I have been successfully synching my iPhone with Outlook contacts & calendar on a PC running Windows XP. Does the iPhone sync with contacts & calendar under Windows 7?

Lots of variables here... have you rebooted the work PC and the problem continues?

Iphone Windows 7 Photos not recognised

I apologise as there are many questions reference the problems with iphones windows 7 & 64bit PC's but I cannot find a solution on here.
I have a new PC at work, 64bit & Windows 7. I do not have itunes on this PC, I just use it for charging & downloading photos.
On plugging the phone in, it see's it, but if I click on the import videos and pictures it says there is nothing on the phone... and there are. Honest!
I've also looked under explorer, which shows me the DCIM folder but that also say's there is nothing in it.
Any ideas? As it's confused the living biscuit out of me!

Actually, this just appeared in the window next to my last post - and although its ref an XP machine, seems its the 64bit is the problem, not the windows 7

As you probably know by now, iTunes and the iPhone are not supported on the 64-bit version of Windows XP. Though I can't say for sure, my guess is that they never will be since even Microsoft seems to be running away from the 64-bit XP as fast as they can in favor of Vista.
Well in that case - is there a way using itunes you can remove photos from your iphone? If there is, I might just have to 'annoyingly' beg work to allow me to install it. Meh.

Have synchronised iPad, iPhone, Windows Laptop and Windows Desktop. iPhone holds 500 Contacts whilst other devices only sync 170 Contacts. I have Shared several Contacts to get them over to iPad, Laptop and Desktop. Contacts then appear twice

I have Shared several Contacts via Message from iPhone. On creating new Contact from each Message, each Contact appears twice on iPad, Laptop and Desktop via iCloud. Assume that a Setting has locked out the Contacts other than the 170 that do appear as duplications indicate that each Contact already exists on the three devices. Appreciate any advice to see all 500+ Contacts on all devices.

Audiobooks normally only allow one download per purchase; this is also the case with alert tones, ringtones, and some movies. They need to be moved manually; if desired, you can network the computers and use file sharing instead of a thumbdrive.

Perspective animation inside iPhone window.

I am quite new to AE and need some guidance.
I do know how to do some basic keyframe animation and looking for some guidance regarding the process.
I already did some research so please help me fill in the gaps and correct me if i am wrong.
So basically my steps are
1. Creating 960x640 canvas (iPhone5 screen)
2. Animating assets inside
3. Pre-coming — will it create a mask at this stage to hide the scroll?
4. Re-sizing canvas to match my background picture with iphone
5. Applying effect to transform the comp and fit it on top of my iPhone so it looks like the screen. — Whats the effect name for this?

If the ipHone is moving you're in for a real surprise. Assuming your iPhone image is static, you're going to use corner pin. That's about all there is to it.
See the effects reference in AE help to learn about corner pinning. it will produce a scale and perspective shift for you. you will apply the four corners of the pin effect to the four corners of your iPhone window. This can get as complicated as you want it to but that's all you need so solve this one problem.

Safari Hangs and Can't Sync or backup My iPhone Windows XP on PC

I had this problem where I could not Sync my iPhone because it could not backup and at the same time, my Safri would open but just hange. This happend after doing some Widows updates and Safari and iTuines updates.The CPU usage went up to 50% for Safari and 50% for the mobile device process.
The way it was fixed, which was not my idea so I appologize to the guy that figured it ou, I would list him here if I would have remembered his name BUT, here ya go:
Open a camand window from the "Start Menu" Choose Run and type CMD. When the window opens, type this at the prompt: "netsh winsock reset"
reboot your PC and off ya go!

everything is up to date. i have the latest copy of itunes and my iphone has 6.1.3. I updated my profile as you suggested but still wont work. this is the only computer my iphone has ever been sync'd too so this is troubling to me that all of a sudden it wont sync or back up. should I do a recovery mode reset?

How to get rid of "Apple iPhone" window that opens in Windows 7?

Whenever I connect my iPhone 4 via USB to my Windows 7 computer, this window automatically opens. How do I stop this from happening?
I've already gone into Control Panel and selected "No Action" in the Events tab for this device. What else can I try?

Use the "Search Discussions" (upper right of this page) and use "question mark" as the search term. Limit the search to QuickTime.

Help getting .mov off of new 3gs iphone windows

Is there a way to get the videos u take off of the new iphone on a windows pc. I see lots of post for mac users but non for pc users. Any help please. Is there any good software out there or a workaround.

As for software I found one that will work it is called. Adobe Photoshop Album Stater there is a free trial that u can download. It will find the .mov and let u save it.

Cracked (physically) iPhone windows

I just got an iPhone two days ago, and ever since I have been telling everyone how great it is. Last night I dropped the phone from literally waist height onto a hardwood floor. The window now has a large crack running across the face.
I went to the local apple store and called the online help and got the same 'the warranty doesn't cover this' spiel. Of course they suggested to get it repaired for $250.
Am I wrong to think that it's reasonable to assume a cell phone can withstand this type of fall? It was really unremarkable. I was shocked to see the new spiderweb when I picked it up.
I wanted to get one for my wife, but now I'm not so sure. Has anyone had a similar experience? Was I just unlucky, or is this really a design flaw?

