IPhone won't scroll through or click on messages

I can Scroll and click while in any other app or on any setting in my phone, but for some reason I can't scroll through or click on messages at all while in the inbox. Since I use texting more than most other apps, this is really frustrating! Help!

Close the Messages app from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the Messages app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
Try Messages again.

IPhone 4 cannot scroll through a certain spot on the screen

This problem is intermittent, so I first assumed it was a software problem, but it has been restored both at home and at the Apple store with no success.
About 50% of the time, I cannot scroll through the bottom 10% of the screen. For the most part it isn't a huge deal, but on apps like Words With Friends I cannot drag letters up from the bottom. On certain webpages with a "yes" or "no" option at the bottom, I cannot click either one. Sometimes I'm able to to switch to landscape mode and bypass the problem, but not on all apps. The keyboard also goes wacky periodically while sending text messages (as in some letters will not "click" at first, and sometimes each click produces 5 or 6 of the letter).
Running 5.0.1 on an iPhone 4.
Any suggestions?

I am quite new to the program myself but over the last few weeks editing one particular image I have found that this program will do practically anything I want. I just persevere through each frustration and eventually figure it out. I just wish it were easier to remember what I did to get the result...oh wait, there is a way for that too lol.
I believe you will find it best to have your image on its own layer.
As for the rulers, check to see if it is turned on, I believe that choice would be under the tab at the top labeled VIEW? Not in front of puter right now so not sure exactly.
Also, you might want to check your settings for many of this type of feature in the PREFERENCES area.

Adobe Reader 11.0 won't install through firefox - I click save file when requested it switches to Step 2 of 3 but nothing is there and I have waited for a very long time for it to load. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Pat,
After your last email I decided to continue to trouble shoot the problem and finally found the answer from another user. Oddly enough when using Firefox it will default to a location on your computer to save downloads. If it encounters a problem it doesn't identify it, the program just "loops" back to the start of the download sequence. Once I changed the folder that the downloads are sent to the original way of upgrading occurred without fault.
I will go back into the discussion group and credit you with the answer because I really appreciate your assistance.

My mouse wheel won't scroll through tabs

I can't remember if it was right when I updated to v.22, but if not then it was shortly after that my mouse wheel stopped working for scrolling through tabs. I can still scroll through pages just fine, but even on safe mode and with hardware acceleration disabled, if I put my cursor over tabs and scroll, nothing happens.

note that to scroll through tabs with mouse wheel, you can position the mouse cursor, between the two arrows at each end, of the row of tabs. That means that you have quite a few tabs to see the arrows at each end.

My ipod won't scroll and instead clicks wherever my finger slides to

I hadn't used my iPod in about a week and its pretty broken,
I try to scroll through, say my settings, and instead to scrolling down it clicks on wherever my finger lands,
will only scroll sometimes but in short bursts, meaning it can take a long time to scroll through a simple message.
Any ideas?

AT&T can't help me -- no one else has this problem, even though we're all on the same server from my company. I have restored to factory settings, but it didn't help. My email account settings are correct, the same as on my computers, and I can trash old messages on them.
What do I do now?

I have had a similar problem recently and followed advice here. Specifically, I used the brute force approach. As suggested by this site, I strongly urge you to backup your mailbox before trying this fix - just to be on the safe side.

Iphone won't connect to internet or send messages

My iPhone won't connect to the internet at all nor will it even send SMS messages. I've already tried resetting the network settings and that did not work. Are there any other solutions out there for this problem?

Your right....I can't believe it. I disconnected my phone from my wifi. Shut it down and turned it back on. Sent myself an email message and on the 3G network phone picked up message immediately.
Now I am seeing if the 30 minute rule you had still applies here.
What a mess...but I gotta say, Love the phone, better battery, amazing screen, faster....just a few things that are really important going wrong!

TS4268 My iPhone 4 keeps freezing when i click on messages.

When i click on messages in my phone, the app opens perfectly. then after a few seconds it freezes and exits. This happens to all my conversations and group chats.

IPhone Contacts Won't Scroll Through Alphabet

When I go into the contacts on the home page, or the contacts in the phone area, I cannot use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen. I can only make it go to the search (top of the page) or the As, and there are more than As in the contact list. Worked fine in previous version and noticed it didn't work immediately after upgrade, since I use it a lot. My wife's phone, which is identical, does scroll? Tried turning off and restarted multiple times.

Your comment got me thinking about what was different between our phones, which is I have the exchange server option. So I went into the settings for that account, turned off the contacts for outlook and I could scroll once again. Turned the contacts back on, and everything is working perfectly again.

Wallpaper on iPhone 3GS - Automatic scroll through Photo Library?

On my MB I have set as Screen Saver a set of photos that I have installed in System Preferences/Desktop & Screen Saver. I have set the whole thing to toggle through the different photos in the Screen Saver folder.
Now I have synced iPhone to import that Screen Saver folder. I have found no way to have iPhone toggle (automatically as in the MB) through the photos.
Is it possible? How?

IPhone won't charge through dock but will through same cable

Hello All
I have been facing some weird issues since last couple of weeks. I will try to be as clear and descriptive of my problems as I can.
What I have:
I have an iPhone 4S, two iPhone docks I bought with the 4S.
Current setup:
One dock is connected to wall mount through iPad charger.
Second one is connected to my thunderbolt display.
What does happen:
I am able to charge my iPhone when I connect with either of the cables directly (removing the docks).
What doesn't happen:
I am not able to charge my iPhone when I connect with either of the cables with either of the docks.
Any thing shown by device:
It doesn't give any error messages, just the charging symbol changes to "Full Charge" symbol and I think (I think) it charges the phone really really slow.
What I tried doing:
Googling the problem (and failed)
Restarting the iPhone
What I am looking for:
Any one got any clue as to what could be happening? or any steps that I should follow to perhaps find a solution to this?

IPhone won't charge through iTunes

My iPhone 3G will charge when I conect it to the AC Adapter, but for some reason today it won't charge when I connect the same wire to my Macbook. iTunes does not recognise the phone and so therefore I cannot swap tunes on it.
Any ideas?

Would upgrading to Mountain Lion fix the problem please?

I doubt that upgrading the OS to Mountain Lion would help. The problems could be with the mouse itself, or with your system software. Try booting into your Recovery parition (holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting) and resinatll Lion (your data will not be affected).
If reinstalling the OS doesn't help, you've likley problems with the mouse itself.

IPhone won't change from iMessage to text message

My colleague had iPhone then had to get rid of it. He no longer gets my texts as my phone is still using iMessage to text him. I erased his cell number and re-entered it and that did not work. What can I do to make my iPhone use text messaging to him now?

He should have turned off iMessage on his old phone before getting rid of it. If he ever registered it with Apple, he might be able to do the following:
Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
Click on "edit products"
Click on the "x" to the right of the product.
Click "unregister"
Unregistering it often deactivates his number with iMessage.
