Iphone wont stop resetting itself

for some reason my iphone 4 wont stop trying to reset itself..tried turning off, nothing. tried pressing both buttons for 10 seconds, nothing. plugged into mains, after a while tells you to connect to itunes, so I connect then it just tries to reset itself again...help.

Are you able to restore from backup?
If you are and the problem continue, restore as new.
If neither of those work, you have a hardware issue and will need to either visit a Genius bar or send it in for service.

  • Ipod Wont stop Resetting

I think I wrongly disconnected my new 60Gb Gen 5. It wont stop resetting itself every 5 seconds, I tried many times resetting it by pressing Menu, center button for a few secs. Please help! I did try reinstalling Itunes as well, it wont recognize the never-stop resetting Ipod.

Sounds like the ipods software got corrupt. Reset it and TRY to set it into "Disk Mode" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Since its reseting itself over and over it might be alittle hard, but just wait til you see the unlighted apple logo and QUICKLY hit and hold Center and play/pause like the link I've posted says.
If you get it in disk mode, you need to restore it with ipod updater 06-28-2006. If you do not have this ipod updater it can be downloaded here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
Restore will wipe the ipod clean, and they suggest anything thats not on the PC you try to get off the ipod and onto the PC before restoring. Being the ipod is resetting over and over I doubt you can get anything off it, Put if you want to try post back BEFORE restoring the ipod

  • I have a iPhone 4 that will not stop resetting itself on its own this is my fourth phone and the second to have this problem

I have a iPhone 4 that will not stop resetting itself on its own this is my fourth phone and the second to have this problem. I have AT&T so I need to post here instead of actually being held to get help on a Sunday night. this is a extremely frustrating situation as I count on this phone for business.

Are you restoring your phone from a previous back up? If so there could be a problem within the back up. Try restoring your phone as a new device and then manualy reinstall all apps.

  • My Iphone 4 recently reset itself to factory mode and I lost everything. I managed to get most of my music back but I was wondering if there was a way to credit money that I spent on itunes cards for things in the games I purchased?

My iphone 4 recently reset itself to factory settings and I lost everything...contacts, pictures, itunes, apps. I managed ON MY OWN thanks to NO HELP from apple to figure out how to restore most of my apps and some of my ITUNES music. However I lost all of my games standings and that was a lot of money that I spent on upgrading games and such and quite a few of my songs. Is there away to research what i purchased and maybe get credited or something?

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. • HELP!!!! iPod wont stop resetting!!!

So today I went somewhere with my family and my iPod died out on me. When I resetted it while in the car, it showed a picture of a little sad iPod with "x's" for the eyes and an exclamation mark next to it. I thought by simply recharging it, the problem would be solved. When I got home and I recharged it for a bout twenty minutes on an iHome dock, I pulled it off the charger. Then it just started resetting itself over and over and over again until the battery died. I plugged it in my computer and a screen showed up on the iPod that said, "Please wait. Very low battery." It has a little wheel type thing that is moving which means it's not frozen. But it's been on 'low battery' for the past 7 hours when it only takes an iPod to be fully charged in 4 hours. When I unplugged it from the USB, it started to continuously reset again without me holding down the required buttons. HELP ANYONE?!?

I was reading that article earlier in the evening. However, it didn't really help much. I think I probably just need to take it in to the Apples store or something to get it checked out.

  • TS3276 I have a recovering email, that wont stop sending itself back to me, i cannot recive any new emails????

I have a recovering email that will not stop sending itself back to me, and i cannot receive any emails

    hi guys,
I had already deleted all reference to the hotmail account in question from the keychain access app, I have also tried to delete and re-instal the account details from within mail. The icon in the side bar dissapears but when I go to Add Account, the old account details are in the new account box. I then input my new password but am told that the server does not recognise it. If I access hotmail via google on the iMac I can get into my account with no problems. I am thinking there must be some other form of security system within the mac software that is blocking the new password. This is driving me nuts. I have been trying to resolve this for the last two days. Thank you for your advise anyway.

