IPhone won't download from iTunes

My phone won't download stuff from iTunes.  It will show it downloading all the way but then will say Download Error, tap to retry

Ah, if that's the case (which it could be) or if it was pulled too early, you may want to restore the device:

  • Music won't download from itunes to iphone

    Hiya,
I have purchased music from Itunes App on my iPhone (4S with iOS7 update) and now it won't download to my music without being connected to the computer.  There are no restrictions to my data usage, iCloud is correctly signed in.  I have no trouble downloading other apps or books; only music.  Can anyone help me fix it please? (Obviously I could just plug my phone into the computer and do it that way but I'd like to be able to download without doing so)
    Thanks in advance,

I suspect this is the reason you can not download any more music from the cloud.
Don't you have backups of your personal data you can restore from?

I replaced broken iPhone and now I cant download purchases from iTunes because I dont remember answers to security questions? I have never had to enter answers before. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • Movie Won't Download from iTunes on iPad

I recently purchased two movies from iTunes using a gift card I got for Christmas. I started the download and once the first movie got too about 3.2 GB of 6.2' it stopped and started over for no apparent reason. I tried multiple times to download both movies with no luck the first 24 hours. Was hoping to have it for my flight for my vacation. Over the course of the next three days I have tried downloading the first movie at least 15 times on various WiFi networks, It always begins the download and then either restarts it on it's own or now gives me an error message saying the movie cannot be downloaded at this time, please try again later. I finally got the second movie to download after 10 attempts, but still no luck with the first. I know for certain I had a continuous WiFi connection every time. I am EXTREMELY frustrated at this point. I still have remaining dollars to spend from my gift card, but figure why even bother? I really hope someone can give me an idea which works. So far I have deleted the beginning download on multiple occasions and also tried restarting after this 4 times and nothing seems to work.

I have been having this problem since iOS 7 released.  I have a 32gb 3rd gen iPad.  I seem to have some artificial cap of 7 items from iTunes on my iPad at once.  Even with 6 movies I have 5.8gb left.  I only download the SD versions.
As soon as I hit 7 movies/tv shows on my iPad downloads fail almost 100% of the time.  They get near the end, freeze and then loop.  Ocassionally I'll get a "Unable to download" error but most times it just keeps going over and over.  Not only do I have this extremely annoying issue, but during this problem my iPad becomes nearly unusable.  While downloading, my iPad runs so poorly I'll open my cover or press the wake button and the screen will remain off.  I can press both buttons, open/close the cover and NOTHING.  It will stay like that for a minute sometimes.  IF it becomes usable apps will take 30 seconds just to open/close, scrolling is unresponsive for many seconds at a time and then scrolls all at once.  It almost as if the download is using all of the CPU's power.
I have 253 movies I've bought in iTunes.  I own 6 Apple TV's, 2 Retina Macbooks, 1 iMac, 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.  iTunes works great on all of those devices minus my iPad.  My wife's, which is the same model minus a cell connection is fine.  I am extremely annoyed with this problem.  I've started to loathe using my iPad and thats just rediculous.
If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears, I've tried these fixes:
Erased all content/settings and restored from iCloud Back up
Erased all content/settings and restored but DID NOT use iCloud back up. (I did notice downloads worked great for the first few weeks, then went to crap.)
Tried force restarting the iPad when its acting up
Used my Time Capsule's Wifi - No change
Used my guest network from my Netgear router - No Change
Used my parent's wifi today - No change.
This doesnt seem to be a widespread problem, I've had trouble finding help on these forums.  Apple is constantly silent and most other users never reply with the same problem.  I'm close to giving up and getting a replacement from Square Trade.  I will not buy a new iPad less than two years after getting that one, mainly out of protest.  I have little confidence in the Air doing much better or lasting longer than this current one.

  • TS2743 My podcast won't download from iTunes for anyone, anymore

Hi guys! I am the owner/host of Dorktown Podcast. Sadly most listeners (me included) are not able to download our shows off of iTunes. It has been on there for seven years and has been fine previously and nothing has changed from the feed. You can stream it but it won't download. The podcast feed and files are fine as they work on all other formats (including Stitcher). There is plenty of space on peoples phones or computer for the download.I
When I report the problem directly on iTunes it keeps telling me I've 'timed out' after I send the report even though it's only taken me seconds to paste the report and send it.
Please please please I hope somebody can help as it's driving me crazy that people can no longer download off iTunes.
    Thank you! -Mike

I subscribed to the URL http://www.walkingoliver.com/pak/wopodcast_xmlfeed1.xml in iTunes and episode 8 started downloading successfully. So perhaps the problem is solved?

  • Two iphones one cannot download from itunes?

My husband has recently got an iphone and has registered an account with itunes. The problem is that my account is stopping him downloading or purchasing from itunes on the pc and on the iphone.I go into his itunes account on the pc and download to his iphone, it looks as if it is working, but fails at the end. On his iphone he asks to purchase, but gets my user id from the itunes store, but if he enters my password it again fails.
I feel that we're doing or not doing something really simple - but don't know what.

