  • HELP my iPhone wont restore!!!!

I connected my iPhone to my MacBook and as usual he connects with iTunes.
My iTunes asked for an update on the software of the phone. I confirmed and the process started.
The update stopped but before finishing.
I can't start up my iPhone and when I connect it to my iTunes he asks to restore.
He starts restoring but then stops and gives an error 1611.
Can somebody help me??? I have no idea what happend and how to restore this.

READ ALL OF THESE NOTES THROUGH AND THROUGH TWICE before proceeding. You'll need to somewhat anticipate the next steps as you're doing this!
    1. Use a second computer and install iTunes... (DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT uninstall iTunes from computer #1 (AKA) the computer you are having the issues with. (You may lose ALL of your iPhone info which is saved on computer #1. The info is already gone from your iPhone, so you will have to restore it!)
    2. On computer number 2, once iTunes is installed, hook up your iPhone. iTunes should tell you that it has found an iPhone in restore mode and it must be restored. Go through all of the steps until your iPhone is successfully restored. It should be very easy and iTunes will walk you through it. This will delete ALL of your info on your iPhone (which is really already lost) and it will get the iPhone back to the factory settings (just like it was the day you bought it)...
    3. If you keep getting errors saying the iPhone can't be restored, re-install iTunes on computer #2 and try again. (I REPEAT, DO NOT UNINSTALL ITUNES FROM COMPUTER #1) or any computer you may have synced your phone to previously.
If reinstalling iTunes doesn't fix this and you still can not get the iPhone to restore, go to a 3rd computer and try until you get the iPhone restored to factory settings.
    4. DO NOT PLUG YOUR iPhone INTO COMPUTER #1 YET!
Once the iPhone is successfully restored to its factory settings, walk back to computer #1. AGAIN, DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR iPhone YET!!
    5. On computer #1 open iTunes. Go to Edit/Preferences/Devices and check the box that says "prevent iPhones/iPods from syncing automatically". If this is not checked your iPhone may sync to a corruped restore point and you'll have to start over and re-restore your iPhone.
*Note the device backup window on this screen. There should be at least one date and time from when you previously restored your iPhone. If not, you are probably screwed. Click OK and close that window.
    6. Plug in your iPhone and let it do whatever it does. Now, on the left hand side of iTunes RIGHT mouse click on your iPhone icon. Click "restore from backup"
There will be a drop down menu that lets you select from your previous sync dates. AGAIN, if you haven't synced you could be screwed.
Select a date from you which you think the iPhone will work, and click RESTORE.
This should restore your iPhone back to that sync date.
    This worked for me!!

  • HT1414 my iphone wont restore itself how to i resolve this

its an old iphone 3G it was passed down to me by my dad i think its a pretty old one and hasnt been updated for a long time... o wanted to remove eveything off the phone so i restored it but ever since it wont restore it tells me there is a problem it says there error code is 1015... how do i resolve this

Error 1015 occurs on a phone that's been jailbroken.
Jailbreaking not only voids any remaining warranty with Apple, but forfeits your right to any Assistance from Apple, including from this forum.
In addition, discussion of jailbroken phones is strictly prohibited by the Terms of Use of this forum.
You'll have to search elsewhere on the internet for assistance.  It's very likely your phone is permanently hosed.

  • IPhone 4 keeps rebooting during final steps of restore...

I had an iPhone 4... never updated to ios 5.... When I first got the phone Nov 5th the following day I had problems with the screen not turning off (sensor not working) and 2 times the sound cut out on my phone.  I noticed if I turned my phone on and off sometimes it fixed the problem with the sensor. I took it to apple... they looked at it... turned it off and on... took my otter box off and tried telling me the problem was from the screen protector on my otterbox.  I've used the otterbox on every iphone I had and never had an issue.  I left the case on and just ignored the problem.  Earlier in the week the sound went out on my phone as it does every so often and this time it never came back on.  I made an appointment with genius bar... went in the following day. They said they needed to take my phone into the back to look at it. They came back and told me they opened it up and upon opening it they discovered it had water damage.  My phone has NEVER touched water.  I am very careful with everything I own and have never so much as dropped a phone.  They insisted upon the water damage and said I would have to pay 149 for a new phone.  I told them I needed to think about it.  I put the phone in my pocketbook and went home.  When I got there, the phone was off.  I plugged it into my charger assuming it died and went in the shower.  When I came out, my phone was still off!!  I went back to apple the following day.  I was told there was nothing they could do and that my only option was to buy a new phone.  I paid the 160 or whatever it came out to and went home to restore my phone.  Now, since it was a new phone, it automatically had ios 5 on it (which I do not want)... I restored my phone from the backup I did 2 days prior and I had NO TEXTS or APPS!!  This is a huge problem because I need to have my texts for work.  I have since tried to restore my phone 4 times from backups and the same problem.  Just as it's about to finish restoring and it gets to "Synching Apps to Mels iPhone (5 of 5)" the phone turns off and reboots... and continues to do so every minute or so.  I'm leaving the phone connected because it seems to still be putting my apps on the phone and I will see what happens when it completes but I'm certain it will be the same thing... no texts and no apps!! What is going on?  Is this a glitch between the old os and the new regarding the backups not restoring correctly??  helpppp!!!

Most apps are showing up but the install is incomplete on all of them.  And still no texts!

  • I am having problems restoring an iPod Touch 5G because of lost passcode.  The iPod reboots during the process each time so the software cannot be restored.

    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks,

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I upgraded 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 and iphone wont restore from back up says corrupted

I just upgraded my iPhone to 6.1.1 after it finished it told me to restore phone from the back up I made right before I upgraded. Well it errors out everytime saying the back up is corrupted. So I've lost most of my pics of my new born son taken since my last cloud back up. And all my music and texts are gone. How do I get it to accept the old backed up file. I've read this happening a lot, but can't find a solution.

Update on the issue at hand.
I tried restoring my iPhone using an older backup that came from my old phone which was an iPhone 3G.. like 3 months back and it worked.. i still havent figured out on why would the phone not accept my recent phone backup. Its possible that the backup was corrupted or something OR due to the size of the backup and firmware compatibility it caused the phone to crash and restart while syncing. I even tried waiting for the phone to finish syncing eventhough the screen of my phone only shows a white circle loading. But due to the size of the app, it never finished syncing coz the phone eventually restarts itself making the whole syncing process start from scratch. I would really hope apple would come up with a solution or at least a statement concerning about this kind of problem.
    Notes:
iPhone 4S backup size reached around 22GB while the backup file that worked only has 380mb. (Dont know if this info matters or not but i think its better for me to add the details.)
