Iphone4 accessory jack not working

Ok here is my problem, awhile ago my phone started acting strange, it would stick in headphone mode or accessory mode, the past week it's randomly switch between modes. I was unable to turn the phone off. I've cleaned the connectors, restored etc, etc with no help. Yesterday I did a restore and plugged it in to charge, after a few minutes it switched from accessory mode and the charge stopped. Now the phone switches perfectly between headphone and internal mode but the accessory button will not work, I'm at 5% battery and I can shut it down, I've tried every trick that I've found here and other places but the accessory jack is non existent.
So I know it's not the battery, cable, usb, software, user...it is definitely hardware, the switch that enables the phone to change modes is kaput. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this bad boy????

Mic Jack not working after Driver Update, Console unavailable, can't install

LMic Jack not working after Driver Update, Console unavailable, can't install? I've had nothing but problems after downloading the latest updates via the auto-updater.
I'm currently using the Creative SB X-Fi Pro Series card. I've had it for close to 6 months and have not had any issues until I ran the auto-updater last night, and while it downloaded over 250Mb of updates, all of them failed to install as described below.
I'm running on Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit
My main issue is the fact that my microphone is no longer working. I've done a lot of searching and I think the problem has to do with flexijack not being a microphone jack, but instead is an 'in-line' jack. I can no longer find my audio control console, which allows me to switch between gaming and entertainment modes, ect. The solution I found on the KB says that you can switch the blue jack on the back of the card from an in-line jack to a mic jack within the Audio console. I tried downloading it, but while going through the install, I get an error saying the files could not be found and a prompt which asks for a disk or file location. The same thing pretty much happens with all of the items I attempted to download and install.
I was able to run console fine, as well as use my mic yesterday before I attempted any updates. I attempted the updates because since I've had the card, I've had issues where after I exit a game, all my sound will become crackly and static. Before, I would simply open up the console and switch back-and-forth from gaming to entertainment, which would fix the problem most of the time. If that didn't work, a restart would fix it, but now I've opened up a whole new set of issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I also want to say that the support tickets should not require a serial number to submit a new ticket. My product is registered, so I got rid of the box which contains all that information, leaving me at the mercy of these boards...

Hello all. Fisrt of all, this are my specs: Yoga 2 pro 13". WiFi card: Intel(R)Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I bought it from Best Buy on November 27, 2014. If you aquired your Yoga before this date, you may have the single band WiFi card. As many of you have experienced, I also had a bunch of issues with my WiFi connectivity and this is how I was able to solve it. At least it has been a couple of days that I haven't had any issues. The first symptom was the usual connection drops every X amount of time. For me it was about every 2 hours. I first unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in the Power Management tab of device manager and disabled U-APSD support in the Advanced tab of device manager. This action did not solve the problem. I then downloaded and updated the driver from the Intel web site (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect) and this seemed to solve the drops; however, a new problem arised: Everytime my Yoga would wake up from sleeping mode, all my wifi networks were gone and the adapter showed as disabled in Device Manager. I would have to anable it to have my networks back. It was a solution but a pain the butt to have to do this everytime. After hours of reading post after post in several forums, I read a repy from Lenovo asking to try leaving the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" CHECKED if you were using the latest version of the driver. I went back to device manager and checked it back and that seems to have solved the problem. So far I haven't had any drops and everytime my laptop comes back from sleeping mode the WFi connection is still there! Here is a recap of how everything ended up: -The driver version I installed is 17.1.0.19-The driver date is 7/21/2014-In device manager|Advanced, U-APSD support is Disbled.-In device manager|Power Management, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is checked. Headphone Jack Not Working Macbook Pro Mid 2012 Running Yosemite

Hey everyone,
I have a Mid 2012 MBP. Just updated to OS X 10.10 and used the headphone jack to connect my external speakers for the first time today. Had no problems t first, but after about 2 hours of using the headphone jack the sound started cutting in and out then about 10 minutes later, they just stopped working all together. Audio works just fine with out them plugged in. Also the sound is cutting in and out using the built in speakers also.
I have Bootcamp(windows 8.1) and I have the same problem when using Windows also. Sounds like a hardware problem but im hopping its not cuz I dont have the warranty anymore(obviously).
Anyone have any ideas?

