IPhone4S videos & Trash password

Two problems I can't solve. I hope someone has the solution.
I recently switched from an iPhone 4 to a 4S. Now the videos I shoot won't show up in QuickTime on my iMac: a black screen and no audio, although the counter works. When I check Preview in Finder the video is visible and has audio.
Since a few weeks I need to fill in my password every time I want to put something in the Trash.
I'm up to date with all installed software.
If anyone can help me solve these issues I would be very happy.

Many videos on the web use Flash which the iPod and other iOS devices do not support. For YouTube videos use the YouTube app since that uses videos that have been converted to a format the iPod can play.

You need an app for that. Apple's iMovie app (for iPhone and iPad) does that just fine, but there may be others.

Iphone4 video output via composite av cable

Hi, this questions probably been asked loads of times but I haven't found an answer , hence , can someone please tell me how to switch on video out on iPhone 4 on 5.1 , I bought composite cable but no video just audio . Can any1 out there help. Thank you

iphone4 and composite and component cable don't support mirror so they
only display images when an supported app is being used like youtube or the video app and the likes
use both the composite and the component cable with my iphone4 on 5.1 and both works fine
so do my ipod touch with 5.1 and ipad2 with 5.1

Syncing iPhone4S videos to an iPhone4

I have just upgraded my iPhone4 to a 4S.
My wife now has my iPhone4.
How can I get videos taken on my 4S onto the 4? The videos are in iPhoto albums, and show up fine on my 4S - but they don't sync at all onto the 4.
I see no reason why they won't sync. Both phones have the same screen resolution.

iPhone 4 only supports 720p, iPhone 4s shoots 1080p.
You have to down convert it.

If you use iPhoto on your Mac for importing photos from a digital camera and for photo storage and management on your Mac, you can use iPhoto for the import of photos and videos from your iPhone's Camera Roll. If you don't use iPhoto, you can use the Image Capture application located in your Applications folder. When there are photos and/or videos in your iPhone's Camera Roll, your iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer.

ok I tried removing the video I had there so that I could put it in iphoto and then load it. When I removed it from imovie by clicking share>remove from.mac it does not show it is on .mac from imovie but when I go to my gallery it is still there. What do I do now?

Hi there. I am having issues with the Trash. Each time I want to send a document to the bin, a window pops up and asks for my password. The file is then sent to the Trash but when I open it, it is empty! It should not be doing this, right? I should have to empty the Trash before the documents are deleted...Where have they gone and how can I solve this issue? Thank you in advance for you help (hopefully)...

Streaming videos and password prompt problem...

So I have been trying to watch the latest Apple keynote stream from the Quicktime page but every time I try to watch it, it asks me for my University library username and password. Why is it asking me for this stuff? I havent entered the information yet because it seems completely out of place to be asked for it when I want to watch an Apple stream.
I am not currently connected to the University network in any way right now and I havent connected to it in that particular way (proxy server) in a very long time.
I have cleared all of the old proxy settings and I have also tried deleting all of the .plist files for quicktime with no luck.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

Have you tried repairing disk/permissions from your Tiger DVD?

No preview of iphone4 video in project

I have tried to find answer in Discussions for my problem, but with no luck. So I hope you can help me.
Earlier when I have imported videos from my iPhone 4, they were displayed as thumbnails in the project they were imported into.
But somewhere in the last six months they will not be displayed anymore.
I dont know when this happened, but in Des 2010, I changed hard drive in my Macbook pro, and I think maybe it was after I copied the aperture library back into the new drive. Because I had to go through the pictures and reprocess them. All portrait pictures were in landscape mode.
The problem now is that the iPhone Video project shows how many videos I've imported, but does not display them.
This also is the case for new imports made recently. Last time I imported 45 videos, and the only 2 videos which is showing, at all, is video no 6 and 7 of that batch.
In Browser Mode it tells me only 2 movies are available, but no thumbnail showing the video.
In Split View Mode the movie is displayed in the upper window, but not as thumbnail in the lower window. but still only two videos.
In Viewer Mode the video is previewed. but stil only 2 of 262 videos
And when I opened iMovie, iMovie searched and found all 262 movies from Aperture and I can see them in iMovie and edit them there.
But I still would like to have them played and previewed in Aperture.
I have also tried to repair permissions of files in library and to repair Aperture library file. But no change, still no thumbnails.
I have not tried to rebuild library, because I want to know if anyone has experienced this problem and can tell me what or where the problem is.
I thought maybe it was a Aperture 3.1.1 problem, but its still no change after upgraded to latest Aperture 3.1.2.
I use OSX 10.6.7

I have no idea what preview pointer means.
But your not showing 10.6.2 for your machine for one, so if your in Tiger, there is no preview.
If you don't have eye ball in finder window under Finder Title, that's a clue.
Command/Y will preview the highlighted item.
You can't preview folder icon,
so you need to move arrow key to the right to show files, images, documents.
Arrow down the stack of items of the folder while preview is on.
Hopefully I understood your question.

Iphone4 video upside down in FCP

Does anyone else know how to fix this? I flipped all the video, then rendered but it still plays upside down. Should I export it and then bring it back? if so what settings do you suggest that mimic the video quality?

I'm having the same problem...
I import video via image capture or aperture 3. The video plays just fine in quicktime, but when I import to FCP the video is upside down. The only quick solution is to rotate video once it's in the timeline... but sometimes you have to rotate 180 and sometimes 360, doesn't make sense... very annoying. Let me know if you find a fix. thanks.

No. There are several apps that offer this. Search the app store.
