IPhone4 ~30 second lockup after taking picture.

I have an odd problem with my iPhone4. I'm running iOS 5.0.1. Whenever I am in the MMS app, and click on the Camera icon from within the app. the camera launches. I take the photo. However once I click "use" the phone locks up for a good anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds. Then the App will then unlock and the picture will be added to the current MMS typing field as it should. Funny enough the issue also happens if I launch the camera app seperately, then go to the MMS app, the MMS app will be frozen for a few seconds, even if I don't tell it to select any photo or anything.
I have tried the usual. I have copied my Camera Roll over to my computer and deleted it from the phone. I have also went through and deleted all MMS convorsations so the MMS is blank, not to mention I have already restarted my phone a bunch of times. I have yet to try restoring and setting up my iPhone as new, but I only want to try that as a last resort.

Basic troubleshooting steps as well-outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset and restore. If you're reluictant or not willing to restore, then there's nothing else to suggest to you.

E72 camera lagging after taking picture

I've had my E72 for a little over a month now, and I'm pretty satisfied with. I have recently come across an annoying problem though: When the phone has been turned on for some time (30-60 minutes) the camera starts to lag after taking a picture. The duration of this lag can be up to 40 seconds, and it is pretty annoying that I have to wait for that long between shots. If I turn the phone off and then on again the problem goes away for a short period and then returns. Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone know what I can do about it?

I've had my phone for a while now, and just recently discovered that I have this issue too. After I take a photo it takes 20-40 seconds of processing before I can take another, or before I can close the application.
I updated to the v22 firmware, but I didn't take photos before that so I'm not sure if it was like this from the start.

10 Second LAG after taking phone off LOCK.

Does this happen to anyone else? If my phone has been locked for more than 20 minutes, when I go to unlock it.... it seriously take about 10 -15 seconds for the phone to do ANYTHING!! What the hell is this issue?
I had this issue even when the phone was BRAND NEW, no software, pictures, videos, contact, nothing. WTF.. should
i return this and get another one?
I also get random LAG other times as well.. (not normal 1 - 3 second lag... im talking 10 - 15 seconds here at least)

Memory cleaner is Disabled. As I said before, the phone is STOCK, out of the box.
I just remved the battery for the first time since i got it, and it hasnt done it since...

BBM - Picture won't send after taking picture through Gallery shortcut

When sending a picture through BBM it doesn't seem to send when I chose Attatchment > Picture > Camera and then take a picture and then send it. It hangs on having the the picture send progress completed but it never reaches the recipient.

Does this happen with all BBM contacts or specific ones?
If you were to send a photo from your saved pictures, does it send? Or does it fail to send?

HDR camera mode shows "Saving" for a long time after taking a picture

I noticed that after taking a photo in the HDR mode with the camera on 4.1 (4th Gen phone), the "Saving Photo" and spinning icon persist on the screen. The only way to stop it is to tape the top button on the phone, which shuts off the screen. When I go back the photo appears to be saved with no harm. Anyone else have this lag?
It makes taking another photo very slow.

You must have an older iPhone. My iPhone 4 takes about several seconds to save them, which was kinda annoying first. I'm not taking pictures in a rapid succession so I guess it is not that bad, taking into account a better quality of the HDR pics. I hope Apple fixes this delay in the future update of the iOS.
I was wondering though if we disable keeping of a non-HDR picture, would that speed it up? (Settings -> Photos -> Keep Normal Photo -> Off)
In your case, Fred, it would probably be better to shoot in a normal (non-HDR) format due to older hardware.

N8 Dead After taking a picture and Camera Flash!!

yesterday i took a picture from my n8...everything was working fine upto then
suddenly after this....there was a sound like chick....and thts it the n8 went dead...the screen went black n never turned on again....the lens shutter remained open...

Yes I'm having the same problems. Taking pictures, then only seeing faint squares on the camera roll, with not pictures. When trying to raise photo, camera goes back to setting. This is my 4th Iphone, first one I purchased, took 100 pictures and downloaded them on a Dell Laptop, then faint squares on Camera roll showed up, taking it back to an Apple store in Louisville, Ky, getting a new phone, doing the same thing to a second party, another 100 photos, downloaded them, and again no pics, just empty squares, then I sent it to Apple, got a loaner service phone, and loaner phone wouldn't take pictures either, got a brand new phone from Apple service, invoice saying "replaced with new unit", and it again would not take pictures. 4 phones, and two service phones, and the last one a brand new phone from Apple service direct to my ole Indiana home, and still it doens't take and then store pictures, does just what the other phones have done, nothing different, still doesn't work, still doesn't take pictures, still not I wanted, and I'm going to keep trying. How can I stop my camera from taking pictures every 15 seconds?

I am so frustrated! I have a Droid X which has worked well for about a year. Just today It has just gone crazy taking pictures. One picture after another. Every fifteen seconds or so, regardless of what I am trying to do---work on the internet, dial my phone, etc. I can barely shut down. I've taken out the card and the battery and have tried to change any camera and general settings that I can find. Do you have any idea how I can get my Droid to stop? If you're running iOS 5.1 or later you could use Photo Stream. See http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/photo-stream.html and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486. It will upload up to 1000 photos to iCloud.com for 30 days.

Camera closes after taking a picture & pic not saved

Hi there,
My iPhone has worked fine but now when taking a picture the camera closes and the phone doesn't appeared to have saved the photo at all. Nothing in the Camera Roll album!
I have tried shutting the phone off and powering up again but still experiencing the same issue.
Phone has the latest 1.1.4 firmware

Use the photo management software on the computer to rotate them.

Unable to message, email, or tweet a picture immediately after taking it.

Most of the time I am unable to message, email, or tweet a picture immediately after taking it in ios5. I usually have to exit out of camera and go into my photos before I can send it. I appreciate any help given.

For anyone who's curious, I was able to fix the problem by converting my old folder structure into single-layer labels. I guess Google still chokes on mail that is stored in multiple nested/hierarchical labels because it works fine now.
So NOT a good "solution", but at least it works in all email clients now.

Bad image after taking a picture

Occasionaly when taking pictures, the result is like a psychadelic image or similar to a negative. How do I fix this or should I return my camera for another one?

I think what Bob said is probably right in this case. When an image is taken and the camera detects areas where the highlights are overexposed and blown-out, those areas will flash between normal and what looks like a negative of that. This feature is called Highlight alert. It is to let you know those areas are too bright so you can try shooting again or apply negative exposure compensation if you want to. I still want to verify this is indeed the case though.
When you take an image that is darker or in a darker location, do you no longer see the "negative effect" when reviewing the image?
If you download and image with this effect to your computer and view it, does it show on your computer just as it does on the camera's LCD?
