IPhone will not send comcast email

My iPhone suddenly stopped sending Comcast emails--still receives. The iPhone will send and recieve gmail and my work email from the iPhone. My iPad sends and recieves all three accounts including Comcast. I compared the email settings and the iPhone and iPad are identical.

Make sure the SMTP primary server is set to smtp.comcast.net, and that your SMTP server settings are the same as your iPad too (mine are SSL = Off and Server Port = 587). If they are, try deleting the account and recreating it again.

Its OK I gave up and turned off my iphone and turned back on and its OK now.

To Avoid Relaying:
If you are sending an email from, say, [email protected], but the return address is [email protected], that is relaying (you are using y.com's servers to send an email where the email "originates" from b.com). Many servers don't allow relaying to prevent spamming.
To make this work go into the email account settings, tap the account "button" that has your email address, go to the Advanced section in "Mail" if there is one, then go to "Outgoing Mail Server", tap it, and then tap "Primary Server", and in the Outgoing Mail Server enter your user name and password. It may say optional, but you need this.
Not all services provide this and the sequence of buttons I describe above may not be exactly the same for each address (look around if different). If you can't set the user name and password, then that email service does not provide a way to get around relaying.

Sounds as if you have a POP email account. If that is the case, then deleting the account and adding it back deleted those folders. They will be recreated as needed. As soon as you send an email, the Send folder will be created. As soon as you delete an email the deleted folder will be created, and the same with saving an incomplete email will create the draft folder.

It looks like your SMTP server setting for AOL is wrong. I think it should be smtp.aol.com.

Hmm, that is strange that your phone number is greyed out. There are a few things that we can try. First would be to turn iMessages off, then back on. See if you are able to select your phone number. Then if that doesn't work, turn iMessages back off, then reset the network settings....settings>general>reset>reset network settings, this will reboot the phone. Don't worry, it won't delete anything from the phone, it simulates a battery pull. Once the device comes back on, then turn iMessages back on. Keep us posted if that works!

I had the same problem. I went in and added my email address to iMessage and deleted the text to my friends that have iPhones and sent another to test it and it worked. Only thing is now my non iPhone friends don't receive my pic text. I had to turn off iMessage for it to work. Apple needs to fix this ASAP!

Are the other phones that can't receive messages iPhones? If not, that could be the problem.
