Iphone wont turn on and my sleep button doesnt work

Question

when i put my phone on the charger it says its charging but apparently doesnt. ive had it on the charger for hours and i cant reset it because my sleep button doesnt work

Not Charge
- See:

- Try another cable.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Also try:                                               
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on           
Whenit says place the iPOd in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode

If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
and

For MAC or PC

Installs blootware on PC too
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable       
- Try on another computer                                                       
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
