Iphone won't update to 6.1.3

My iphone 4s won't update to 6.1.3. When I try to update it, it takes a little while to verify it, and then a pop up comes up saying "Software update is not available at this time. Try again later." I have tried again later, and it is still not working. Is there any way I could maybe update to ios 7 if ios 6.1.3 will not work either?

I've rebooted the iPhone 4 several times (holding the home+power buttons down for several seconds. I've re-installed iTunes and finally got the IOS 6.1.3 update.
The whole process took over 5 hours.
Now, if only iTunes would not give me an error message trying to connect to my iPhone - i may be able to restore my apps...   :-(

  • My 3G iphone won't update from 3.1.3.

My 3G iphone won't update from 3.1.3. Was running iTunes 10.2.1 and had to turn off wireless for iTunes to recognize the phone. Have installed iTunes 10.4, but now it doesn't open right away. When it finally does, it recognizes the phone and reminds me it needs updating. I can back up/sync normally, but when I try to update the software, I get the back up status bar for 24+ hours. It never installs the software. As a result, I have not updated the phone's software.

  • My iPhone won't update to ios 5 :^(

I have an iPhone, i'm not sure what kind, but it won't update to ios 5 it has ios 4.2.1 on it and when i click "check for update" it says "this version of iPhone software (4.2.1) is the current version". I am using a mac with os x Snow Leopard iTunes 10.6

Then it's probably and iPhone 3G, which can't be updated beyond 4.2.1.  You can look here to identify it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939.

  • Iphone won't update to 3.1

My iPhone will not update to update 3.1. It says there is an internal error. Any easy fixes for this? iTunes is up to date and I have restarted the computer.

Consider yourselves lucky, OS 3.1 has to be the worst, buggiest OS Apple has ever released.I have a 32GB iPhone 3GS and, unfortunately, I successfully updated it to 3.1, I now spend my evenings looking for a way to get the stable OS 3.0 restored which seems impossible currently. My advice is to stick with 3.0 for as long as you can.

    Cindy,
Windows Address Book is what Outlook Express uses for contacts. If you put everything into Outlook 2003, then you will want to change the pull-down menu from Windows Address Book to Outlook.

    Hope this helps,

  • IPhone won't update to 6.1 and is stuck in recovery mode

I attempted to update my iPhone from 6.0.1 to 6.1 today; however, in doing so iTunes informed me that the update could not be verified. Upon receiving this message, I thought that my phone would just go back to how it was, but that wasn't the case. The iPhone 4s is now stuck in recovery mode. It just keeps shutting down and going back to the apple logo. In addition to this, I am unable to put the phone in DFU mode due to the fact that my power button randomly stopped working a few weeks ago. Any ideas on how to regain use of my iPhone? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem, I tried to update to whatever the last version was as I hadn't got that 33mb update yet, during the process my phone froze. I tried to unfreeze my phone by giving it a hard reboot (holding the home and power button) but now my phone is stuck in recovery mode.
I tried various programs that provide a "recovery mode fix" none worked.
Manually downloaded the latest ipsw as I failed five times from 5AM to try and get iTunes to download the latest version and restore my phone.
When I try to restore to iOS 8 I get "this iPhone could not be restored (error 2003)" and it has been like this for 12 hours. 12 hours I've been without a phone and all I wanted to do was update my software? What a joke. I have no idea how I'm going to fix this as literally everything I have tried has failed.

  • IPhone won't update to 3.1.2

I have tried to update my iPhone from software version 3.1 to 3.1.2 via iTunes, but it stops with 1 second to go. Gives an error message that the server timed out. Have tried many times to update, but always get the same message. Have tried going to the iTunes store or playing songs in playlist, but doesn't work. Any suggestions?

All I can think of is your ISP is blocking your access to iTunes .

