IPAD2 saids that it can not activate because the activation server is down. What does this mean.
It was bought from an second hand shop, called cash conventors, which you give your old electricals in and you get money for it, then they put those electricals for sale and i bought this iphone that way
It was working fine before but i couldnt call people as it said "call failed" and then there was a call back option which leads you to the home screen !

I reset my second hand iphone and it will not activate.
i bought a second hand iPhone, and just recently found out it was jailbroken, i reset it and now it will not activate. i try to sync it with iTunes and says i have not inserted a sim, when i have. would anybody please be able to help me?
You restored the iPhone.
If the iPhone was hacked to be unlocked, restoring a hacked iPhone re-locks the iPhone to the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked with then new. -
I heard about all the problems with the new iOs 7 update but also heard Apple would force me to do it. I tried to update but didn't have enough space. Had to delete ALOT of my apps and still not enough space. Phone was working perfectly fine and message pops up that "I will not have any service until I restore to iTunes. I plug into laptop to restore and it forces me to update to iOs7. Takes 3 hours. It updates but phone doesn't restore. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips:reset to factory settings, recover etc. Got a new SIM card because it said I don't have one but I do. Apple support wouldn't help me because I was out of warranty, and said I would have to pay. Went to the Apple store and they couldn't fix it and said "it's a hardware issue" that will cost me $170.00+. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE NEW iO7 FRIED MY PHONE'S HARDWARE. The phone is on the HELLO stage and keeps searching but will not activate to server- it's temporarily unavailable. Have tried multiple times.I have a 3 year contract with Rogers and the phone is less than 2 years old. Apple needs to take responsibility for crashing my phone. I NEED A FREE NEW PHONE!!!
Restore it to factory settings, then set it up from your back up. Did this last year when I got my new iPod, and it worked. I have no idea why syncing OTA can sometimes glitch, but hopefully this will help.
