Iphone4 Safari font size

I searched the iPhone settings and the discussions forum but can't find a way to increase the font size on the iphone4 in Safari. I want to read these discussions on the iPhone but the font is too small, even in landscape mode and double-clicking to column-zoom in.
Is there a way? If not, can anyone recommend a 3rd party browser tha allows this?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, julieda...
....that is what I have been doing but it gets Old. If the column is too wide, I have to not only finger-spread the text, but move left and right to read the entire column of text. I was hoping to be able to enlarge the text and have it to where I just vertical-scroll.
But I am a nice guy, so here's a star.

  • Safari Font Size Too BIG

My daughter was on my computer and somehow changed the font size in safari and it is too big.  I've tried the command/shift/- and   and that is not changing the appearance (font is still too big).  Any other suggestions?  All webpages are affected.

Figured it out (thanks prior poster)
Go to Safari Preferences > Advanced.
Then adjust the size of type to display as you like it.
This one is set to 10, but you can up to 24 if you need to.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPhone Safari Font Sizes are bad

Anyone else notice the bad font sizes in iPhone Safari?
I am writing a web site and am having trouble getting safari to render fonts on the iphone the same way they are rendered on safari... I tried changing the font-family to Verdana and Arial since those are supposed to be supported on both the iPhone and Mac Safari but that did not fix it...
As a great example go to google and search for something on your iphone.
The word "Sign in" on the top right is too large...
The word "Web" (right under the search box) is too small...
The other words in the blue bar with "Web" are also too large...
Right now my current solution is to pin point things that are too small and too large and on a case by case basis change the font sizes for those elements... This is pretty ridiculous when you have a large site and lots of pages...

Sweet your thing wasnt right but pointed me to the right location:
    I just needed:

  • Safari Font Size

Is there a way to set the font size to be slightly larger than the default setting in Safari.  The default text size is too small for me and I constantly have to click command + or the Zoom feature on the tool bar for each site i go to.  I'd rather the setting be larger as I browse my favorite sites.

Font size no, but a workaround would be to try another resolution.
System Preferences > Displays > Display > Scaled
Or, try Safari > Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom
You could also try another browser such as Firefox >  Download Firefox
Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages | Firefox Help
Always good to have a backup browser installed in case you have problems with Safari.

  • Safari font size changing as if by magic !

while using Safari on my new al macbook , the font size will just change, seemingly on its own, if I close the window and reopen, it will return to the font size set in Preferences. Does anyone know what is going on? thank you joanlvh

as far as I can tell there is no pattern, it might happen on Huffington Post in the am, but not in the pm, the computer is just 3 days old so I don't think i can put the blame on History or Cache, this is the 5th apple laptop i have had in 3+ years and I have never seen this occur before, It seems, can't be sure to happen when I click the curser and the cursor is in the top right area of the screen. It is only happening with safari, not Mail or other applications, I have set the Safari Preferences for text size.
ps scratch the right corner idea, it just happened when I was typing and the cursor was in the bottom left and I did not click but started to move the cursor

  • Iphone ios 7 safari font size (not again)

does anyone read the forum using iphone ios 7 and find that the text too small?
The only way is to pinch to zoom but it doesn't fit in screen. No way to adjust font size in the browser and fit the screen.
    Irritating ever since the beginning...

    Hi LexGear,
The first troubleshooting steps that I would suggest for you is to simply restart your phone, then reset your phone if the issue persists:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

  • Window Maximizing and Safari font size

I have a 13 inch Macbook. Why can't I completely open the safari window, or any window for that matter?
The font on web pages ar so small, I can hardly read. I tried changing the display setting but it just made the window display kind of grainy. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Try holding down command and hit + a couple times. You can reverse this by holding command and hitting - a few times.

  • Turn off Safari font preferences

How do I turn off the Safari font size preferences to allow pages to choose their own fonts and font sizes? Like I can in the Firefox preferences.

I am not the original poster, but I am having similar problems with Safari, especially in displaying Greek Fonts.
I have all the necessary Greek fonts installed on my computer (and then some!). Pages with Greek text encoded in their style sheets display fine in Firefox, but Safari only displays the English letters instead of the Greek fonts.
Is there no way to allow pages to select their own fonts in Safari like there is in Firefox?
    Try this link:
    http://www.htmlbible.com/sacrednamebiblecom/kjvstrongs/B46C013.htm
The Greek letters display fine for me in Firefox with the above link, but, in Safari, nothing but English characters.

  • How to change font size in Safari?

