Iphone4 cuts off on its own

I am having problems with my iphone 4. I Have had it less than a year & it hasn't had any major drops/damages. It doesn't even have a scratch. It's always been inside of case (otterbox).  It keeps cutting off & cutting back on- on its own even if I am in middle of a call. I have tried restoring it & when I finally got it to stay on long enough to restore it I finally got the phone down to the factory settings but in the process I have lost everything on my phone & can't seem to get them back. But its STILL cutting off & on. The restore setting didn't not work. Is there anything else I can try before taking it to Apple store which is over hour drive? And my luck they will find some way to tell me they can't help me without paying them some kind of way.

try calling tech support first, depending on how long you have had it, will depend on the help that you get. inside of 90 days, you'll get ll the help they can. Outside of that.. useless. better to go to the store. The cutting off and on, I had last year when i bought my first iPhone 4. I let it drain to the point that it wouldn't even cut on to the power red battery screen and recharged it. After a full charge, I was able to restore it. Give it a shot.. if that doesn't work, take it to the store. Do you not have a Mac Authority or other Apple Certified retailer close by?

  • Why can't I turn Airport on in my iMac? It turns off on its own.

I have an iMac with leopard and an intel processor. Airport (the hardware/software responsible for my Wi-Fi) seems to turn on and off on its own.
Sometimes when I log on, Airport is on. Sometimes after it goes to sleep, Airport is on. But sometimes, Airport isn't on, and there's nothing I can do to turn it on. It appears that this is an issue other users are having, but I can't find the resolution. I am looking for easy steps!
I have gone to network preferences, and tried pushing that cute little "Turn Airport On" button. Nothing. I've tried deleting the locations and adding a new one. Nope. I've changed the order of the network devices. I've tried to turn airport on through that little icon in the upper right. It's hollow, and tells me "No Airport Card Installed". It's lying. It was there two days ago. System profiler tells me that there's no Aiport card installed, but it did *two days ago*.
I admit my ignorance of Macs whole-heartedly. I bought my first a month ago - I only spent 3 hours that first day getting it on my network. The next day I spent another 3 hours getting it BACK on the network. Now I have spent 2 days trying to get it to believe it CAN get on a network.
An Apple salesman convinced me how terrific Macs were, and impressed me with how easy they are to use. He made a crack about how inferior Dell was and how sorry he felt for me. I am writing this message on a Dell laptop. It is connected to my wireless network. It took me 3 minutes to connect it, and it never once has told me that it no longer has a network card. Neither have the other 3 PCs in my house.
Can someone PLEASE save a poor, helpless PC user. I clearly need assistance -I read somewhere that I can run a 'script' to turn it on - but I don't know this OS so I don't understand what that entails
If any answer involves taking my Mac into a "Genius Bar", then the "Genius" can keep it. I've never had to take an out-of-box PC to a "Genius" - because it doesn't take one to fix a PC. Please guys, save a PC user. This Mac cost more than the PC I wanted and it's worth a lot less to me right now.

Hi, sorry to hear that you are experiencing these problems, but sometimes a new machine (be it Apple, Dell, whatever) can be defective right out the box - its not unheard of.
If your machine came with defective hardware and is still under warranty (seems to be the case here) then you have nothing to lose taking it back to where you bought it and, if there really is defective hardware present I am sure they'll rectify the problem.
A small note: these problems are not manufacturer-specific - its pointless blaming the manufacturer as I can assure you this happens with ALL brands. Apple supplies quality hardware and software - I know of a user who has had a machine switched on since 1987 without problems

  • Mac Book Pro i7 - Logging off on its own, night time, power down sleep

    Hi Everyone,
I have had my Macbook pro for around 4 months now.
And I have had this problem from the beginning.
At night, often when I leave my machine, with software open and things active.
I come back in the morning to find my mac logged off and at the login screen.
Can anyone suggest what would be causing this?
    I have  MAC OSX 10.6.7
    8GB of DDR3 RAM
    2.8 GHZ Core i7 Processor
I have tried SMC resets and it doesnt seem to work.
Any ideas of why my mac book pro might be logging off on its own would be great!
    Thank you.

  • Mac Mini keeps shutting off on its own!

Okay Apple Discussion Users, Here is my problem. I have a Mac Mini from early 2008. As of May 23, 2009 the mini started to RANDOMLY turn off on its own. For what reason, I Don't know! I will be using it maybe searching the web, and BAM, OUT COLD. And I have no reason why it's doing this. Its not a heat issue because i just had my mini cleaned up(dusted out) and i use SMC fan control keeping my mini at about 98ºF to 120ºF most of the time. I have opened my mini and re-seated my ram sticks and it seems to STILL be doing the same thing. Sometimes the mini will even blank out. I will be searching the web listening to music or something and the screen will black out. but the mac will still be on. I just cant use it. I have even reset my PMU/SMC on the mini, that seemed to make the mini act really weird, right after doing that the mini turned on with a fan running FULL speed and the hard drive running FULL speed, WHY IS IT DOING THIS ?!?!?!?!
    Help!

Proper steps to reset the mini:
    # Force Quit (Option-Command-Escape).
    # Restart (Control-Command-Power).
    # Force Shut Down (press the power button for 10 seconds)
    to reset the SMC:
    1. From the Apple menu, choose Shut Down (or if the computer is not responding, hold the power button until it turns off).
    2. Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord and any display cables.
    3. Wait at least 15 seconds.
    4. Plug the power cord back in, making sure the power button is not being pressed at the time. Then reconnect your keyboard and mouse to the computer.
    5. Press the power button on the back to start up your computer.
Now if these to not work, the next thing i would try is uninstalling the fan management software and unplugging everything except the K/V/and mouse/

  • Is it normal for your iPod touch 4th gen screen to come off on its own?

So I have had my iPod touch for a while now. I understand that things get old and fall apart eventually, but what confuses me is how does the screen come off on its own? I noticed it a few weeks ago when I was reading a book that some light was able to come out from the top area of the screen where the camera is located. I started to investigate about it and turns out the the top area of the iPod had came loose. A few days later I noticed that it started to get worse. It started to allow me to see the components on the inside. Then my screen turned off not allowing my to turn it back on when I later found out that one of the cables that connect the screen had came lose and popped off the connection for it. What should I do? Please help me and tell me what I should do to fix it.

"Do you have any duct tape?" Seriously, no it shouldn't come off, contact your Apple genius bar and get it fixed. Good luck.

    Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up

  • N9 keep switching off on its own

my N9 does not power on it keeps switching off on its own....can anyone assist?

So it isn't the sim and not the boot loop.  Have you tried charging using any source just to make sure that isn't the charger? Failing that you might have to consider a hard reset.

  • IPhone4 cut off

My iPhone4 cut off and wont turn back on, it has been off for about a hour. YES it has been on the charger this whole time, my charger is NOT broke nor does it have a shortage, YES i have tried to hold both buttons down at once, YES i tried to hold each button down separate. Can anyone help me?

Did you try a different cable to attach to the charger? How long have you left it attached to the Mophie case and it not show a change in the charge status? I would say there is a problem with the battery, but you state this is a replacement device? I would bring it back to be checked.

Try a restore. If that does not work, you probably have a hardware issue.

  • MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on.

MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on.  Battery had 41% just before this happened and green indicator on power cord is showing, so it seems like it's charging.  What should I do?

The led on the power adapter should be amber if it is charging.  Green just indicates that it is supplying power to the MBP.
    Try a SMC reset:
