Iphone4 stuck in recovery after attempted update failed error 1602

Hi
My iphone was running outdated software and i tried to update via Itunes
The phone is an Iphone4, UK phone on orange, never jailbroken or messed with
I plugged the phone in with the latest version of itunes and it said "your software needs to be updated... etc "
So i clicked the OK button, it went through the motions of backup and verifying and started updating, then it got stuck on the screen saying "iphone is being updated "or the like i left it for half an hour and a message came up saying Iphone could not be updated due to error 1602 etc etc
The phone now has a pic f the USB on screen does not get recognised by Itunes
I have deleted itunes and the device driver support and re installed, no luck, so i tried another iphone, it connects and shows up no problems
I have read lots of googled info on getting out of recovery by combinations of power and home button presses but no combination works as yet
I have tried to get into DFU mode but no luck
It seems as though everyone wants me to download programs to fix this like tiny umbrella and recovery fix etc. i do not want to do any of this so please dont advise this
Please help
Stuck wihout a phone is doing my head in
Steve

OK i have had a little luck
I removed the USB and tried another port. and it seems to be connecting at the moment .

Does anyone know how to fix this?
I connected iPad to windowx xp desktop with latest itunes and it asked to update the iPad. After the update failed, it keeps showing connect to itunes on iPad, yet the itunes doesn't seem to recognize it. Also as I connect iPad it shows in the bottom right *Apple Mobile Device (recovery mode)* and Found New Hardware window pops up. Does this mean I will lose all apps and saved files/books?

Thanks but I'm not even able to recover at the moment.. I called in and did what the support suggested, uninstalling all 3 apple programs + itunes and quicktime and restarted, reinstalled itunes, restarted and plugged ipad back in. Result is still the same. iPad shows connect to itunes and my computer displays "Found New Hardware" window while itunes doesn't show any devices. So I'm guessing something with drivers?
This is what it shows in device manager:

I wish I didn't do the update at all
You need to do the updates, because they slowly improve the performance of your iPad. And soon, iOS 4.0 is coming, which you will absolutely want, because it take the iPad to a whole new world.
I'm not even close to being an expert on Windows, not having used it in about 10 years. But I've monitored this board for a while, so here are some suggestions:
    1. Try a different USB port, if you have one. Don't use a USB hub, try to connect directly to your computer.
    2. If possible, see if your cable is damaged. It happens.
    3. Before doing this, just make sure you have complete backup files from your most recent backup. I'm not sure where to find them, but as I recall, they should be located in your iTunes files. Then, completely reset and wipe your iPad, by going to Settings, General, Reset. Again, don't even consider this if you can't find your backup locations. You might want to search these discussions with "backup AND Windows AND location" to see where they're located.
If none of this works, go to an Apple Genius. He can plug you into a Mac to see if the iPad has a problem.
Again, it's not the update that caused the problem, it's a corrupted file or something. You'll fix it, so don't worry.

  • Stuck after attempting updates

I just got this laptop last Wednesday. Today while checking my email the screen went black and then went to an update screen. It said it would restart as soon as the update completed. Now it is stuck on a start up screen that read:
    we couldn't complete the updates
    Undoing changes
    Don't turn off your computer
It's been stuck like this for close to three hours. How do I fix this?

    Hi @Kassia85 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Pavilion 17 Notebook and getting a blank screen on startup after some updates failed. Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.
If these do not help you could call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link to get the support number for your region. They will be happy to assist you immediately.
    Thanks.

  • Iphone 4 stuck in recovery after 6.1 update

My iphone 4 is currently stuck in recovery after the latest 6.1 update.  My windows computer won't recognise it as a device so it won't connect to itunes, it won't do a hard restart and the screen just displays the 'connect to itunes' symbol.  Help needed please!

if you do a hard reset, there's no reaction?

  • IPhone 6 is stuck in recovery after trying to restore.

I am using an iPhone 6 and had initially thought the not connecting to iTunes issue was local as the Service site was saying everything was working so I have started to restore and update my iPhone but this is now stuck in recovery mode and is returning error 6 and failing to install the update. Could this be related to the service issues that Apple is currently having?