I would think that dropping a phone and damaging it regardless of who the manufacturer might be is not considered to be inside of the warranty protection.
If Apple were to fix every iPhone for issues outside of the warranty, while it may be a wonderful gesture, it is an extremely expensive proposition.
The repair, while it may be costly to you, is perfectly justified on the part of Apple. Does it cost them $250.00 to replace the glass, who knows.
It would be nice if Apple had provided an insurance plan for damage outside of Warranty. Apple probably would come out on the plus side of the P & L if they were to provide insurance for things that are outside of Warranty, like breaking the glass, or denting the case, or theft. Maybe someday.

Connection timeout on iBook, no DNS number on iPhone, Windows unaffected.

I have an iBook G4 and an iPhone 3GS which both have connected to the wifi here multiple times. Randomly, I find that my iPhone will connect to the wifi, but I will not get a DNS Number, Router Number, and nothing appears under Search Domains. On my iBook running 10.5.8, when I want to connect to the wifi I put in the password (which should have been saved btw) and it tells me Connection Timeout. The this that really grinds my gears is that the windows computers seem to be unaffected. I have reset the router a couple times, and followed steps found on here such as forgetting the network on my iPhone, deleting the network in the saved networks section under the Advanced in the Airport tab of Network in System Preferences. I don't know what else to do.

Sorry. The topic title got mucked up when I tried to paste in my System Information. And I can't paste it in using my iPhone without it going haywire. I can provide any details you need.

Folders in iphone / windows randomly changing name

A couple of updates ago the folders in my iphone4s suddenly changed names and now keep changing names - this makes it really difficult for me to locate the last images I took as the folder name has changed and using view by date / modified makes no difference. I have to plough through each randomly named, randomly ordered folder to find what I want.
This is connecting to PC running windows 7 professional via usb, no itunes, I do not want itunes.

OK, I've got it figured out.
Somehow, the permissions of the invisible .DS_Store file in my Applications folder was changed so that nothing I did as an Administrator was taking effect on a permanent basis. That is, only the System could effect a positional or size change in any given folder--but not me, the Administrator.
This is very easy to fix, thankfully. Launch "TinkerTool" (or some similar app) and check the "Show hidden and system files" box. Relaunch the finder to behold all the new files showing almost everywhere.
Open the offending folder "(Applications" in my case), and Get Info on the newly-revealed ".DS_Store" file therein. You will notice, most likely, that in the "Sharing and Permissions" area only the System can "Read & Write" to this folder. In my case the Administrator (ME!) was given only "Read" permissions . . . which I quickly changed to "Read & Write"!
I checked this setting with other non-problematic folders, and my suspicions were confirmed. They revealed that the Administrator could "Read & Write" to them--as intended.
All is well now. (Use TinkerTool to reset the hidden files, of course.) I have no idea how or why the invisible .DS_Store file was altered, but it is working as intended once again.

Just got my iTOuch, and plugged it it.Itunes says please use vista 32 bit or XP 32 bit for iphone.I have Itoucch on vista 64 bit.Can anyone help please?

Hey... Sorry to break the news... I had the same problem... Can sync the touch with vista 64 as of right now. It's hard to imagine that it will never work but right now it's a waiting game.
What I did is run VMware and installed an old version of xp. The touch syncs fine with it. I'm using the workstation version but the free server version of vmware should work as well. Then you gotta copy your music into the virtual machine.
Right now it's a pain in the ***... but it can be done. Lots have people have just been taking the Touch or Iphone back. Word of mouth is the Ipod Classic and new nano's work without a problem on x64.

can not seem to get bluetooth drivers to install ... altough i seem to remeber it had worked at 1 time ....

iMac 21.5 inch OS X Lion (10.8.4), Bootcamp 5 install of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
At the end of my install, I noticed that Bootcamp was not available from Windows (e.g., no hidden taskbar
icon). Other issues with missing USB drivers. Magic mouse worked ok, except the trackpad-like swiping
features were absent. Ran setup in the BootCamp folder of the thumb drive (not the setup in the thumb
drive's root directory), which indicated it was a continuing install (guess somehow the first one stopped
prematurely), installed all the special Apple etc. drivers for the Bootcamp interface with Windows.
After restart, all the troubleshooter warnings for USB devices had cleared, but Magic mouse was not
communicating with system.
Attached a standard Microsoft optical USB mouse.
Then, in Windows control panel > devices and printers:
right clicked the magic mouse's icon (was labeled apple-username's mouse)
selected Services tab
(Bluetooth Services refreshes, then shows checkbox for Drivers for keyboard, mice, etc (HID))
check the checkbox
Windows installs the driver and the magic mouse works with all its features in Windows.
incidentally, noticed that had lots of internet cutouts with both wi-fi and lan connected. maybe an issue
with my ISP, don't know, although issue only apparent in Windows, not Mac OS X.

I have been trying to solve this issue for months and now that I have my new iPad I would really like to get this figured out.
I have a new Dell running Window7 64 bit. Almost 100% of the time I can't sync any of my devices. They time out, or appear to be syncing but are not.
I have tried updating drivers, deleting and reinstalling iTunes, de-authorizing and re-authorizing accounts...basically everything I can think of.
The thing is, all of these devices will sync fine on my Macbook, and my 5 year old Dell running Windows XP.
Anyone have any ideas? I can provide more details if needed.
