Does Iphone4 support Facetime Audio/Video using 3G? Or only when using Wifi?

iPhone 4 does not support FaceTime over cellular, only Wi-Fi.
You need iPhone 4S or later and also only if the carrier supports it,

  • Do the latest iPad or iPhone4s support Bluetooth APT-X?

Does anyone know if iPad or iPhone4S support Bluetooth APT-X as I am considering getting a BT APT-X stereo headset?
    Thanks,
    Wen

I only see the following in the latest release for A2DP, it does not sepcify which encoding/decoding technology is supported such as SBC, AAC, APT-X, etc under A2DP
    Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile allows high quality audio (stereo or mono) to be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection. This is commonly used to play music wirelessly from iOS to a wireless headset or a compatible car audio system.

  • How many email accounts does the iphone4 support?

Wanted to know how many different e-mail accounts will the new iphone4 support?
    thanks

If there is an email account limit with the iPhone or with the current firmware version and with any previous firmware versions, I'm not aware of it. You shouldn't have any problem creating and accessing 6 email accounts.

  • HSDPA support in Nokia handsets

Hi, I'm very interested in Nokia products, but I'm not interested in buying a handset that doesn't have good connectivity options.
The 9500/9300 communicators don't appear to have 3G, so does anyone know if the 3G handsets (specificially the E-series, which have both decent keyboards and wifi - which I think is a must have these days since the networks don't allow SIP over their 'unlimited' data connections) support HSDPA (so-called '3G broadband') for high-speed 3G data?
If not, can anyone recommend a handset from someone else that does support HSDPA, wifi, and has a decent keyboard? It's absolutely essential that it also function as a bluetooth modem, since that's why I want the HSDPA!
    Thanks in advance!

yes, that link is one rufao already posted. i will assume he read this. essentially, the UK networks will use this technology to bolster the existing 3g network and pave the way for future technologies. however, they wont commit as wimax is so close. only tmobile will offer the faster speeds - and this will probably be with their equipment (or branded) too soon to say really, but right now - there are no nokia phones that do this.
If he read it, why did he state that no networks support HSDPA, then?
On any forum I've used before, it's always been really bad form to post incorrect information. It's better to say nothing than tell people the wrong information.
I definitely knew that Vodafone supported HSDPA, as I've seen Vodafone branded HSDPA PCMCIA cards, which are of no use to me (my laptop has no PCMCIA slots).
It's a pity that there's no information on Nokia's plans for this technology - it seems like they're going to be left behind again.
Does anyone have any experience using HSDPA on Vodafone's network, even just with their own-brand PCMCIA card? I'm curious about what sort of speeds you can realistically expect.

  • Bluetooth Searching on iphone4

I have iphone4 with, iOS4.1 . when i turn-on the bluetooth, the iphone starts automatically searching for Devices, but it keeps searching and do not find any bluetooth device turned-on near it, although i put 3 different mobile phones (nokia, sonyericsson)and i also put iphone4, the two iphone4's did not see each other. Nokia phone sees my iphone but can not pair to it.
I know that old iphones (ex: 3Gs) and old iOS (ex: 3.1) allow only pairing to bluetooth headsets only, but i thought that the new iOS4.1 or even iphone4 supports bluetooth pairing with other phones, computers....
I'm afraid that my iphone4 has a problem (defect) on bluetooth. Please explain this to me.

"I know that old iphones (ex: 3Gs) and old iOS (ex: 3.1) allow only pairing to bluetooth headsets only, but i thought that the new iOS4.1 or even iphone4 supports bluetooth pairing with other phones, computers.."
    Not true.
Bluetooth is for headsets/speakers, peer-to-peer apps, telephone handsfree/headsets and tethering where permitted by the carrier.
It does not support file transfer.
It will not connect to other phones or computer ( except for tethering where permitted).

  • Nokia 3G phone supporting bluetooth modem

I'm looking to get a Nokia phone that can act as a Bluetooth modem in Linux (from what I can see if it can act like a Bluetooth modem at all it should just work). What models support this? What spec should I look out for?
    Thanks

I don't use Linux so I can only give you half an answer.
However Nokia do not make drivers for Linux.
I use my handsets with Windows and for that application you really need to be looking for one that has HSDPA - High Speed Downlink Packet Access. This allows speeds ranging from 1.8mbps to 7.2mbps depending on your carrier networks capability.
You'll also need to be connected to a network that supports HSDPA.
The Nokia N95, N95 8Gb, N82, and 6220 Classic, and a few other handsets support HSDPA.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

