my iphone 4 is stuck on a black screen with the loading sign in the middle. I cannot restart my phone because my lock button is broken. when i try to connect my phone to itunes it asks for my passcode which i am unable to enter because i cannot get on the main screen. any suggestions?

Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required... Be sure to make an appointment first...

If you're concerned, you could always create wallpaper with some sort of ID/contact information and place it on the lock screen. I wouldn't suggest using any direct contact for you, of course, for privacy reasons, but perhaps some sort of "neutral" emergency contact such as a relative's cell phone.
Or just carry some sort of ID; depending on a cell phone for identification probably isn't reliable regardless of the phone used. A MedicAlert bracelet or something similar might be your best option since that would allow emergency responders to get your information while still protecting your privacy.

I had the identical problem. I still don't know how to sync the tasks, but here's how I did the contacts and calendar:
1. Connect the 4s to the computer.
2. Open iTunes.
3. Click the iPhone box in the upper right corner.
4. Click on the info tab.
5. Hit the checkbox Sync Contacts with... and choose Outlook from the dropdown box.
6. Ditto for Calendars.
7. Hit Apply.
My problem was that originally, I wasn't getting the checkboxes. I turned off the iCloud settings on the 4s. That did the trick.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

No one can help you. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can unlock it. You will need to work with them.

IPhone4 help regarding video playback

I'm not techno, so I am sure someone out there can help real quick!
Whenever I use my PC to playback some of the short videos I have recorded on my iPhone, some of the clips are upside down, or 'on their side', and I can't see how to rotate them back to the way they should be.
Help?!?!

Incorrect sim in iPhone4 HELP!

I have a iPhone 4 on the O2 network which has been working fine, but last several months when I update to a new firmware (the iphone is not jailbreak) via iTunes. The iPhone installs the update and then locks itself incorrect sim. This has got me confused!
The iPhone is on O2 has always been, so why does it state incorrect sim.
Applle has replaced the iPhone each time its done this, But I would like to know what's the actual fault..,
Any advise?

Look carefully at the top of the color and black cartridges, you will see a small plastic ridge on the top of each near the front. The keying of these are different, there is a matching plastic part on the printer latch that (mostly) keeps the improper cartridge from being inserted in a slot. I would suggest taking out the other cartridge so you can see the latch area, perhaps with a flashlight. To remove the cartridge use a blunt knife to gently pry downward on the cartridge from the top of the latch. If you pry down just a bit you should be able to free the cartridge.

I need to retrieve photos off my iphone4 help please?

ok so recently i dropped my phone down the toilet which obvs caused water damage, my istincts where to act quickly and dry it off, however im a stupid teenager and decided to charge it into a power source ( i did this out off sheer panic) i know now i shouldn't have, i then asked my friends what to do and they said chuck it in a box of rice to dry out, so i did this and left it for around 24 or more hours i then plugged it into a power source again as it won't work without one. however it just turned itself off.
my problem is i didn't back my phone up properly last time it was plugged into itunes and the photos on there are part of my studies for my to pass my exams :/ which are round the corner! i have tried everything to get these photos off my phone but everything has failed. Even plugging it into the computer itself
im contacting my insurence about this all tomorrow as i need a phone as well as this ones now fried. but my main problem is these photos and if anybody has any clues or what so ever i would really appriciate it as im having a massive freak out purly based on a few photos appart from that its just a phone!
i also don't have icloud memory left so it won't have backed up with that :/

1st keep in mind that iCloud storage is different from photo stream storage, so you may not have backed up your iPhone as you said since you have no iCloud Storage but still there is a possibility that they are in photo stream storage. Apart from that I can only tell you that the main thing is somehow have the iPhone plugged in into a computer so you can import all pictures but if the computer does not see the device i´m afraid that you may not recover the pictures.

Push notifications stopped on my iPhone4 -- help please!

A week or so ago push notifications stopped on my iPhone 4, email, apps, everything. When I open certain apps a message pops up telling me to connect to iTunes to configure push notiications but I can't figure out where. Email is obviously the big issue I'm worreid about and I've checked my settings and all looks in order. I've even rebooted my phone but to no avail. Anyone know where or how to fix this?
