IPhone4S Factory Unlocked Activate Prob ?

Hey,
i have an iphone factory unlocked from france Model n° MD239F/A when i connected to activate via iTunes it asked me the original sim card cause mine doesn't support for this activation so i tried all of france Sims and i find that it locked ( or opened ) using Bouygues Telecom ? but not activiated it like bypass the activation step. and after it opened i tried to put my card sim it told me activation required ?
Does any one know why is that ?

You are using an iPhone on a non-supported network. A number of items supported with an iPhone on AT&T's network are not supported with an iPhone under T-Mobile's network regardless if this worked previously.

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?
Most likely your iPhone was not properly unlocked and is now
relocked to AT&T. You must work with AT&T to get it unlocked.
Depending on what method was used to unlock the iPhone previously,
a legitimate unlock from AT&T may not complete successfully.

Is my iphone4 factory unlocked and will it work after i restore it??

i bought an iphone4 from the US,i am using it in India now. the retailer said it is a factory unlocked iphone. i did not jailbreak or unlock it , i even upgraded the phone to 4.3.3. and it is working fine. will it work if i restore it and is it factory unlocked ??

Certainly sounds like an unlocked phone, mine is so I should know. If it was originally from the US it should relock to AT&T but if it is not who is going to complain!

I have Iphone4 Factory-unlock from Etisalat (Dubai-UAE) and when trying to upgrade my IOS to 4.3.3 it always gives me error -3259 (err=-3259), any help. (F.I: My current IOS4.3 and Itunes 10.2 are all orginal from Apple)

As mentioned, i bought this phone from Etisalat (Dubai-UAE based operator) and i never face a issue perviously on updating an IOS, this time after downloading IOS 4.3.3 I always get a error (it says Network issue) with Number Err= -3259 and never lets me update the IOS on my Iphone 4. My Iphone is completly original (Meaning, not jail breaked) and its using Itunes 10.2.2. The reason i want to update is becuase after updating the current installed IOS (4.3.2) the battery life is really bad and when i want to restore my Iphone4, it wants to download the updated IOS software (4.3.3) and when trying to update its gives me error all the time and does not let me update or install it.
Any help and update on how to fix this issue.

You would have to ask your carrier.
ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it. Only that carrier can tell you if they will unlock it.

What do you mean by Factory unlock ?
Unlocked iPhones are either sold by Apple with no carrier lock or the original carrier has agreed to unlock the iPhone from their network

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

Oh those Canadians, you just have to take what they say with a grain of salt.
The warranty on the iPhone, contract or not, is not world wide. If something happens to your iPhone I seriously doubt wherever you are in Europe that they stock Canadian unlocked iPhones. Worse, if you take it to an Apple Store in a country where the iPhone is locked then they can only replace it with a locked iPhone from their supply of replacement phones. If it is with a different cell provider than you use well, that's just too bad.
You would either need to return to Canada for service or send it to someone there who can take it in for you.

The ONLY way to get any carrier locked iPhone officially unlocked is through the carrier the phone is locked to. There is no other way to get an iPhone officially unlocked. So, contact the carrier your phone is locked to to see if they offer unlocking & what the cost/procedure is. If they don't offer unlocking or you don't qualify, then there is no way to get your phone officially unlocked.

Second, you did NOT purchase an unlocked 4S in the US. The brick and mortal Apple stores do not yet have them in stock. They can only be ordered online and have not yet been readied for delivery.
What you likely purchased was a contract-free iPhone, which is NOT unlocked. Your fiancee will NOT be able to activate that phone.

I bought my phone from a retailer in New Zealand called 1-day, they were selling refurbised iphones that are factory unlocked.
By the box it would appear that it is from AT&T in america and so should be a proper factory unlock as from researching how to fix my phone i noticed that they do unlock there phones.
Itunes told me that i could update my phone so i decided to because i figured why not, I now get the seemingly common screen when i try to activate telling me that the activation server is down.
I have already sent an email to the retailer asking them about this but i figured i should try asking the community as well.

Sounds like the reseller a) is not an authorized reseller, and b) lied.
Get your money back and buy from a legitimate source.

Factory-unlocked iPhone 4 will not activate

I bought iPhone 4 (Factory-unlocked) from Australia and brought back to Japan.
I tried to activate the phone first time and it asks me to insert SIM.
So I inserted the trimmed SIM (Japanese). But the iTunes says "The SIM card inserted is not supported."
However, the trimmed SIM with proper adopter works fine with Japanese phone.
I tried this with many other SIM in Japan but failed to activate iPhone 4.
I also called up Apple in Australia and gave them the IMEI number to confirm the phone.
They confirmed that the phone is proper and factory-unlocked one from Apple.
I also bought the so-called "Activation SIM" and tried activation with this SIM.
This time, it let me sync with my iTunes successfully but cannot get any cellphone signal obviously.
Now, I can see menu and contents on the phone but it keeps shows "Waiting for activation".
So I changed the SIM to Japanese SIM but again, it does not activate nor sync to iTunes.
Could someone help?

Hi I am too living in Japan and bought an iPhone 4 back from Australia in September. I had activated it using a Jailbreak app, activation successful.
Now the problem, you are NOT able to use an iPhone in Japan that is not officially documented from Softbank. This means that Softbank has every IMEI number of each iPhone to be used in their system. When roaming, in Japan let’s say with an AT&T iPhone from the USA, this will work, because the system recognizes that it is a foreign number in the system and then applies the roaming charges to your Home Counties account. I had to go and pay an RF test registration fee to have my iPhone IMEI number placed on a list that Softbank accesses when registering, without the registration fee from the RF test certification company, the number is NOT added to the list… Softbank will then tell you it is NOT allowed to be used in Japan. This cost me more then paying 6 months of subscription and services if I had just opened a new account and contract with Softbank for a new Japanese iPhone 4.
