Iphone won't sync with itunes as my Mac software 10.5.8 means that I cannot update Itunes.

Hi, I updated my iphone's software to ios7 but can't update Itunes to 11.3 as my is Mac software is 10.5.8 (needs at least 10.6). I can't sync my iphone to itunes now because of this- I can't afford to update my Mac software so i am wondering if there is an alternative?
If I restore my iphone to its factory settings, would that bring it back to the older software that was on the phone? Thanks in advance!

You have to upgrade to 10.6.8 to be able to download iTunes 11. The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. First off try and go into your IPhone manually through My Computer and cut photos or anything you can through the device to be able to free space up so that you can continue to do what you want to do with ITunes. This way you will be able to create a backup or do what you have to do to manage your information, photos and texts on your device a little better.

iPhone won't sync with iTunes. It just says, "waiting for sync to start." But no matter how long I leave it like that, it never syncs. Wirelessly or via USB. I have restarted both my computer and my phone. I have deleted and reinstalled iTunes. I have installed the latest version of iTunes and the software on my phone is up to date. Nothing seems to work.
Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

Is synching over wi-fi viable? I've never done it, but when I tried something similar back in the old Palm PDA days, it was S-L-O-W, slow as molasses. I realize that the i-device are far more modern with faster processors, but wondering whether it's even worth exploring doing this.

Did you check your secuirty software settings? iTuens needs to contact Apple during the sync process.
Also try to remove all Apple related software and reinstall iTunes after that. Removing iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista and 7

After switch from Outlook to Mail, iPhone won't sync with Address Book

Good morning
Using Lion, I recently dropped Outlook 2011 in favor of Mail (did not uninstall though, do not want to).
My problem is this, iTunes and iPhone won't sync with Address Book, they remain stuck on syncing with the Outlook address book. The issue is only for the address book, the iPhone syncs fine with iCal for some reason.

Did you try hooking them all up to iCloud? That should do that trick for Address Book and iPhone.
Alternatively, you could try connex.io. You would be able to sync all of your contacts between iPhone, Address Book and Outlook (and more if you want to). I have an iPhone 4S,7.1.1, and my MacBook Pro is still running 10.6.8, waiting to update to Mavericks as soon as I have some down time. My phone won't sync with my computer. I am getting an error message (-50). ITunes is also asking me if I want to sync my Podcasts, etc. with my computer when I first open it. I am assuming part of the issue is that I have 2 Apple ID's. One for my computer (this one), and another for my phone and iPad. Can I merge these identities? It this my problem or is there an incompatability between 10.6.8 and the new 7.1.1 OS on my phone?

After upgrading to iTunes 10.6 my iPhone won't sync, neither with wifi or usb. Thephone won't even show in iTunes, even if I connect it via cable. If I go to the setting on my phone I'm told that the sync will resume as soon as my computer is avalible.
Anyone know a solution for this problem?

I'm not sure what happened, but iTunes won't sync with my iPhone 4 anymore at all. I changed my DNS server settings on my Mac and iPhone (because of stupid Comcast) and now I can't sync using wifi or usb. I reverted all my settings to how it was before and it still doesn't work. I'm all out of ideas and its starting to **** me off so any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

My iPad or iPhone will not sync with iTunes. I have googled it and none of those suggestions worked. I don't see the device listed in the sidebar or on the top. It doesn't recogonize the unit when I first plug it in as to what I want to do. I have shut it off and turned it back on but nothing happens. All the software is up to date.

Iphone won't sync with new installation of iTunes

I had to reinstall iTunes in a new laptop, and then copied my music library-file from the old iTunes-installation. Now the iPhone won't sync the music files. For some of the music I've bought in iTunes it says "You have to copy this music manually", but there is no such option in iTunes, as far as I can see. And by the way, afterinstalling 5.0.1 my contact-information is trippled, or every name and phone etc. is listed three times.

Last time I synced was March 17. Can't remember if there's been updates on the phone. None on the laptop.
I'm so annoyed.
I've done the usual shutdown/on again stuff. Just can't get it to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermind. After reading through a bunch of fixes, one suggested resetting my modem, duh!!
I certainly know to do that when the laptop is acting up, had no idea that would fix the iPhone too!!

My iphone 4 won't sync with my Outlook 2007 calendar. It was working fine a couple of days ago and now it won't sync!! Help!!!!

Does iTunes Show an error message?
How did you setup syncing with Outlook, are you syncing them via iTunes using USB or Wi-Fi or an Exchange server?

If you aren't sure try setting up USB syncing again, just connect the iPhone to the computer, open iTunes, click the Info tab across the top of the screen, scroll down to Contacts and choose to sync contacts.
Contacts
To sync contacts with your computer, choose "Sync Contacts with" within iTunes for Windows, or "Sync Address Book Contacts" on your Mac.
You can sync your contacts with:
Microsoft Outlook 2003, Microsoft Outlook 2007, Microsoft Outlook 2010 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7)
Windows Address Book (Windows XP)
Windows Contacts (Windows Vista / Windows 7)
Address Book (Mac OS X)

IPhone won't sync with Outlook calendars

My iPhone was set up and syncing fine with my work email address (Outlook 2010). Then I had a second email account added to my Outlook so that I could get within an agency's address book and such. Once that happened, it stopped syncing. I've tried clicking in iTunes to "Replace information on this iPhone" and resetting the sync history. No dice. I've tried uninstalling iTunes and Apple device support and reinstalling, and that didn't help. In iTunes I have the choice of All calendars or Select calendar, but only one calendar (called "Calendar") is my option, and it doesn't sync either of my Outlook calendars.
Any ideas?

Just to add to this. Another thing I thought of, is:
If your outlook is connecting to an Exchange server (this includes hotmail services, MSN services and Live services) did you set up the iPhone mail account as 'exchange too'?
If so, the iTunes won't need to sync mail data, calendars and tasks with your iPhone as all of this data is stores centrically on the server. Your iPhone only pulls the last 'x amount of days' OR the exchange server pushes the last 'x amount of days' worth of data.
Because of this, there is nothing to sync. When you add a contact to iCal on the iPhone, it should sync with the server. IF NOT, check yours ync settings on the iphone mail, calendars and contacts setting for that particular account.
OTHER SCENARIO: This applies to WebDAV calendars too.
OTHER SCENARIO No 2: Read my previous post. If that doesn't work, then I would suggest referring to Microsofts Outlook KB's about external programs being blocked access to Outlooks Calendars Stores.
