IPhone4 shuts down all by itself

My iPhone 4 shuts down all by itself , even though battery is more than 50% ? How to get this fix this ? I have tried resetting this phone, but still did not work.

Hey Anantharam!
I have an article here for you that can walk you through some troubleshooting steps for this issue:
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Specifically, this section will be the most relevant for your question:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!
Regards,
Braden

  • Iphone4s shut down at battery level 30% when using 3G

    hi,
i am gan from malaysia, iphon4s 6.0.1 user, phone age 1.5 years old
Recently have 1 unique problem to ask for buddy helps in here. thank you 1st for all.
my iphone4s shut down at battery level 30% when i use 3G service only, turn on 3G service to use around 5 hours to shut down my phone, from 100% - 30%.
but, it doesnt happen when i turn on my WIFI, or use normally.
    hard reset - done..
    soft reset - done.
    itunes restore - done.
    battery calibration - done.
battery - it seems not a battery problem because when i use WIFI, or normal use without data, i can use until 1% until phone shut down itself.
upgrade ios 7.0.4 - the battery could drain more faster if i upgrade to this firmware.
i have no idea, even i go for apple store, their technical helps are same with my level, except they ask me to change a new iphone, wow..
anybody in here could help or experience this?

anyone can help me to solve this problem?

  • Trouble with Safari - it keeps shutting down - all because I tried to get rid of MacKeeper

trouble with Safari - it keeps shutting down - all because I tried to get rid of MacKeeper ad - after I install what I thought was an update since I already had MacKeeper, it would not allow me to continue without buying the new one. Make a long story short I switch to Firefox and deleted as much as I could of Safari (files, preferences etc) Now I'm at OS Yosemite X 10.10.2 and would like to get Safari up and running again - I've searched for Adware in applications etc but could not find it. Found what to do from the community, but before I go that route...Do I have to know where or if I actually have this spyware?    And if I were to reinstall  Maveric - would my files and such be undisturbed?  so that only Safari would be replaced?    I"M LOST .... (as if you couldn't tell)
I've been working with Mac for 30 years or more and although I'm hands on taught the only thing I lack is the newer "buzz words" so if you can help me out - please make it simple ??  thanks

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • When shutting down all devices at days end is it advisable to pull the power plug daily on the Time Capsule.

When shutting down all devices at days end is it advisable to pull the power plug daily on the Time Capsule.

It is up to you to decide.
My opinion would be that if Apple wanted you to power down the Time Capsule on a regular basis, they would have included an "Off" switch, or a means to power off the Time Capsule from your computer.

  • HT4993 My iPhone 5 keeps trying to download something. The wheel by the wifi symbol is continually spinning. What can I do to stop it? I have shut down all apps.

The wheel that shows your downloading something on my iPhone 5 will not stop spinning. What can I do to stop it? I have shut down all apps, restarted my phone as well I have pushed the power button & home button at the same time. Still no luck.

If restart and reset don't solve this problem then something must be being started when your iPhone starts up that cannot complete.
You might consider restoring your iPhone to Factory via iTunes.

  • Safari still shuts down all internet...

Safari still shuts down all internet access when browsing abcnews.com and cbsnews.com at random times. Mail stops connecting, safari just hangs... Good thing that turning off Airport then back on again trick works everytime. So if anyone is getting this scenario, just quit all internet related apps and quit Airport and turn it back on, it should work again.

I would suggest you to upgrade/reflash the firmware of the router.Reset the router for 45 seconds and reconfigure it from the scratch.Download the firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads,enter the model no in the search box and choose the correct version number...download the firmware and save it on the desktop.Login into the linksys setup page and click on Administration tab to upgrade the firmware.

  • Early 2011 MacBook Pro shutting off all by itself

Early 2011 MacBook Pro 11" shutting off all by itself recently.
I had the logic board replaced 11 months ago because it started to shut off more and more until it refused to boot up again.
Now I am going through the same problem. Is this common?

    OK, in that case:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Upgrading to Lion or Mountain Lion will not solve the problem.

Because there is something wrong with the iPad? Try restoring the device with iTunes. Start with that.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • I have a 2009 iMac. It is shutting down all the time. I am beyond over this. If no luck with help on here I am making an appointment to have service.

  • IPhone4 shuts down when mildly cold?

