Iphone4 - NEW calendar entries in the PAST delete themselves!!

I have an iPhone4 which works well but I have an issue with my calendar. I have my works Outlook account synced (works well) and my person google email (works well) - where the problem is, is when I enter a new calendar entry for a past event (I may have forgoten to enter when I went to the dentist last), on save it appears as an event for that day in the list, then after about 2 seconds - its gone! For New events for the future, it works fine!
Anyone else had this problem?

Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
In the Calendars section near the bottom see how far back events are set to sync. That might be your problem.

Check which calendar you are trying it put this event on, then put it on the correct one.

Updated ios8 on ipad: new calendar entries do not sync to other Apple devices through iCloud

After downloading the latest ios8 update, the calendar function on my iPad no longer syncs as it should with my other Apple devices. Specifically, it will receive calendar entries made on those other devices but I can not make an entry on my iPad show up on the other devices. How do I fix this?
Related to this, some of the support community entries suggest logging out of iCloud and then logging back in. But then I read that what I have to do to do that is to delete my account. I don't want to do that. I want to keep everything I have on my iPad- mail, calendar, notes. I just want the sync function for new calendar entries to work.

Check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the Calendars section) on your iPad and make sure it's set to an iCloud calendar. If it isn't, make this change, then test calendars syncing again.
If your default calendar is set to and iCloud calendar, go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Calendars, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then turn Calendars back on. Test your calendar and see if it syncs properly now.

How to make room for new calendar entries???

Using PC Suite, I can no longer sync my Lotus Notes calendar with my Nokia phone, because the calendar on my phone is full. I also can't add any new calendar entries on my phone for the same reason.
Question: how can I delete everything older than 1 year on my Nokia phone calendar, without having to manually delete hundreds of items? That would free up the room I need, and I would set my sync settings to make sure the old calendar items don't get synced back to the phone again from Notes.

Which phone model do you have?
You can clear all the calendar entries on S60 based phones if you have the Calendar app in Month view; Options > Delete entry > All entries (or "Before date").

I recently updated to IOS6 and I cannot sync my calendar to icloud and all my notes are not appearing in cloud. If I have a new calendar entry, it is on my phone, but not on icloud. Need help making sure I don't lose any informaiton.

I recenly updated to IOS6. I have a couple issues after the process.
1- I lost all my calendar entries after the date I upgraded to IOS6 (all before the date were there). I created an icloud account to assure that I would not lose any going forward. Now when I enter a calendar entry, it does not appear on my icloud account. I can enter it in icloud and it will appear on my phone, but not the reverse.
2 - None of my notes transferred into icloud. I tried to manually enter one on icloud, again so I wouldn't lose this information going forward, and it appears on my iphone twice. I cannot figure out how to get the notes currently on my iphone into my icloud account.

you need to do a backup of the old phone and then on your new phone restore from that backup

Before syncing, select each calendar on your Mac and back it up by going to File>Export>Export. If anything goes missing, you can use these to restore your calendars.
Have you tried simply force closing the calendar app on your iPhone? To do this, double-tap the home button, locate the calendar app, then swipe up on the image above the app icloud to close it and tap the home bottom. Then test your calendar again.

I encountered a similar problem when finally (and with much regret) I was obliged to migrate my MobileMe to iCloud last month.
Many years of iCal history vanished without trace during this automated transition by Apple and iCloud then kindly synched the resulting vacuum back to iCal on my Mac.
Fortunately, iCloud wasn’t able to decimate iCal on my other Macs because (1) they are still running Snow and (2) I had switched them off as a precaution. Good job I did.
My solution was to export my iCal data on one of those other Macs to a backup file – then I imported that backup file into my Lion-updated Mac’s iCal. That restored all the iCloud-deleted iCal data back on to my Mac and this was promptly synched automatically to my Calendar on iCloud. So now it’s all there and showing.
Perhaps you could do something similar? In the meantime, be very careful not to let iCloud’s amnesia get synched to your iPhone (and other devices).
Experience has taught me never to trust an “upgrade” until it is proven to be working correctly and always to keep in reserve another Mac with a properly-functioning system and all synching to it switched off...

