IPhone won't charge with wall adapter

I bought an iphone 4s about a month ago. I noticed sometimes when the phone was pluged to the wall charger it did not display as if it was charging. Last week it started never charging unless it was plugged to the computer. I tried another iphone/ipad chargers with no luck, all of those devices did charge with my charger.

Ok. Try this first
Soft Reset - hold your device sleep button and Home button together for about 10 secs until you see Apple Logo.
Now charge it to see if it works.
If not, do a hard reset
SETTINGS / GENERAL / RESET / RESET ALL SETTING
Check your charging again.

Then make a backup, update the iOS, restore as new and test again. If issue persists with known good chargers/cables/outlets, only on this one device, get the iPhone 4S serviced/replaced by Apple.

My new ipad 4 will not charge when I plug it in with wall adapter? It shows the low red battery, the charge sign but also shows the plug in sign. The plug in does not go away.

If the battery has been completely depleted it may take more than an hour before the iPad becomes responsive again. Leave it on the charger overnight. If it does not charge up by the next morning make an appointment at an Apple store to have it looked at.

IPod 5th gen won't charge with wall charger

I just recently purchased a 5th gen iPod touch. I had a little USB wall charger for my camera and decided to charge my iPod with it. It didn't work and it charges on a computer just fine so it isn't the cable. I then tried using my friend's Apple wall charger which worked for his iPhone 4 just fine. That didn't work either but my iPod will charge with a computer. Any ideas?

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

IPod Photo won't charge with Power Adapter but charges through Computer....

Hi got this problem... searched the discussion board but didn't find any satisfying answers.
Hope somebody can help me out here.
Problem description:
My iPod photo won't charge using the power adapter from Apple. Bought a second one won't work, used different cables won't work either.
however it does charge via the USB port of the computer.
And it also charges via the car stereo plug (forgot the real name but it's from the apple store).
So does anybody have a similar problem? Could it be the iPod that is defective and also destroyes the Power Adapter maybe?
didn't try a different iPod to charge yet. So that's one thing left to try for verification.
untill then maybe somebody knows help, and it might be just a little setting thing.

from what you're reporting, i'm currently most suspicious of the electrical outlets you're using with those adapters. if you try switching it to a different outlet, does it charge properly then?

Charging with wall adapter?

Has anyone else had problems charging with a wall adapter? I've tried an apple adapter and one made by DLO with no success. The touch only wants to charge via a PC. Suggestions?

I just got an Apple charger yesterday at Best Buy. But you need to look carefully at the package - they had two different kinds which looked basically identical. But one box said it was compatible with the Touch and the other one didn't. Got the recommended one and it works fine. None of their third party chargers claimed compatability with the Touch.

I have had that same problem too i lost mine so I had to get a new one and that didn't work but I found my "stock" one. I would suggest that you go to the Apple Specialist store off of Nevada by the XFinity store.

Discovered my new Touch 2G would not charge from any of the USB chargers (2 Ac powered, 2 battery types) that worked fine with a Classic iPod. Found a knowledgeable expert at a Genius bar, and he brought out an adapter from the back that would connect Apple's thin connector for the output of a Classic power source to the input of the Touch - but it cost as much as a real Apple USB charger. Got a real Apple USB charger. As far as I can tell, the USB to Apple proprietary connect white cords are identical - I use the ones that came with the Classic, with the Touch, and with the USB charger interchangeably. The one difference: Apple's USB charger is rated at 1 amp; the 3rd party ones are rated at the usual 0.5 amp. I've since purchased a battery backup designed for the Touch and it does seem to work. It has 0.7 amp output instead of 0.5 amp. Recommended answer: just give up and get Apple's little USB power block (same as iPhone one) for about $30. It works, and it's small.

i have tried to charge my ipod touch 4 gen by a wall charger, or mains ac adaptor. it wont charge!! what wattage of voltage etc do you need to be able to have enough power to charge it?

My ipad air won't charge with any ipad made adapters! but will charge with my iPhone adapter. Oh and I bought my charger and adapter for my iPhone (that I now use for my iPad Air) at a store that doesn't relate to the officials apple store for only 12 dollars sadly when I charge my iPad Air

Since your iPad charges with the phone adapter, the iPad adapter (that is made by who knows) is the problem. You tried to save a few dollars and it did not work. Get a real Apple adapter and your problems will go away.

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.