  • IPod Touch used until battery went flat, starts charging and now it won't stop resetting itself (Apple screen). :(

I have an iPod Touch, fairly old (think it's 3rd gen, has no camera). I used it today until the battery went flat, tried charging it as I normally do and now it's stuck as if it's having the home and off buttons pressed all the time... It keeps rebooting and always just stays to the Apple screen basically.
Tried connecting to iTunes, shows up like it's syncing but, I can't select it to do anything.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

    - Try restoring the iPOd.
    To allow the restore try:
    - a reset.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Place the iPod in Recovery Mode
    - Placing in DFU mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - Let the batter fully drain. After charging fro at least an hour try again.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Woke up this morning and iPhone 3GS had reset itself and powered off!!

So I got up this morning and picked up my iPhone 3GS and discovered that it had powered off. Strange.
I turned it on and it asked me to plug it into iTunes to reset and restore it!!! What in the &#$#!??!
The real ****** is that I lost some very important notes that did not get synced before the phone died. Thanks a lot Apple. You have made me look like an _ss.
There is nothing to indicate why this happened. I did nothing different and had not installed anything.
I am on iPhone OS 3.1 running Snow Leopard 10.6.1 and iTunes 9.0.1
    Argh!!

I seem to have somehow solved this
So this is what I did
    turn off / re-power up
    Reset all settings
    check emails - no change
went to one of my email accounts (as I have multiple emails) and turned off the main one of the SMTP server
    it then worked
No doubt I will be back here again when it fails again
(as obviously there is something in IOS5 triggering this)

  • IPhone Mail Port resets itself

To connect to my mailbox I had to change the port number on my iPhone. Now, for no reason that I can tell, iPhone keeps resetting the port to the original factory number. I do I lock the revised port number?

Try plugging it into your computer, back everything up in iTunes. Then try restoring it to factory settings, set it up as if it were a new device, try testing the issues, if it works after that restore it from the back up your created earlier. If you are still having problems with it, call into AppleCare they will be able to help you out.

  • Please Help! Iphone wont stop vibrating!

My iphone started vibrating over 40 min ago, and will not stop. It is unresponsive, i have tried restarting it. The home and lock button are both unresponsive. I pluged it into iTunes, but it doesn't even connect. I only had 18% battery, i thought i could just wait for it to die and restart it, but it still hasn't died. Any advice?

If you have an iPhone 4 with iOS 5, you're probably already syncing to iCloud. You can check by going to settings in your phone. If you don't have that, or don't want to turn on iCloud, below is what I did:
    To back up your contacts:
Connect your phone to the computer you usually sync with
Go to the info tab and choose Sync Contacts with... (I'd suggest Google)
Make sure to copy any pictures and apps.
Once you get a new phone, the apple techs will give you directions, but basically, it's the same thing. Connect your phone, go to info, and then scroll down to advanced and choose replace.
From my experience and the techs I spoke with, the vibrating thing is usually a symptom of a bigger problem. Apple will probably want to wait to replace until you have a second problem (another vibrating issue, turning off, whatever), but if you go to them now, even if they don't replace immediately they'll have a record of it when you show up with a second problem. It's probably not a bad idea to have a backup of your data just in case though, because these phones seem to have a knack for not working when you most need it.
    Good luck!

  • HT3529 iphone wont stop sending repeating text messages

My phone is sending out the same text message to the same person every hour for 2 days now, and I need help stopping this?

If the text message bubble is green then this SMS text messaging would be a carrier issue, call your carrier and let them know duplicate text  are firing off.
If the message bubble is blue on your text messages, you are having a problem with imessage which would involve Apple if that is true.
    Trouble shooting imessage ---->.  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755
If you believe its the iphone sending messages on its own, you may want to backup your information and restore your iphone as new.