STOP showing hidden calendar entries in the Hub.

Following up on this request from a year ago. This is supposed to be a device and operating system built for productivity, but is completely USELESS if I have to see every single one of my coworkers' calendar entries in my Hub, even when their calendars are hidden in my calendar app.
The early builds of 10.3 don't show any difference here. PLEASE GUYS, PLEASE FIX THIS. You're an enterprise company now. I'm a business user. You have no idea how much time I waste by having to manually check coworkers' calendars from a desktop browser because I can't link them up to my phone.

Just wanted to provide input in clarifying some of the original posters ideas:
-In addition to hidden calendar entries not being shown in the hub, I think they (and I, and I'm sure a lot of other people!) want to be able to configure in the hub which calendar entries appear there based on calendar i.e. you shouldn't have to hide a calendar in the calendar app to stop the entries from appearing in the hub. It would be great to have all calendars showing in the calendar app but only calendar entries for the ones I choose in the hub
-Further to this, there should be something like a Calendars section in Hub Management. The reason I mention this is because for services like GMail which are configured in one shot, even if I select "Show in Separate Account Only" in the hub settings for that account, it will still show calendar entries (but will not show e-mail messages)
This is kinda a pain right now as I'll just have to disable those other calendars from showing on the phone (way too many entries being passed to the hub and cluttering it up), but I hope this is fixed soon. Loving the Passport, prior phone was a Bold 9900 and just trying to help you guys out! Thanks!

How do I separate a new calendar app from the one that came with ipad, so entries only are made in new app?

How do I separate the iPad's own generic calendar app from a calendar app I purchased, so that the entries I put into the new app don't cross over to the generic app? Also, whenever changing over to a new calendar app, is it always possible to transfer all data from the old to the new or is there a limit on quantity or time frame ever? Does it depend on the app?

After my upgrade to iOS6, my iPhone4 lost all entries in the Reading List and Bookmarks. I cannot add new entries. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

I'm not 100% positive that this is related to the iOS6 upgrade, but the timing is certainly suspicios. Previously, I had 7 entries in Safari's readling list and many entries in the Bookmarks. Now, I have nothing except the large pair of sunglasses and help text that tells me how to add a link to the reading list.
When I am looking at a webpage and click on the Forward button, I'm giving all sorts of choices now in full color... facebook... Message... Twitter... Mail... Add to homescreen. The following buttons are all grey: Print, Copy, Bookmark, and Add to Reading List.
I'm guessing that the icon color is a red herring. Print and Copy, despite being grey, appear to work fine. Bookmark and Add to Reading List have problems.
Adding to the Reading List makes the forwarding screen go away, as though the link was added. When I click on the Bookmark icon and look at my reading list, it remains empty, displaying the large sunglasses and help text, as though the list has never had an entry added to it.
Adding a Bookmark prompts me to enter the name and location. Interestingly, the list of locations is empty. I have a single folder with no name and a check mark next to it. I cannot do anything else (make a new folder, for example). Once added, when I click on the Bookmark icon to look at my bookmarks, that list remains empty of individual bookmarks. All I have are: Reading List (still empty), History (full of expected entries), Bing (which takesme to some Bing thing).
Any help in restoring my bookmarks and Reading List entries would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks. That solved it. I had my doubts since I wasn't concerned about my lost bookmarks. I was concerned about the broken functionality. In any event, restoring from a backup solved both the functionality and the lost bookmarks. I appreciate the response!

Can't add new calendar entries after losing all calendar entries

I have asked about retrieving lost calendar entries that I had nothing to do with deleting.
Went to ICloud and there are no entries there, either, even though the calendar is turned on in Settings on my IPhone 5s.
I tried adding new entries to the calendar and it will not accept them.
What is up here?????

I discovered the same yesterday when I tried to create a calendar item. Also got a weird bug on my iPad where in week / landscape mode I can't swipe right unless I swipe left a little and then get some momentum to swipe right.