When it is not working, look inside the audio output port. See if there is a red light. If so, the internal switch is stuck and the jack may free it if inserted a few times.
If none of the above solves the problem, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar. The evaluation will be FREE.

Headphone jack not working on new Macbook Pro what is causing this?

My 17 inch Macbook Pro is less than two weeks old. The headphone jack does not recognize the headphones about half the time. This occurs with several pairs of headphones and yes, they are ther right size. This is really frustrating on a brand new 3500 dollar machine. What is causing this? It almost seems as if the headphones cannot make contact due to the fact that the connection is too far recessed. I don't live near an Apple store so dealing with this is going to be a P.I.T.A. Anyone have any ideas on how I might fix this issue? Thanks!

Hi, and thanks for your reply. I didn't have a red light emitting from the jack. I had already checked in the sound preferences to make sure the settings were correct. The headphones were not being recognized. This was not working with several differing sets of headphones. I made a phone appt. with Applecare. The laptop PRAM was reset and it works. There is still a bit of a delay when I plug in the headphones before they are recognized and I do feel the port is just a bit "off" as the no headphones plug all the way in. They seem to just sit almost flush but, not quite. However, resetting it resolved the issue to a satifactory level. Applecare said the issue was that not enough power was getting to that function on my laptop. They gave me the case number and I can use it if I have any further problem when I take the laptop in with me to any Apple service center. I was quite satisfied with how this was handled by Apple and if I have anymore issues will follow up.
I love this laptop but, even though this is working now I do feel that port is somewhat recessed a bit much.
I also want to add that this is my first Mac and despite having had this issue I was extremely impressed with the Applecare call that I got to help resolve this. One of the reasons I went with a Mac was the reputation for service Apple has. I was fed up with Sony to the hilt. I was glad I went with this Mac despite the headphone issue because had I still been with Sony, I'd have been give a major run around to deal with this issue. So far, Apple has tried everything possible to help me with this and assured me should I have any further issue they will immediately resolve it or give me a new machine. WAY better than dealing with Sony! I do not regret going with this MAC headphone issue or not!

I recently updated my iphone4's firmware to iOS 5. I just found out that my ringer is not working anymore. It seems like it's always in silent mode. I tested music and it worked fine. Please help...thanks in advance

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Microphone jack not working with IOS 7

Hi, I don't know where to report to, I've been using IOS on my iPhone 4 and iPad 3 since yesterday and looks pretty great but I noticed that the microphone jack is not working to speak with siri or even answering to a call, please let me know if you find any solution.

I tried this and it worked. I thought it was ios7 but I may have dropped the phone around the same time....

Headphone jack not working

Have had external speakers connected to headphone jack for over a year now, worked flawlessly.
Upgraded to Lion one month ago.
Unplugged cord going to external speakers to plug in some headphones. Headphones worked fine. Unplugged headphones, plugged in external speakers (back to orignal setup.)
There is no signal to external speakers now. I've tested them with an iPod, the cord and speakers work fine when connected to any other device. The speakers will not work when connected to my iMac.
I've checked the Audio Out in Settings. When I connect the speakers, it switches from internal speakers to digital out.
Any ideas or does anyone know about how much will this cost me to fix? My warranty expired in Sept.

