Iphone won't start after crash

My iPhone 4S crashed and restarted but fails to wake up. It restarts but then stops and restarts again. It won't stop until the battery is dead but does the same as soon as I plug it in.
Can I wipe and reset to factory without connecting it?

My iPhone 4 just crashed. It happened a few days ago, and then started working fine. But once again it crashed yesterday. It took me 2 hours for itunes to finally recognize it so I was able to restore it. It worked fine for an hour and crashed again, now it will not start up at all. The screen went from the regular black with the apple logo to now flickering and acting crazy. Ive had this phone since August as a replacement from my old iphone 4. I'm not impressed. It's in perfect shape, i have not dropped it or got water into it. I have an appointment with Apple today in hopes they'll have some sympathy and simply replace the phone since the phone they gave me refurbished was  defective (the sound stopped working a few months ago) I refuse to pay a cent for an iPhone 4 to be repaired. Depending on how they act today, will be the decision of whether I stay with Apple or move to Android.

My iphone won't turn on after 4 hours after I reset all settings. What do I do?

After then, connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes. Click Recovery iPhone and then follow the prompts it tells you to do.

  • Open Directory won't start after crash no logins

Server was crashed due to work in the room. OD will not start. I've tried every fix I can find, but the main problem is that this command will not work:
    sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.openldap.slapd.plist
I also have time machine backups but which files should I replace? Thanks

    Hi,
First thing to check is that DNS is set up correctly.
    in Terminal, type:
    $ sudo changeip -checkhostname
This should return your server IP address, current hostname and DNS hostname; the hostnames should be the same.
Finally it should issue a message that says:
The names match. There is nothing to change.
    dirserv:success = “success”
if there is a mismatch here, you will need to fix in the Network tab of the Server app, and the DNS settings.
It could also be a problem with a remnant of a previous OD setup although you say that you are attempting to set it up, so not sure why there would be a remnant.
You can "clean out" the old LDAP info by issuing this command but it will wipe out your Open Directory databases on the machine you issue it on; you have been warned....
Doing this will then let Server app prompt you in the OD settings to 1. set up OD or 2. restore from an archive.
    The command is:
    $ sudo slapconfig -destroyldapserver
Finally , if you are having problems, turn on logging:
    $ sudo slapconfig -enableslapdlog
this writes OD logs to /var/log/slapd.log
Hope that helps. I had that exact issue on a server that was hosting a replica and that stopped working after update of server.app .

  • Quicksilver won't start after crash

Intermediate Mac user with a significant problem...
So, my Quicksilver started having problems a few weeks ago - when I would startup, I would get a message saying I needed to restart the computer. After finally getting the Leopard install disk back (we had a family pack), I diagnosed and fixed the problem (it was an invalid leaf count, whatever that means). The computer ran fine again for a day or so, but soon after I sent the install disk away to my brother-in-law, I'd get the folder with the question mark when I tried to startup. After trying to hook it up to my MacBook as a Firewire drive or to use the Disk Utility that came with the MacBook install DVD for a few days, now the computer won't startup at all.
I tried zapping the PRAM but had no luck. At the Apple Store, they told me that the power supply was dead and that they no longer supported computers this old. I wouldn't be too hurt if the computer were dead (I was getting ready to replace it anyway), but I'd like to get the data without paying for a data recovery service if possible. So, here are my basic questions:
    1. I made a Time Machine backup to an external drive when I upgraded to Leopard, but my External Drive filled up and I stopped the backup. However, I still have the Backups.backupdb folder on my External Drive. Is there anyway to extract the files to the External Drive or to my MacBook? (I also posted this in the Time Machine forum, but have not heard a reply yet).
    2. What options do I have for recovering the data? Keep in mind that my power supply seems defunct. I discussed some options with my brother-in-law and he suggested buying an external partition for the drive (or something) - is this a good idea or is there a better solution out there?