Z10 calendar entries can't be deleted

On getting my Z10 I performed a device swop using Blackberry Link from from Blackberry 9860 running OS 7.1.
It was a virtual failure, only copying a few pieces of data, no contacts at all and only a few calendar entries, which were from 2011. On my Z10 I delete these old entries, some of which are recurring ones, only to find that when I restart my phone they all return. I have tried battery pulls and editing them so they no longer are recurring entries but nothing works. I start the phone in the morning and they all return.
Can anyone help?

Are these calendar entries synchronized with any email accounts? Like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail?
If they are, I would suggest turning off Wireless synchronization and then remove the calendar entries and test.
Go to Setting>Accounts and delete the calendar account.

Calendar entries made, edited or deleted on my iphone are not pushing to my PC outlook calendar.

For some reason any calendar event or entry that I create, edit or delete on my Iphone 3GS is not pushing on to my PC Outlook calendar. When I check my calendar via the web at Icloud.com the entries I create, edit or delete on my Iphone are all correct.....but for some reason they don't seem to make it on to my Outlook calendar.
On the other hand, when I create, edit or delete an event on my PC Outlook calendar they do get pushed correctly on to my Iphone.....so it seems to only be working one way.
Looking forward to any help you can provide.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

IdeaPad S205: BIOS/EFI menu not accessible after adding a new boot entry using the bcfg command

I just got a new S205 and wanted to install Win7 and archlinux in dual boot (GPT formatted SSD).
Win7 installation worked like a charm. Archlinux worked well aswell, unfortunately i couldn't make a boot entry following this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide#EFISTUB
So i had to manually create the boot entry using bcfg command in an efi shell:

The first attempt (I double checked that i got the right filesystem [fs0] and so on) failed and resulted in an automatic reboot. After this I immediately reentered the efi shell and tried again. This time I could create the boot entry.
Now if I reboot everything seems fine (I can dual boot Win and arch) BUT I cannot access BIOS/EFI menu via F2 anymore. It seems like it just does not exist anymore. How do I get it back? Should I just flash over with the original EFI from the Lenovo download page? I could theoretically do that (I can still change boot order using my arch live medium), but i could not reset EFI prior to flashing... which is always recommended to do.
So I am - again - pretty stuck with this EFI. I hope you can help and tell me what to do.
This EFI-Implementation on the S205 must be the worst piece of "engineering" ever.
Nothing works the way it is intended to... I would not dare to wash my hands clean off any faults, but ADDING a boot entry resulting in a not accessible BIOS/EFI menu... there's just something wrong.

At least I now know what the problem is:
It seems like the S205 can only keep 7 boot entries in NVRAM (Can anybody concern?).
As I already have 7 boot entries:
adding a new entry using efibootmgr tool does not work (fails without error) and gummiboot doesn't work either. Nevertheless, adding a boot entry (for rEFInd) from within the UEFI shell works, but seems to result in deleting "Boot0000" aka Setup which then breaks my EFI. Breaking meaning that I cannot access it anymore.
I can however (and did so twice yesterday) flash the original EFI from within Windows and thus gain access to the EFI menu again. Nevertheless this resets my boot entries again so the refind (or gummiboot) bootloader gets deleted again and only Win7 is bootable.
Now what would be the smartest way to dual boot this system? Which of the boot entries is safe to delete so i could install refind/gummiboot instead? For instance, I don't know where USB FDD and USB CD come from. Can I delete them? Or won't I be able to boot from external CD-ROM or USB drive anymore if I delete them?
Or would it be best to delete the Win7 bootloader and try to have refind/gummiboot boot it? And will they at all be able to still find the Win7 boot files once I deleted Win7's boot entry? When I install refind as bootloader and manually add an boot entry for it using the bcfg boot add command it is able to load Windows7. But will this still be possible if I delete the Win7 boot entry? It would most likely be possible - I assume - if the Win7 boot files (on the EFI system partition) were still there even after deleting the boot entry. Can someone tell me how deleting a boot entry exactly works and which files get or don't get deleted?