Try doing a SMC reset and PRAM reset, it's possible you may need to do each reset 2x.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Headphone jack not working iMac 10.5.8

While playing to the headphones the plug was pulled out of the headphone jack.
Sound plays through the external speakers but when the headphones are plugged in they are not recognized.
Tried a different pair of headphones and they did not work.
Both sets of headphones do work on another computer.
Reset the PRAM but still no recognition of headphones.
Plugged headphones in and opened the sound preferences.
The only choice is internal speakers and there is not a place to change the setting to audio output.
Restarted the machine with the headphones plugged in but still no recognition.
Any other ideas before I decide it's just a bad jack?

Sounds like the headphone port is damaged. Some USB audio solutions exist for the Mac. You may want to research those over trying to fix the soundboard.

A few days ago I tried to help a guy with Bose External Speakers and we found the male jack isn't quite long enough to make the connection:

Just to share information for others who might come across this problem with Bose or any other external speakers, where the male jack doesn't quite go in far enough for the MacBook to recognize it, here is the solution that worked for me:

has anyone have problems with the iphone audio jack?
I had actually changed last week my Iphone 4S becuase I had a bluetooth conections problems and the phone jack was not working ( only one side worked when I plugged my ears phones). With the new iphone changed I was abel to lisen music for couple of days without any issues. Now that changed and I have the same problem with iphone jack; I can only lisen music on the left side when head set is plugged.
Has anyone have the same problem? any advice before turning my iphone 4S to the apple store?

I have owned an iPhone4 for about 3 weeks and the external speaker no longer seems to work. I am unable to play music out loud, my ringtone doesn't ring, my message alert doesn't sound, and all other functions associated with the speakers do not work. And no, my phone is NOT on silent, that was the first thing I checked. I have also reset factory settings, and still nothing. And my phone has never been dropped, kept in extreme temperature conditions etc.

Try plugging the headphones in and gently wiggling them around for a few seconds. It may be that the sensor that tells the iPhone that headphones are plugged in has gotten stuck. If this doesn't work, they try a reset (hold down Sleep/Wake and Home all the way until the Apple logo appears on the screen).

P965 Neo-F audio jacks not working.

I've been having serious issues with the audio jacks on the P965 Neo-F board. I have actually tried two boards, convinced the first board was defective since my speakers worked fine on other computers. On both the current board and the last board, I did a complete clean XP install, formatting my hard drives and installing the latest RealTek HD drivers (5.10.0.5404 dated 4/23/2007, from MSI). The first board never so much as peeped, while the board I have now has made some sounds, although I honestly don't know why. On this board, I had a set of Altic Lansing 2.1 speakers, but because the speakers would pop and make static noises every now and again, generally only if I bumped one of the small stereo speakers or wiggled the cords on the back of it, I thought perhaps the problem was the speakers being old.
On the current board, I tested a monitor that has speakers in it, and there was no sound. RealTek's sound manager, which I have installed, did not recognize that there was anything plugged into the jacks even though I had a line in, microphone, and line out plugged in. When it did recognize the lino out, it also recognized the microphone. However, it only recognized them for no more than a minute. The new speakers (also Altec Lansing 2.1) made one squeak for less than a second; other than that, there has been no sound at all.
I've tried several different RealTek HD drivers from MSI, Microsoft, and RealTek, but none have made any difference. I've enabled and disabled only to re-enable the audio device through BIOS with no success. I've checked the volume, DxDiag, and played music--Winamp and iTunes are both making sound, but no sound is coming out.
I'm pretty much out of ideas here. The only thing I can think to do is get a sound card, but I don't see why I should have to do that when I'm not an audiophile and the board jacks should suit me fine. I am quite at my wit's end with this, and would appreciate any help I can get.

That is totally normal and not a problem. It is basically a limitation of the Realtek HD Audio Driver in combination with Windows XP. It has nothing to do with the board. Here is an Asus-example:
There is nothing wrong here. If you scroll through that output devices/jacks in the Mixer tab of the Realtek HD Audio Manager, you will find that you can adjust the input/output volume for each audio jack individually. Doesn't make sense to adjust input volume in the output section? Well, ask Realtek which genius designed the interface and ask him personally.
