IPhone4 upgrade to 4.3 - phone now frozen not recognised in iTunes or on PC
Hi
I've just attempted upgrading my iPhone to 4.3 but all I get now is the 'USB connect to iTunes' graphic on the iPhone screen.
My phone is not recognised in iTunes or on my PCs My Computer, although the PC does recognise the phone as new hardware describing it as Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)
I started the process by syncing the iPhone to iTunes, then downloaded 10.2.1.1 then the 4.3 upgrade. This was all managed by prompts in iTunes. I left it for half an hour to do the upgrade and when I got back it was asking to reboot my PC (running Windows XP). I'm guessing it hadn't completed the iTunes upgrade before asking to upgrade the iPhone.
I've tried a reset but all I get is the apple logo followed by the connect to iTunes logo.
I've not had a problem with any previous upgrades.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ipod frozen - not recognised in ITunes 9 after being restored
Hi, my ipod 160gb (14 months old) did the following:
I upgraded ipod software then had a ipod freezing problem. I connected to Itunes in disk mode to resolve it(to get it recognised in source list), then had to upgrade to ITunes 9 which I did. Then I restored the Ipod which seemed to work. After restore the language screen came up followed by 'Connected' 'Eject before disconnecting'. This is fine except that the Ipod never appeared in ITunes. Subsequently removed Ipod which went back to being frozen on the Apple Logo. I tried to reformat through windows but does not work. HELP - the 160 gb is an expensive piece of kit and I dont really want to have to buy a new one every year because of bugs/hardware problems....I had this problem with the new 160gb Ipod. I had to format it through windows, then Itunes recognized it.

You can't downgrade the iOS on the iPad.
Quit iTunes, reboot the Mac and reboot the iPad and then try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
My phone has been set up previously for itunes on my lap top but my phone now shows the connect to itunes message even though the phone is connected....Ive tried every thing I can think of ...now I cant use my phone ..please help ?
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo. -

This is my first post so if I've made any mistakes please forgive me. I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8.1 Professional however, now my iPad and iPhone are not recognised in iTunes. Plug your Ipad USB cable into USB port.
Go to your Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, then click Device Manager.
Click on Portable Devices, and you should see Apple Ipad shown (or whatever apple device your using).
Right-click the Apple Device your using, and choose Update Driver Software..
Click "Browse my computer for driver software."
Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Click the Have Disk button. (If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.)
In the "Install from Disk" dialog, click the Browse button.
Use this window to navigate to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
Click OK in the "Install from Disk" dialog.
Click Next and finish the driver-installation steps. Open iTunes to verify that the device is recognized properly. -
80GB Classic iPod now not recognised by iTunes
All used to be OK but suddenly my 80 GB Classic iPod although being recognised by my PC is not recognised by iTunes. Sometimes a message comes up saying this, sometimes not. Have now updated to latest iTunes but no better. My old shuffle iPod is recognised OK. Help please, though I know there has been a lot of traffic on this subject.
This is typical of an iPod corrupted database.
Your iPod, as a hard drive is still recognized by Windows, but it's not identified as an iPod by iTunes.

I have the same problem. ITunes boots up just fine, I can access all my stuff, but when I click on the ITunes store, all my computer says it that iTunes has stopped working- and that Windows will notify me if a solution is available. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and also run computer diagnostics and compatibility tests between my computer and iTunes. It give me no error code at all.
I've tried to get into the store through menu options as well- like trying to access my account- but anything that has to do with accessing the store shuts the whole program down. -

Oh you got to love how customer service tell's me,nothing they can do The 1 yrs warrenty is over. Wait I signed a 2yr contract. One year three months and phone shuts off when you plug charger in it. Motorola did upgrades and since then phone hasn't been right,and verizon knows this and isn't doing a thing. So verizon agent says I have to purchase new phone at full price. Umm no, not when its the fault of the upgrades. So when phone battery dies and I don't have cell phone to use, I'm not paying for service on a phone that's dead. If anyone else is having a problem just be ware they do know but there only solution is to buy new cell. So glad I've been loyal customer to get treated like crap.
You need to have it checked out by apple or a apple service provider. Have you tried to reset the SMC (System Management Controller) and/or PRAM (Parameter Random Access Memory). Mac OS X: What's stored in PRAM?
