What happens when you try? Error message?
Have you synced apps from that computer/iTunes library? You can only sync apps from your one syncing computer.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store" when using WiFi and Cisco VPN

    hi
I'm on iPhone software 2.0 and have a connection to the internet via WiFi and VPN (using the integrated Cisco client). Everything works fine (Safari, Mail, mobileme push of contacts and calendars) but the iTunes Store and the App Store won't. While the App Store keeps spinning the iTunes Store says "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store". Has anyone else experienced a similar phenomenon?
    thanks

We're having the same issue. App Store and iTunes do not work when all traffic is tunneled over VPN. Yet, other applications like Safari, New York Times reader, Telnet, etc... work perfectly fine over VPN. If we have the iPhone switch over to using split tunneling VPN mode, then the App Store and iTunes work since they do not appear to be sending traffic over the VPN tunnel. I can say for certain that no outgoing traffic is being blocked on the VPN servers since I administer those servers. I also did a packet capture on the iPhone wireless session and it appears that the App Store sends traffic over the regular HTTP port. So it really doesn't make any sense from a VPN perspective why Safari would work but not the App Store or iTunes when you're tunneling all traffic over VPN. Our iPhones are using the latest firmware (5F136). If anyone has any update, please do share.

  • Does iPhone4 (Verizon) automatically DISABLE 3G when in WiFi?

I know that when in WiFi, the iPhone4 will prefer / use the WiFi network instead of the 3G network.  However, my question is whether the iPhone automatically disables the 3G radio when in WiFi.  I have unlimited 3G data, but WiFi is faster and is also better on the battery, so when I am in WiFi I prefer to use it instead of 3G.  I want 3G disabled while I am in WiFi to save battery.  Of course, I can manually go in, enable WiFi and disable 3G, but I have noticed that when my iPhone connects to WiFi, the WiFi antenna symbol replaces the 3G symbol next to the Verizon bars.  This makes me wonder if the iPhone is actually turning off 3G automatically when it connects to WiFi versus just preferring WiFi but still having the 3G radio on.
    Thanks!

Perhaps I didn't phrase the question exactly right.  I can go into Settings and disable 3G (actually on the Vz iPhone it is Disable Cellular Data), which leaves voice connectivity but no ablity to get 3G data, and helps preserve battery.  When I am in WiFi, does the iPhone automatically disable Cellular Data or does this still have to done manually?  Thanks!

  • IPhone4 say 'cannot connect itunes store' when downloading updates

I have tried updating my apps, it enter the password which it accepts, the apps then show the loading bars on the bottom of the icons, about 5 secs later i get a pop up notification saying 'cannot connect to iTunes store'.
I have tried updating via iTunes on my Macbook Pro too, it says 76 app updates available. However, when i click update 76 apps it then says 'No updates are available, to check for updates with another Apple ID please sign in with that Apple ID.
I know the apps are related to the ID i am signed in as becasue i right click them and go to 'get info' and they are associated with the account im signed in as.
This is very frustrating!! Any help appreciated!

Here's Apple's knowledge base article on this subject.  Hope it helps.

  • Cant see my iPod in Itunes and cant connect to store

When I open my iTunes my iPod touch dosnt appear under Devices. It is fine when I plug in my iPod Nano (it recognises that no problem). Also when I try to connect to the iTunes store it comes up "the network connection was refused.Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again".
I have turned off my Firewalls and I have allowed access in my Macafee before trying it again but to no avail. I have tried it on my friends PC and it worked perfectly. I have uninstalled and installed the 7.5 version of iTunes umpteen times but still nothing.
Please someone help me.I have paid £199 for something that dosnt want to play !!!

I forgot to mention that i have tried everything on the apple website and nothing works.