You may have one or more fans that are not working. My Quicksilver recently would not start up. Two of three internal fans were dead (CPU fan and PSU fan). With only the case fan left to cool everything, the processors quickly became too hot to function reliably. Replacing both fans got the machine working again.
If the Apple employee who diagnosed your machine saw that the PSU fan was not turning, that may have led to a diagnosis that a new PSU was needed. But the PSU fan can be removed and replaced on its own, for perhaps 10% the cost of a new PSU.

  • Won't start after crash

My computer freezes showing multiple line patterns across the screen.  It can only be turned off by holding down the power button. When attempting to restart it beeps 3 chimes & the screen stays blank. Help

That is usually the sign of bad memory. Replace your RAM to see if that fixes the problem. If not, then you may have a failing GPU. Take it in for service.

Songs in MUSIC on my iPhone 4S won't start after tapping the START icon.

Make sure that is completely dried out. You can put it in a bowl of dry rice to ensure this. Otherwise its likely that the water damage ruiend a comonent. Try letting it dry, and if not take the product into apple. Unless you know how to take phone apart safely and look at the internal components.

  • Safari won't start, after installing X Lion

Safari won't start, after installing X Lion

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
    Step 1
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • IPod on iPhone won't start up

The iPod on my 3g iPhone won't start up. I touch the button and the iPod begins to "start up". The screen goes white like it's loading and then nothing happens, until finally it returns me to the home screen. I've tried accessing the iPod from the bottom row button, from iTunes on the phone, and by double-pressing the Home button. I have turned the phone off and then back on. I've held the Home button for 6 seconds, and I've also done a reset with the Home and Sleep buttons.
    Any ideas?
The other night it worked fine. I accessed the iPod and found a song I was discussing with a friend. I went to bed, woke up, and the iPod wouldn't load/open. It hadn't been charged or synched. No app or song downloads in between uses. No drops, no damage, nothing. I have an 8 gig and I have less than 1 gig of space left free. Could this be hampering the iPod launch?
    Thank you.

You'll have to reinstall the iPhone's firmware. Open iTunes up, right click on the iPhone on the left hand side and select backup. The backup has been adjusted in iTunes so that it will also backup your camera roll, but if I were you I would make a copy of all your pictures just in case. After the backup finishes, click on the Restore button on the iPhone home page in iTunes. After the reinstall, it will prompt you to restore your backup to your iPhone. After the backup is restored, sync your iPhone with iTunes and all your data will be back on the iPhone.
Let me know how it works for you.

  • C3-01 won't start after charging

I'm so angry right now but I will try and be cool about this!
I bought C3-01 mobile phone about four months ago and it is already causing me problems.
The mobile phone simply won’t start after charging. Last time i charged it, it miraculously came to life only, and only after annoying me for about hour and a half. Now I fear it is completely dead!
Battery was not completely empty so the phone should still start even if the wall socket is broken. Which is not, wall socket works perfectly.
Nothing helps! I tried removing the battery and then restart. Removing the battery then removing the sim card, memory card and that piece of “advanced technology” simply won’t start!
I didn’t buy my new phone so that I can use my old Motorola mobile, which btw., still works after 4 years of intense usage.
I will never buy Nokia again!

    Hi,
Sorry to hear that your phone is not starting after charging.
I would suggest one more thing, which maybe helps. If you have another battery, please try.
If not,  i would recommend to visit Nokia Care Point in your area.

  • Mac Mini won't start after installing OS X 10.6.3

My Mac Mini won't start after installing Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3. When I turn it on, the Apple logo appears and the initialization line starts to fill, but it suddenly stops. It does that again and stops at the same point, but this time it shuts down. What should I do?

If you are coming from 10.5.8, hopefully you backed up your important data first. Your mini will need at minimum, 1 GB of RAM to install Snow Leopard and at least 5 GB of storage remaining on your boot drive.
I treat 10.6.3 as a fresh, full install over a 10.5.8 system. That means I choose Disk Utility from the Installer's menu and repartition the boot drive as a single partition, Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) format, and use the GUID partition scheme from the options button. At this point, while still in Disk Utility, I would verify the drive under First Aid.
Then I turn the installer loose, and reboot into a working 10.6.3 system, ready for the software updates that take the machine to 10.6.8.
So, following the above guidelines, reinstall 10.6.3.