Why is it when I set my fonts inside Safari to say, 18 for standard and 18 for fixed. It doesn't display that way. I keep getting the tiny font that I've always used.

The font size you specify in the Preferences (18 for standard) will be used only if the font size is not specified by the web page. Nowadays most of webpages (including this Discussions) specify fonts and sizes to use in the CSS file, and the setting in the Preferences will be ignored.
As andyBall writes, you can set the minimum size of fonts in Safari-Preferences-Advanced. But the results may not satisfy you (wrong line spacings etc.).
In the same Preferences, you can specify your own CSS file, as explained in the following post by Tom Gewecke:
Re: Setting default font size doesn't stick
But here again, line spacings etc. are not adjusted correctly. To write a detailed personal CSS file by yourself is very tedious, if not impossible.
As you might know, you can enlarge the fonts (and spacings) by hitting "command +" (press-hold the command key and hit the + key, or the = key; it seems you need not to press the shift key). I will be very pleased if someone tells me how to make this "enlarged" state the default.

  • Minimum Font Size not working in Safari 4.0.4

Setting the minimum font size in Safari is ineffectual. Also, there seems to be another problem: the right and left sides of the search box on the right on this page are doubled and look like this: (( )). Are there any solutions to fix these? Thanks.

This is a know issue that the hosts know. This problem has been happening for many months. Apple doesn't own the program that makes this forum happen. So it's not an easy fix for the host to do. Maybe on day they get the maker of the forum program to fix it. The search box still works.

  • Font size difference between Dreamweaver, view in Safari and on friend's PC

In Dreamweaver CS3, I have a table with two cells containing type. In order to get the type to not appear too large, I need to size the type down to 6pt size on screen in Dreamweaver, then it appears like about 10pt normal size text in my Safari browser on a Mac and then it appears too small, but readable and larger than what I am seeing in Dreamweaver on a friend's PC through AOL. This mystifies me as it is only happening on this one page. When I leave the paragraph text at normal size in this table cell it becomes way too large when viewed in the Safari browser, so what I am doing is sizing it down to 40% (miniscule) in dreamweaver so it will come up in the browser as normal paragraph text size.
Never had this happen before. Any Ideas?
    TIA,
    Ken

I would strip this site back to basics by removing all font sizes in your CSS.
    Then avoid %.
Re-build font sizes just using px.
Don't mix units (ems, % etc) until you have a consistent baseline and reason for doing so..
Pt is solid and reliable on paper. Px is solid and reliable on screen.

  • Font size when printing from Safari to HP Photosmart 6520 printer

I just bought a Macbook Pro 13 inch, running OSX 10.9.5.  When I try to print something from within a Safari web page to my HP PhotoSmart 6520 printer, the font is huge. Does anyone know how to adjust the font size for use with Safari. The font size seems to be ok when I print from Pages, for example. So I m thinking the issue may be limited to printing from Safari.

No one has replied yet and HP has never played well with Apple, so the best I can do right now is to point out a site that has proven very helpful to many users wanting or needing to read up on color management and printing:

  • Different font sizes in Explorer and Safari

Hi there, before I go completely nuts can someone give me a
hand with figuring out how I can get my plain old body text to
display at the same size in both Explorer and Safari.
I am using a Mac myself, but when entering text at size 1, it
is displaying larger in Explorer (at about the size I want) and
very small in Safari (too small to be easily readable). I have done
some research and thought cascading style sheets might be the way
to go but I have also read that the some text problems occur when
    using cascading style sheets.
I haven't bothered with them previously as there hasn't been
that much text to bother with them.
Has anyone got any tips, or has used CSS to fix this problem?
    Regards,
    Elle V
p.s. if you are using a mac, you can check out what I mean by
    viewing www.homestylefinance.com.au/company.html in both browsers.
I would be interested in hearing from a PC user to see if they are
    seeing the same thing.

You can define your text sizes in many different ways:
    points, pixels, em,
    percentages, etc.
I personally use a percentage to define my base font-size in
    my style sheet,
and then declare different text sizes in em's for different
    selectors. I'd
stay away from points (which it sounds like you're using them
    - due to the
fact that cross-browser display varies). I'd also stay away
    from pixels,
because IE users can not resize their browser text size.
My personal suggestion would be to use em's to declare your
    font sizes. Here
is an example of something you could put in your CSS document
    (which you'll
    want to start using):
    body { font-size: 100%; }
    .text1 { font-size: .75em }
    HTH, take care.