  • Iphone won't update to 2.2.1

I just received a used iPhone 3g to replace one that I broke. iTunes 8.1.1.10 shows that the phone has Software Version 2.0. When I click Check for Update it says "This version of the iPhone software (2.0) is the current version.". My previous phone, and the GF's phone were both running 2.2.1, and had been installed from this same computer/itunes, so I know my computer has found 2.2.1. It just doesn't want to apply it to this phone. Any ideas?

Actually it made me set it up as a new phone. I originally wanted to restore my old phone onto this one, but when I tried to do that I got a dialog box explaining that this phone is currently running old firmware and I first needed to set it up as a new phone, then update, and then restore. So then I reselected the option to set it up as a new phone, that sync'd for a little bit, never popped up any error messages, now iTunes works with the phone like normal, except that it's a new phone stuck at 2.0.

  • IPhone won't update from 4.3.1 to 5.0.1

I have been trying to update my roommates iPhone 3GS software from 4.3.1 to 5.0.1 on iTunes.
When I try to click update, a message pops up saying "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. The netwoek connection could not be established"
I have tried looking for stuff online, but have not been successful in fixing it. I have backed it up and restored it; I have also reset it, but nothing is working.
She has a Mac OS X, Version 10.6.8.
    iTunes is updated to 10.5.3
Another issue is that her phone always says "Charging is not supported with this accessory" with the little yellow triangle when it is not plugged in at all!

    Two separate issues.
To solve the first one, make sure any firewall is off and log out, then back in to iTunes. I assume you're oing this on the computer that is normally used by the iPhone to sync to. Otherwise, everything on the phone will be wiped out.
To solve the second issue, try to Restet the phone, although you might need to move to a Restore.
    Try to Reset your device:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

  • My iPhone won't update apps or let me purchase apps

My iPhone 4 will not update apps or let me purchase apps. It is version 6.1.3

A number of people seem to be having this problem right now.  Try purchasing it using iTunes on your computer, accept the terms and conditions there, then either sync it to your phone or download it on your phone as a past purchase (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

  • IPhone won't update to 4.2

    Hi.
After reading on the Apple website about the iOS 4.2 update, I found my iPhone, plugged it in and tried to update it. However, after clicking "Check for Update" iTunes says "The installed version (4.1) is the newest version" and thus I can't update my iPhone to 4.2.
    My iTunes is version 10.1.
And I'm on a Macbook with Mac OS X version 10.6.5.
I have tried again and again and also tried to turn off my iPhone and turn it back on, all without any results. I was unable to find any support articles related to this issue, so any help is greatly appreciated.

If you look at this forum, you will see that this has been discussed several times this morning.
It is not available right now. It should be at some point today.

  • IPhone won't update to 4.0, sync/back-up

I have an iPhone 3G, version 3.1.3 (I connect to iTunes via an HP PC). I have tried several times to update to 4.0 but it doesn't work. It seems to get hung up on the back-up process. I click Update, it goes through the process showing the progress bar that shows the repeatedly moving little green boxes. It then has a box that says Backing up iPhone with an empty progress bar. After awhile the progress bar then shows one green box and this is where it seems to get stuck (I've also tried just syncing/backing up by right clicking on the device and selecting from the menu and it does the same thing). I've left it for more than an hour and it never moves any farther and it doesn't update to 4.0. Does anyone have any idea of what the problem/solution might be? I've never had any issues in previous updates/syncs.

Had the EXACT same problem and found a workaround.
It turns out that, while syncing doesn't work when updating to iOS4, it still works if you do it manually in iTunes. So sync your phone normally with iTunes in case something goes wrong.
Then download this little program: http://www.microseconds.com/backupswitch.html
It will allow you to chose whether you want iTunes to perform automatic syncs or not. Make sure you've quit iTunes, disable automatic updates through backupswitch and re-start iTunes. Now chose to update your iPhone to iOS4 and you will be told that there was an error and iTunes will ask you if you want to update without syncing. Click "accept" or "yes" or whatever it was and voilà - watch iTunes update your iPhone!
If you like, you can then re-enable automatic syncs through the backupswitch program.
Hope this is helpful and good luck!
