IPhone will not turn on past Apple logo...help

I recently restored my iPhone 3G and it died during the restore to factory settings. I let it charge overnight and then tried to power it on and it comes to the Apple logo on the screen for 10 seconds and then just shuts off again. I tried to connected to computer and still the same outcome. The computer does not even know its there. iTunes and everything else works fine because i hooked my 3GS up and it knows its there. What do i do next, take it to apple? Please help

Try to force it into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the USB cord. Press and hold the home button while plugging in the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Then you can restore your phone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • My ipod will not turn on past apple logo, unable to reset it and will not connect to computer, cannot reset software or change anything, help!

orignal screen when i tried to turn it on. after hours of trying it finally connected to itunes and just as it started to sync it disconnected and the screen went like this. help me please.
its a 2nd gen ipod and out of warrenty.

    Try here:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If the screen remains on and you can't turn the iPod/screen off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the article again.
From the sympton an appointment at the Genious Bar of an Apple store might be in order.

  • My iphone will not get off the apple logo screen. it also will not let me reset it and won't restore when plugged into my mac. what should i do?

my iphone 4 will not get off the apple logo screen.
I've been trying to rest it for several hours with no luck.
It also doesn't do anything when plugged into my mac,
itunes will not recognize it at all.
    what should i do?
    thank you !

Try DFU Mode Restore. Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer, hold both Home and Power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, then release the Power button, keep holding the Home button, for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Then click the Restore button of iTunes.

  • Iphone won't turn on past apple logo, can't restore. HELP

All of a sudden tonight, my iphone 4s restarted, but it only got to the apple logo screen, then restarted again.  It was doing that repeatedly every 10 seconds or so for the last few hours.  The only thing I could do was turn it off completely but only if it wasn't plugged in.  If I plugged it into a power source it kept restarting and I couldn't even turn it off.  But turning it off didn't do anything anyway because when I turned it on again it just continued doing the same restart cycle.  I tried a reset, which had no effect at all.  I tried to do a complete restore using itunes, several times.  It starts to restore but then I get a message "The iphone (iphone) could not be restored.  An unknown error occurred (9)."  I made sure itunes and OS X were up to date, restarted my computer, and tried again a few times with the same failed result.  And now the phone doesn't continually loop through the apple logo.  Instead, after the apple logo, it shows the connect-to-itunes screen (in order to do a restore, but like I said, that doesn't work) and stays on that screen for a minute until it turns off.  (But again, if I leave it plugged in, it doesn't stay off.  It keeps turning back on and it stays at the connect-to-itunes screen until I turn it off.)
So I don't know what options I have left.  As far as I can tell, I have a brick that lights up with an apple logo or itunes logo.
One thing that did happen earlier today that could be related: I tried to update my iphone (I believe I have 7.0.4 and it was updating to 7.0.6?) but something weird happened during the update (can't remember exactly) and I ended up having to restart my phone without it finishing the update.  It wouldn't let me update after that, which I didn't really care about, so I just left it with the ios version I had.  Then later in the evening this happened.
One other small thing to note (probably insignificant)-- When the phone kept going through the apple logo loop, right before the screen went black and it restarted, the apple logo would grow dim and there was sometimes a horizontal line across the screen, then it went to black.
If anybody has any ideas, please help!  It would be much appreciated.  I don't want to have to buy a new phone so soon.  Apple products are supposed to have a long life span!  And I've never jailbroken it or done anything out of the ordinary.

A lot of forums I've read said to put it into dfu mode or "connect to iTunes" to restore b
You want it in recovery mode, not DFU, which is used for hacking or on already hacked phones
What is Difference Between Recovery Mode and DFU Mode
Error 21 usually means there is hardware damage,
    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • My iphone will not stop showing the apple logo and rebooting

How can i get my iphone 5 to stop rebooting and actually show my screen. All it does is show the apple logo and then its goes away and the screen stays on but shows nothing. I can triple click to invert colors but that only makes the black screen white. My lock button does not work either so i cannot hard reset

It appears you have a hardware failure. Certainly the lock button has failed. Without that button you cannot reset which is the first thing to try in cases like yours. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • IPhone will not turn on AT ALL.  Help please?

Woke up this morning and my iPhone was off, it was on the charger the whole night. I tried to turn it on and nothing happened. Tried to put it in DFU mode and nothing happened. Tried plugging it into my MacBook Pro and nothing happened. Tried to go into DFU mode while plug in with iTunes open and absolutely nothing happened. I'm beyond frustrated. Does any else have or had this problem or know how to fix it?
I have an iPhone 3G, a year and 7 months old running iOS4.

im planning to do what you said tonight,
charge it for 6hours or more then unplug it then hold sleep/home button for atleast 10 seconds? and repeat till it opens? is that what you did?
cause my charger broke, and i let my iphone stay uncharged for 5days....
now that i bought a new charger and tested the iphone at school with friends chargers (wire) IT WONT OPEN. and ive been frustrated and on panic level for 2days.
i brought it at a store, the guy states it could be the battery or motherboard. ranging high prices just to fix it.
any other bright ideas incase your post doesnt work in the morning??
    Thanks in Advance.
    additional information:
the charger i had was breaking little by little where i had to push the copper wires close to charge and it was always charging and working, as soon as it got harder to mess around with and wouldnt charge with molded parts coming off that was connected with the copper wire i threw it away. then my 5days no charge began.
i hope this isnt anything serious. it was a gift from my oldest brother last week ago... imagine how ****** he would be when he finds out = O

  • IPhone 5 won't reboot past Apple logo. It will not show up in iTunes to perform a restore.

iPhone 5 won't reboot past Apple logo. It will not show up in iTunes to perform a restore. After the logo appears the phone will get switched of by its own. I updated my phone 2 days before.

The iPhone can only be serviced in the country where it has been bought, and it can't be shipped internationally to Apple Support, you'll or somebody else have to bring it personally. If you registered the phone with your Apple ID, you might not need the receipt, Apple Support should have your data.
Did you try to set it back to factory settings without using any backup afterwards?

  • Ipod touch will not turn on past the black apple screen

my ipod is an older gen (not sure which-before they added the camera) adn it will not turn on past the black screen with an apple. i have tried holding the home and lock button for 10+ seconds. i have also tried charging it haha.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Iphone 4 will not boot up, the apple logo does not go away

The phone will not boot up, the apple logo stays on and does not finish booting.  All I did was delete an app, I went to reboot the phone becasue it was running slow and now it wont boot up at all.  I've tried the hard reset and nothing

And then if that fails try this:
What is DFU: Device Firmware Upgrade
Step 1: Turn off your iPod touch / iPhone completely and connect to PC / mac
Step 2: Hold down the Power button for 3 seconds
Step 3: Without releasing the power button, also hold the Home button for 10 seconds
Step 4: Without releasing the home button, release the power button and keep holding the Home button  for 20 seconds.
Itunes will identify that you are in DFU mode.

Sammyhunter lets get you back in action! Has there been any physical/water damage to the device? Try pressing and holding the home and power button together. Once the Apple symbol appears release both buttons. Keep us posted!

  • My iPhone will not turn on, what should I do?

My iPhone will not turn on, I press the power button and the screen stays black, it's been on charge for the past hour and nothing is happening still. This has never happened and I've had my iPhone for over a year. What should I do?

Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • My iphone will not turn on.  Why?

My iphone will not turn on.  Why??  Help me please !!

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take 10 to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