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered anything similar, and if someone might know whats going on...
Aside from the consistently poor signal and practically unusable 3G speed in everyday use, I'm having a problem with my iPhone 4 completely shutting itself off when it is in my backpack whilst I am riding my mountain bike.
It's not particularly cold in there (UK summer), but that is when the phone is at it's coldest throughout my weekly useage. The phone is in a case and it in no way taking any abuse. Once I get home I have to wait 10 minutes for the thing to warm up again and then perform a two button reset, obviously making taking the phone out in the first place completely pointless.
I really hope that it is a fault my partcular unit, as I'd expect the iP4 would be able to perform this most basic of functions that my 3 year old bashed up Nokia had no trouble at all with.
    Any suggestions very much appreciated.

I have an IPhone4 and mine does the same thing. When only slightly cold it shuts completely down. I don't buy Apple's little "32 degrees" garbage either becaause that would mean that if I lived in a place like New York where everyone is constantly walking from block to block I couldn't walk around the city in the middle of winter and talk on my phone..........so I just paid hundreds of dollars for a phone that I can only use say half the year when it's warm out?
Also, I did a little test, I have an older IPhone 3G and I put my 3G and my 4 side by side in my car. With the engine shut off, I left them both in their for about 15 minutes (I live in Northern Michigan, and I did this this morning). I went back out to my car and sure enough the IPhone 4 was shut down yet the 3G was working fine. Now, Apple either wants me to be without my phone while they repair/replace it or allow them to charge/authorize my credit card $500.00 for an advance replacement until they get my current defective phone back. Of course a third option is to drive to my local Apple store (3 hours drive one way) to have them replace it.
It's time to switch to a phone I can use all year around, that works in any weather....... A Droid based phone from Verizon!!!!

  • IPhone 4s looks shut down all the time.especially when the 3g is on.in the forums its said to push the use button and the power button at the same time.the people calling me cannot reach at my phone.what should i do ?

my phone looks like offline all the time.its all about me to notice that its offline.then i have to push the main button and the power button together to open it.then the apple sign comes on the screen and the phone turns online.but i cannot receive the information of who called me at the time that my iphone 4s turned offline by itself.i cannot receive messages at all.what can i do now ? i sent the phone to the service and they just told me that they installed the current version.but i guess nothing happened.its doing the same thing again.i cannot use my iphone.
    From Turkiye.

I've tried all those. But nothing works. The phone seems to be shut down. But it is not. When i get it out of my pocket, for example to call someone, i touch to main button but nothing happens.I solve it by pushing the power button and the main button together just for a couple of seconds, as its said so in the forums.
also, people told me that they were calling me, my phone was ringing but i didnt answer?...i checked it for millions of times, it seems to be shut down, but its normally not.then i push the buttons together and the apple sign comes on the screen.it searches for the network.and it works.
but i do not see any calls, texts anything.but for the others, they say my phone seems to be workin.
I thought it was 'cause of the 3G is switched on but when I turn 3G off, it does the same thing.it seems to be offline all the time.

  • Qosmio X870 shut down all of a sudden

My Qosmio X870 shut itself down all of a sudden and wouldnt turn on or charge for about an hour, what does this mean?

I think it was a high temperature issue.
Mostly the notebooks shut down automatically to prevent the hardware from damage.
If the cooling grilles are full of dust or debris, its advisable to remove this using compressed air spray.

  • Internet usage(wifi or e/3g) or short time on stanby shuts down all network usage(texting, calling, internet) or requires phone restore?

itunes had been bugging me to update my software on the phone for about a week. On the day i was finally going to do it, the phone randomly shut down and restarted with the screen showing that the phone needed to be connected to itunes for some reason. i tried restarting the phone and resetting it, hoping the problem would go away, i didnt. When i connected to itunes on my computer, it said that an update was needed, but also the phone needed to be restored. when it was done, nothing was restored and i was left with a blank phone basiclly, not really a problem. The next day though, it shut down and came back up as a restore was needed again, and again, and again. For some reason now though, if i reset the phone while its on, turn it off, then back on, everything appears to be fine, though if i try to use the internet by wifi,3g, or e; it shuts all networks down on the phone. also while i have the phone just sitting by itself or when im just listening to music or something, the phone just shuts down and then comes back on as normal again, still not able to really use the internt though. Anyone have any ideas on this?

I understand how critical is to get emails while on our cellular network etymomel.
First I recommend removing your exchange server email completely, then power off and on to reset your device and then add email back. I also recommend to clear Data and Cache from your email application Menu>SystemSettings>Apps>All>EmailAccoutns(may be more than one)>ClearData/Cache as applicable. Keep us posted.
