IPhone won't call, error message in itunes
So I have an iPhone 3g, all updated and everything. My itunes says it can not read or write on the disk, also my iphone will not make or receive calls. It says I have no service when I should; I tried everything the troubleshooting website told me and to no avail. Sometimes it is showing bars when I try to call but it just ends up failing. My phone just now alerted me it was in recovery mode, I don't know whats going on.
It's really starting to **** me off.

I have never been so frustrated before in my life with any phone. I find it obnoxious as it is that I cannot simply drag and drop files (especially MP3's) straight from my PC directly into my phone, which I have been used to doing up until now. Everyone who convinced me to get the iPhone has instructed me that my frustration can be fixed by downloading iTunes and syncing it all up via that program (which I have never used before). So, I downloaded the program successfully, however when I connect the iPhone 4 to the PC and iTunes is open, I get an error message that 'iTunes cannot read the content of the iPhone "iPhone" and that I should go to the Preferences tab of the iPhone and select 'restore' to restore this phone to factory settings. First of all, I don't understand why I need to do that. I have already downloaded apps and other important things in the 2 days that I have the phone. I am also scared that it will erase my contacts. This is such a headache. Music is very imporatant to me, but I am getting so frustrated that I don't have freedom over the phone which I thought was supposed to be one of the best out there. I would really appreciate help in this matter. I am sure the phone is great but I am on the verge of taking it back and getting something else.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

I set up a playlist in itunes and when I try so sync it to my iphone, I get an error message "itunes could not copy "x" to the iphone "x" because a timeout error occurred. Using itunes 10.5.2.11 and Windows Vista 64. Any help? Thanks in advance!

Disconnected my iphone after software upgrade but while photos and my movies were still downloading. Now I get an error message that iTunes can't connect to the phone. How do I solve this? I am using a PC and have version 4.3.4 on my iphone 4.

Error message saying iTunes doesn't include software for iPhone
I get an error message saying iTunes doesn't include the software for iPhone. It says to uninstall and re-install iTunes. I have done it twice and both times I get the same error.

IPhone error message in iTunes
I got this error message in iTunes. It states, "The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. An unknown error occurred (-50)." Does anyone know what this means, and what steps (if any) I should take to correct the error? Thank you.

Your phone is disabled for some reason. Maybe you entered the wrong Passcode too many times. In any case you need to do just as the phone is instructing you to do. Start the latest version of atones on your computer and connect your phone. iTunes should guide you through the process of getting your phone working again. I backed up to my PC and attempted restore but I keep getting an error message that "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because not enough free space is available." I have a 32GB iPhone; only 13GB used!!! HELP! iCloud backup/restore did not work either! How can I resolve this problem to restore from back up.
If you're not a developer then you really should not have upgraded.
I'm unsure how you can fix this as you have already done a back-up on iOS 7 and apple don't support firmware downgrades. -
i get an error message saying itunes could not sync mail accounts. because the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone. It asks that i close the mail accounts settings on the iPhone and sync again. Is it requesting that i delete my email accounts?
just as i've posted the same issue here hope that someone could give us a hand. I have just swtched from nokia to iPhone for my company cell and i have more than 1000 contacts... it would be murder to create those contacts one by one )))))

There is plenty of space over 260gbAre you absolutely sure there's 20GB in use, and not that it has 20GB free? If you click on the hard drive icon on your desktop and click cmd-i to Get Info, what is the available space?

itunes wont completly download and install. it starts downloading goes thru most of the download then a pop up error message says itunes couldnt be configured and tells me to press finish and it closes

Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply. -

My iPods are working fine...this is just on our iPhone 3GSs....friend said his iPhone 4 was working fine with upgrade.
Tried: the winsock reset, uninstall/re-install of iTunes, shut the firewall down. Even called Apple...and after 2 hours of being told that "I'm savvy and have done everything they'd recommend" still with no fix...
Still: Takes over 2 minutes (not hooked up to phone) to open Edit-Preferences-Device...and can't find any backups?!?! Takes over 2 minutes to even open the phone to change spps, musice, books, etc....but won't let me do anything with contacts...wonder if this is what that error message is about (because I don't actually sync to an email program, I've just kept it all on the phone - mistake).