  • I cant connect my ipad to work wifi, but my iphone 4s does

My iphone 4s connected to my work wifi without any issues at all. However, when I try the same thing with my IPAD3 using exactly the same case sensitive password, the following box pops up....."Unable to join the network uklonguest".
Any suggestions why one apple device connects without any issues, yet my IPAD can't manage it?
    Regards

also, the 'unable to join' error message is frequently a password issue.  'Forget' the network, then start again from scratch, and be real careful with case as you input the password.
The advice to check with your IT group is real good advice.  I worked in a place where pads were speciofically blocked, but other devices were ok.  (I think they assumed any other device would be a company sponsored bberry.  Bad assumption)

  • New to imac.....cant connect to to my home wifi

just start using imac but when set up the wifi network, it cannot show my home's wifi on the list, even when i type the network name and password, it also showed no network found. But the imac can search my iphone hotspot and connected it.
While my home wifi is able to connect to ipone, ipod, psp and other PCs, will it be any problem with my imac, or will i need to set up anythings for this Or is my router not support imac?

i am using 10.7.2 (lion) I juz received my imac yesterday...my wifi router is next to my room.. after trying for couple hours, it finally connected to my home wifi....so is it something related to the hardware of imac or juz the software problem?
It is tough to tell, it most likely is software related but impossible to tell. If you live in an suburban area that that has lots of wi-fi networks in the area there could be a channel conflict, it could be the DNS settings your ISP uses, or it can be the modem and/router are old and out of date, and the list goes on.
If it is still currently connected then leave it alone, if the problem comes back I already provided one solution in my first post. If those don't work then post back and we can try other items.

  • Cannot connect to internet when both wifi & cellular data are activated

I have setup a wifi network in my office to allow all my Apple devices to wirelessly communicate with each other. I purposely setup the wifi hub without Internet access: the sole purpose of the hub is to project data from various iPad's and iPhone's onto my Apple TV. This has worked flawlessly.
I receive a strong Verizon signal in my office which allows me to access the web on my wifi+3G iPad2.
Here is the problem: when I'm connected to both the cellular network and the wifi router (that does not have Internet access), I can no longer search the web. My belief is that even though I have a strong Verizon data signal, the iPad purposely switches over to wifi to access data, continuously searching for an Internet connection that isn't there.
Does anyone have a solution to this? Is there a way to override the iPad so it pulls data from the cellular network first, then from wifi? Please note that I do not have the ability to establish an Internet connection through the wifi router--only via the cellular network.
The goal is to be able to surf the web on the iPad using the Verizon network, and project what I'm viewing onto the Apple TV using the wireless hub. I can execute both actions separately, but not simultaneously.

The iPad uses wifi first for connection. If wifi is not available, it switches to cellular. I know of no way to reverse the connection. You'll have to make your connections manually each time. If you want to use cellular first, turn wifi Off.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Not connecting to 3G when leaving wifi coverage area

When I leave the home wifi coverage area, the 4S does not switch to 3G. I have to restart the device.

That's the difference, the Service Books.
I am assuming the working device was either activated in the US and got the Service Books in that way, and are still active. Is one of the Service Books a [provisoning] entry?
Either way, it is my experience that you will need activation on the device(s) for 3G service. That means having an active BIS account connected.
Besides, as pertains to 3G, without the BlackBerry Data Plan, there's really no need for the 3G service. You won't have any data services to the device, save some TCP/APN connection, without the proper data plan provisioned to the SIM in the device.

  • Acquired apple id. new iphone4. cant connect to internet?

purchased iphone4. Acquired Apple ID. Why can't I connect to the internet?

    Corben:
You really need to provide more information. We are just other users in these forums and not mind readers.
Are you new to the iPhone and using Apple products? Are you syncing the iPhone to your computer and is it a Mac or a Windows machine? What version IOS is on the iPhone? Do you have WIFI turned on and are you in a WIFI area?
The more information you supply, the more of a chance we can help you solve the problem.
Acquiring an Apple ID has nothing to do with your phone's ability to connect to the internet.