Thanks for the reply - neither of us had thought of doing that. We like some music the same, but not everything, so thought it best to keep the accounts separate.
I've had a good read of a lot of similar questions and have worked out with all the help there what we were doing wrong. It's all working OK now thanks.

  • 3.0 won't download from iTunes

Newb question. I bought the 3.0 update (and got a receipt from Apple) but can't download it from iTunes. It shows as available for download but every time I try to download, I get the "iTunes temporarily not available" prompt. Any ideas/help would be appreciated...

I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to upgrade to 3.0. Then I read on one of the posts that every time you upgrade or anything from itunes it marks your registry, and you had to go in and delete the multiple registry entries, I tried that and still didn't work. Finally I just backed up all the music and stuff, formatted my computer, download itunes 8.1 and did a restore of the 2. whatever software and had no problem restoring after that. But I haven't tried to upgrade to the 8.2 itunes yet or the do the software upgrade of 3.0 again, I figured I would just wait for the bug fixes before I did that again.

  • TV shows won't download from iTunes on iPhone or iPad

I am using all of the latest iPhone software, I am on wi-fi, with plenty of space available (>5GB).
    -Open iTunes app store app
-Buy any TV SHOW (SD Edition)
-Buy button turns into "Downloading".  Red badge appears in download portion of iTunes App. (expected behavior)
-Unexpected behavior:  Red badge disappears.  "Downloading" button turns back into "Download" button.  Badge disappears from download area.  Nothing downloaded.
This also happens if I try to download any TV show from the cloud.

Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name in the left sidebar under the Devices heading - and then select Transfer Purchases from the pop up. That should transfer the movies into your iTunes library on your PC.

  • IPod touch, iPad 2, or my pc won't download from iTunes.

For two days I have been trying to download/update apps on my iPod touch and iPad 2. Any app I download will get half way done and then I get a message saying it can't download try again later. I have also tried to download/update on my pc. Apps will get about 10 mb downloaded and then go back to zero, and it does this about three times before giving me an error. Not really sure what is going on.

    Hello jkjr,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you are not able to to update some of your applications on your iPod touch and iPad 2 through the App Store on your device or through iTunes.  I found a tutorial for the iPhone that will guide you through steps to troubleshoot this.  The steps would also work for an iPod touch or iPad.  You can skip the first two sections and start from the section called "Close app":
    Using apps on your iPhone

  • Movie Artwork won't download from iTunes Store

I only saw one other post about this, and no resolution. Not only will is my artwork slow to download, some of it won't even download after 2 minutes. I have 1.25-1.3 mb/s DSL to an airport extreme base station. Every genre except HD movies only shows grey movie ticket icons and no artwork. What gives? I rebooted it once, and it helped, but then everything went away??? Is there away around this?

Contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form linked from the bottom of their Download FAQ web page (I recommend that you use the form, not the link in your Purchase History as they advise; that's not proven to be very reliable) and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • Music won't download from iTunes store

I recently purchased the Epicon album from the iTunes Store. 4 of the songs downloaded just fine but the rest gave me an error -50. I came on here and followed the instructions on how to fix it. It didn't work. Now I can't even get to the place to redownload them. Did Apple just make me pay for songs they aren't going to give me? How can I go about getting my money back if they did?

  • I deleted two user accounts from my MacBook Pro to create a third user account to consolidate all my duplicate files.  Now my Mac won't download from ITunes, nor re-load music from one of my deleted accounts.

I combined two user accounts on my MacBook Pro into a new, third, user account.  The biggest account in terms of my I Tunes library, past purchases, etc., was preserved.  The smaller deleted acount with about 40 I Tunes purchases needed to be "reloaded" into my "machine".
I went through the procress several times, meaning, "go to purchased", items not on this machine, etc, only to receive the same message of not having permission to download.
As well, I can't download new items form the ITuunes store.
    Solutions anyone?

My computer is the same I've had for a year now.  I didn't have a problem until I closed the two user accounts and consolidated into an admin account.
In my ITunes account it says I have "two computers authorized to play content".  There's a "delete these authorized computers" function.  I'm not hitting that button until I have to.
The help desk says to delete my downloads folder in ITunes and then re-download my previous purchases (I can't find a downloads file to delete) .or reload from Cloud.  I don't have cloud on my Mac.
    ARGH!!!!

  • My photos on my replacement iphone won't download from icloud

I had to get my iPhone 4s replaced & before going to the Apple Store, I did an iCloud backup. When I got my replacement iPhone, everything was transferred onto the new phone. When I went home, my pictures said "downloading". (I only had 366 photos) So I let my phone sit for a few hours, thinking the pictures would download. Well, they never did and my phone has been saying "downloading" on my pictures for 6 days now. Does anybody know what to do and could help me?

    Hello Kteko,
Connecting your iPhone to a power source and connecting to a Wi-Fi network can help complete the process.
After your settings and accounts are restored, your device restarts and begins downloading your purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content. You can use your device normally during this time, but if you receive an alert or are having trouble completing the restore, connect your device to a power source and make sure that it's connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Then wait until your device is restored to use it.
If you need help restoring an iCloud backup