Unplug the iPhone from the computer. Plug it in again after a few seconds and let iTunes detect the phone and give the warning that it is in recovery. Restore it again.
The first time I tried to upgrade my 5S I had the same problem. It is because iTunes took to long to extract the software so the phone disconnected. The second  time, the extraction was much faster and it completed.

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3

my iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3 and even itunes is not responding . and i m using newest software of itunes on mac. please help.

If you followed all of the steps within that article then it's almost always a hardware issue. Reason being is that if you attempted restoring the iPhone from another computer (as the article informs you to), and you are still stuck in recovery mode, it proves that it is not a problem with the iTunes installation on your computer.

Problem updating After Effects CC (2014)  I get this message: Update Failed  Error encountered during installation. (U44M1P7)

    Hi,
    It’s version 13.1.1  It’s a trial version.
I am updating it from the Creative cloud desktop application.
I have the photography subscription with Lightroom and Photoshop with Creative Cloud.
I was interested in trying out the video software and have trials of Premiere Pro as well as others.  The CC desktop app alerted me to the AF update just as it does for the others I subscribe to plus the ones I am using as trials.  I have not had any problems with the other apps (trial or not), only with AF.
    Thanks.

  • I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error after iTunes update failed?

I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error after iTunes update failed?

Seems the base of the problem is the update installation does not change the libraries but the software wants to see them changed.  So the user has to go clear out all software that shares the libraries and then install the full version so they are rebuilt properly.

  • Months ago I tried to uninstall itunes from Windows 7 after an update failed. I couldn't do it because two files, ShellStreams.resources and ShellStreams.dll were in use. Any suggestions, please?

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for tips on repairing the iTunes installation. One of the tools mentioned there, Unlocker, should be able to force delete the files that you are having trouble removing.

my ipod touch gen 4 will not recovery after software update. have tried everything. device not recognized by itunes. any ideas?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Macbook pro - iPhoto keep prompting to update after Yosemite update. Error message when trying to update -This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was cancelled

macbook pro - iPhoto keep prompting to update after Yosemite update. Error message when trying to update -This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

I only have 1 apple ID and the same was used to set up this early 2011 macbook pro and iPhoto app. I don't want to loose out on any photos. I tried logging out of app store and back in but no luck. PLEEAASEE HELPP!!!
This problem has been reported by quite a few forum members, who skipped the update to iPhoto 9.5.1 while running Mavericks. In that case try to purchase iPhoto again instead of updating.
After making your backup try the following:
Uninstall iPhoto by deleting it from the applications folder, but do not empty the Trash.
Launch the App Store, click the "Store" menu, and sign in with your AppleID.
Open the main page of the App Store and search for iPhoto.
If iPhoto is listed as "Free", click the "Free" button to buy it with your current AppleID.
If it is not showing as free, there is no help but contacting the App Store Support, as Niel pointed out: http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact/

  • Can anyone answer why in logic pro X I keep getting a window popping up that says Directory not found, result code= -120, followed by another window saying, Fade update failed, (error -120)?

I am running the latest version 10.0.5 through a Macbook Pro that has just been upgraded to 16GB Ram and a 960GB SSD which has made it as fast as ****. I upgraded because I was experiencing problems before and it was suggested that I didn't have enough Ram?
I am using a Focusrite scarlett 2i4 and an Alesis Q61 midi controller. Weirdly, just trying to put a bass line down on a track using the Alesis, the bass sound goes out of tune with the track during recording only. This is very frustrating! I surely can't be the only one experiencing this?
    Many thanks
    Rob.

    Hi
Time lost could be a problem, but.....
Sadly, I don't think that there are any Apple docs relating to networked storgae issues with Logic. Other than a 'school' or 'business' setup, NAS/OD/AD setups are not usual circumstances for audio.
If the issue is one of data backup & security, it may be enough to automatically backup the students local work folders to the NAS.
If the issue is one of the Users being able to work from any Mac and pick up their files from the server, you are not likely to resolve this problem, without copying the files to the Local Mac.