  • Bluetooth recording on iPhone4

    Hi,
Does the iPhone4 allow the recording of voice via bluetooth?
I'm looking for an easy way to use my hands free bluetooth earpiece and record my voice (and ideas) into the iPhone.
It'd be wonderful to be able to do this sort of stuff so I can later transcribe them.
Anyone doing this now or know how to actually it - is there an app for that?
    Any help would be wonderful

  • A question about WLAN and processor speed

Hi there! i'm looking at replacing my "old" Nokia E5-00. I'm thinking of the newer Nokia E6 or the Samsung Galaxy Pro B7510 Android QWERTY phone.
My stupid question is will a faster processor be of any help when it comes to opening/closing/downloading of apps?
WIll a faster HSDPA and HSUPA capability mean that if if you want to make your phone as a wifi hotspot (via an app or via a built-in feature) is it an advantage?*
    * like comparing the 3 phones i mentioned.
I just want to ask about your take on this one .
    Please help....

A faster processor surely helps in a faster and quicker operations and multi-tasking but it depends upon the OS it runs. Android and Symbian are entirely different in application handling. Symbian doesn't need a high spec processor like Android devices. HSDPA and UPA are more iclined towards your operator, if your network service provider supports HSDPA&UPA and your phone too support it works well for Wi-fi tethering.

  • Ipad 2 is not that old, you wont let us have tethering?

Is it really that hard to give us function to share internet or just tethering with usb? even iphone4 support personal hotspot, ipad 2 who share same cpu would able to do it fine but you want us to buy THE NEW IPAD that badly? i even use ipad2 about a year.
For my iphone only have small data plan just for playing whatsapp or communication app, the one that need tethering now is ipad. It got the most data plan.
And now when i want to use laptop i have to take ipad sim out and stick it to iphone just for kicks and cannot receive any call during internet use, this *****. My ipad sim tray gonna loose.
Okay, still there is an option. Buy THE NEW IPAD for personal hotspot!!
Yeah, hope iOS6 support it for ipad2 (just usb mode is ok) else I better use 3rd Party app like MyWi instead of throwing this ipad2 even i hate the idea of JB but Apple left us no other choice.

Even i leave feedback they will never mention, I have try it before then there is nothing even confirmation email that feedback is received.
If there are a lot of people asking for it, Maybe.
I don't know why, they know people have to JB for this function (MyWi) and they still not impliment it. Thus they say don't like people to JB.
They don't want people to JB then if it not that hard thing to do, just do it.

  • IPhone 4 video to TV out?

I had a wire that took my ipod nano 3rd gen out to my TV. worked great. does not work with my new verizon iPhone 4.
Is there a cord that takes video on my iPhone out to my TV?

Belkin makes one I have seen it at Frys... I looked at it it was more $$ and not as high quality. The iPhones do not directly support HDMI so you might as well let the TV do the conversion. The iphone4 supports 576p and 480p with Apple Component AV Cable; 576i and 480i with Apple Composite AV Cable. The iphone4 can record in HD and encode with the latest h.264 but the video out thru the 30 pin is still lower resolution
sorry for the long winded response

  • Apple tv/streaming

I have an ipad, iphone, imac and considering buying Apple tv but I want to make sure it's what I need. Can I stream from any of these devices with anything to the apple tv?  If I am watching hulu on my ipad, can I stream to my tv via apple tv.  In other words, if I am watching a hulu or hbogo program, will it stream from my ipad or mac?  Also interested in getting speakers that are both blue tooth and can be connected to Apple TV.  Any advice much appreciated.

Only iPad 2 and iPhone4S support mirroring of the screen on AppleTV (I have neither currently so can't confirm everythiung can be seen on AppleTV - some stuff may be protected and prevent transmission).
A different technology allows streaming to AppleTV called Airplay.  Apps must be enabled for this on iPad, iPhone or it won't work.  Same for websites - although the browser can Airplay, unless the site allows it, it won't work.
Airplay/Mirroring from standard applications on a Mac is not currently possible.
Airplay is available from iTunes for compatible content.
In summary, I don't think it'll do everything you want.

    hi,
i bought a nokia 5800 US version unlocked mobile handset 10 months back. now i am using indian BSNL 3G SIM in india. my mobile handset is not detecting the bsnl 3G signal. from bsnl people i understand that their technology is 3.5G HSDPA 2100. according to gsmarena the US version supports "HSDPA 850 / 1900". is there a way to make it work with the bsnl 3G network?
voice calls, SMS and web browsing working.
Video calls, TV, etc... not working.
my mobile set has firmware version 51.2.007.263.04 date: 22-07-2010
    RM - 428
updating the firmware with indian version firmware, will it help in solving the problem?
    thanks and regards,
    RiVi...
