IPhone won't facetime with daughters iPod, using same Apple ID but different email addresses.... Help

how do you get two devices to facetime on one apple id

Yes you can use the same apple id to facetime with two devices. I just tried it between my macbook air and my iphone 5S using the same apple id. You just need to make sure the ipod is trying to call the iphone number.

  • Can you use facetime with same apple id but 2 email addresses (myself and my daughter)

I am having difficulty setting up Facetime.  My daughter and I have the 4thgen iTouch and are trying without luck to use the same apple id and 2 different email addresses to use Facetime.  Apple sends me a verification email to change the email address on the apple id to her email address, which I do not want.  Is it possible to set up Facetime this way.  If I set her up a separate apple id will all her old music and apps (under my apple id) still sync without problem?  Thanks

    Yes

However you can only sync all media from one iTunes library/computer. However, one can sync music and videos with different computers/libraries if you have iTunes setup to manually sync. See that method included here:

  • HT204053 I have iphone 4 and it is using my wife  . My new iphone 5 and old iphone 4 both were used same apple password, but different e-mail address . Now both apple id has beed blocked. What do I have to do.

My both of iphone id blocked. What do I have to do?

Sorry, but nobody here can help you nor can Apple.  The only way to disable Activation Lock on your devices is to use the password for the AppleID associated with that devices iCloud account.  There is no alternative - you need that password, or you need your friend to disable those devices in their online account.

Use separate Apple IDs for each family member and use Family Sharing features of those things (if any) that you do want to share. https://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/

  • 2 iphones 1 computer. updated my wifes phone to ios 5 her phone got wiped of all apps and all my contacts are on her phone. we had been using the same apple id but different user accounts on our laptop. How do i get her phone back to normal?

2 iphone 4, 1 computer. i upgraded to ios 5 and just updated my wifes phone as well. her phone got wiped of all apps and all my contacts were put on her phone. we had been using the same apple id but different user acct on our laptop. How do i get her phone back to normal??

Have your wife log in to her user account on the laptop. Launch iTunes, then connect her phone to the computer with the USB cable. Sync. That should put back all apps and media. Since you already upgraded her to iOS 5 she'll have to manually enter all her settings and preferences, and organize her home screens.

"The reply" as in the Rescue email to reset your Security Questions? If so, then you will have to contact iTunes Support directly to get them reset:

  • HT203808 I have an iphone 5 and an iphone 5s and an i pad all asociated with the same apple id, however the email address is no longer in use and i need to delete this off the devices but get incorrect password info everytime i try to reset it.

I'm having trouble deleting an apple id from both my iphones and ipad mini. The email address is no linger in use and evertime i try to reste the password i get  the incorrect message. I'm struggling to delete the aplle id account on all these device. please help!!!!!

You are obviously talking about a password that you need in order to delete the iCloud account since you do not delete an Apple ID on a device, you sign out of it and sign in with the new one.

  • How to use FaceTime with 2 devices on same apple id

My husband and I share an apple ID account, and each of us has an IPad and we want to be able to FaceTime each other, but both devices see us as the same person.  Is there a way to separate our devices within the same account?

You each need your own Apple ID. It's the same as trying to call a phone with the same number. You can't.
I suppose you use the same Apple ID to share apps. You can still do that. Just create a new Apple ID for the second user and log into your device using that ID for FaceTime and Messages only. In Settings > iTunes and App Store, use the shared Apple ID.

  • Does FaceTime audio call use the Apple ID instead of email address or phone number?

My wife and I each have our own iphones.  The Facetime audio calls come through OK for each one of us, as the calls are set to be received on each of our own email address and phone numbers (so there is no issue here).  But when Facetime audio calls come through, both phones ring at the same time.  I am guessing the FT audio calls (unlike the video calls) are using the Apple ID which is the same for both our phones.  Is this the case?  And if so, is the only fix, to set the phones on different ID's?  Why are audio and video calls set up differently?

It depends upon the device that they are on - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319
To call someone using FaceTime, you need their phone number or email address. Which one you use is determined by the device you are calling:
When calling someone using an iPhone 4 or later: Try the phone number of the person you are calling first. If the person has registered an email with FaceTime, you can use that as well.
When calling someone using an iPad 2, iPod touch, or FaceTime for Mac: Use the email address designated for FaceTime of the person you are calling.
On iPad 2, iPod touch, and FaceTime for Mac, you need to add a person as a contact using the FaceTime or Contacts app before you can call them.

  • Problems with multiple devices using same apple ID

I have a Macbook, iPad and iPhone. After doing an IOS update now my devices keep saying I cannot use that same appleid because it's already taken. I cannot find away around this and want to know experience of others

That warning occurs only if you try to create a new Apple ID using an email address already in use. An existing Apple ID can be used with mutiple devices.
What exactly did you do when you got that message?

  • I have an itunes account with 3 ipods can we each have our own email address

can we have our own email address if we share the 1 itunes account???

There can be only one emailladdress accociate with an Apple/iTunes ID.  However, after you initiall set up the Messages and FaceTime apps with the Apple/iTunes ID you can add another email amessaging/calling addresses and delete the Apple/iTunes email address.

  • How do you use family share when we all currently use the same Apple ID but different iCloud accounts?

our family is currently using all the same Apple ID so we don't have to purchase thing twice, but now I want to set up the family share. Do we all have to have our own Apple ID to set up the family share? We do all have separate iCloud's accounts, I'm not sure if that even makes a difference.

    Hello me1002,
That is a good question. Everyone will need their own Apple ID that is signed into iCloud and iTunes. When setting this up, someone will need to be the Organizer so whom ever it is will champion this. Then everyone else will need to sign in to each respective accounts and then the organizer will need to send out invites to join Family Sharing. If you get that all setup, remember that when making purchases from those Apple ID will belong to that specific Apple ID so if anyone leaves, others will not have access to that purchased content.
Start or join a family group using Family Sharing

  • Bought iPod on the apple store but the wrong address not yet dispatched

    Hi,
I bought an iPod on the apple store online and checked everything before submitting the order. However when I got the conformation email the delivery address is not what was set. Now apple have all their offices closed today (typical), is there any way of contacting apple in regards to this matter as I do not want the order to be processed as if it does then there is nothing they can do IIRC.

I think your goal is to speak to a person. So I would call 1-800-myapple and select the option to get a sales person, not a service person. +Service for an existing order+ may be closed on the weekend, but I can't believe they would be closed over the weekend for a +new sale+. That would be like closing the local physical Apple Store on weekends.

Have a look at this article on sharing iTunes and see if it does what you are looking for. It was written for iTunes 4 but the version doesn't matter:"iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93195
