Iphone5 and losing pictures

My previous question regarding iphone5 and missing photos was a bit off. My daughter received an iphone 5 for Christmas, I took her iphone4. After speaking with many Verizon people we thought we transferred my cell number to the 4 without a problem. Until her iphone5 lost contacts and photos. But nothing was linked to her icloud account as I previously stated.
Over an hour with Apple support, who could not restore photos. And Verizon who basically said they are gone. How can that be, when all we did was transfer a cell number to a phone no longer in use. How did it effect the new phone? Is there a way of restoring those photos at all?

Thank you for your reply,your are right about the restoring part, but believe it or not the photos were restored. Thanks to an elementary school computer teacher who told us to: go settings: icloud, go to photo stream and go to my photo stream and make sure it is on. Once she did that, five minutes later the pictures were back.

This can be done without having to sync contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application via the iTunes sync process on each computer.
This can be done over the air with a free iCloud account.

You cannot stream safari to your Apple TV. The music and photo streaming is if you would like to only share photos with your family then you can share specific photos but not your iPhone screen. The same with music you may want to share the music but not mirror your iPhone screen consitantly. To show safari on your apple tv you will have to mirror your device (show everything your doing on your device on your tv). This is done by double pressing the home button and swiping from left to right. It will bring up some controls and their airplay icon. Click this button and choose your Apple TV from the list. Make sure mirroring is ON.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. Hi. Actually you can connect your iPad to the iTunes without erasing the contents which purchased from iTunes Store. I suggest to import your photos taken by iPad to iMac the first time: Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support.
Also you can click to stop syncing to avoid losing some contents.

Can I trash messed up photos in iPhone5s and re-install them from my MacBookPro?

I have a new iPhone5s and somehow my 4000+ photos in my MacBookPro ended up all messed up in my iPhone. Beside a ton of duplications, not all my photos transferred. I'd like to simply delete my photos in iPhone and then re-install all of them corredtly in my iPhone from my MacBookPro. (My iPad too for that matter). Is this possible? I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions so as not to further screw up. Thanks.

iCloud does not come into play for syncing photos to your phone. You use iTunes to do that.
Foret spend some time organizing your photos on your MacBook Pro. I use iPhoto on my Mac to organize the photos I might want on my iPad and iPhone. Create albums in iPhoto and sort the pictures into albums.
Then start iTunes 11.1 or later on your MacBook Pro. Connect your iPhone. It should soon be recognized in iTunes. Select your iPhone in iTunes. A row of tabs will appear. They include General or Summary, Musoc, apps, photos among others. In each tab you can choose to sync certain items. In the Photos tab you have the choice to select to sync all photos from iPhoto or to select only certain albums to sync. Select those albums you want on the iPhone. You can do the same thing under some of the other tabs as well as share documents to/from your iPhone. I think the users guide will explain this further.
Once you have the photo albums selected click on Apply. The selected albums will remain in iPhoto on your MacBook Pro but they will also be copied to the Photos app on your iPhone.
If some time down the road you want to add more albums to your phone repeat this process. Those albums that were synced the foret time must remain selected in order for them to remain on your phone. If when syncing in the future you deselect an album it will be deleted from your phone so keep that in mind.

Write off the MS stuff as indicators for now--starting with Office 2008, they developed very long launch times. The time to launch 2008 on my old 1.25Ghz G4 and my MBP 2.2G are virtually the same. Even document opens/saves are slow compared to Office 2004 and earlier.
1) You have adequate hard drive space so that eliminates one of the usual suspects.
2) Check for runaway background processes. Quit all running user applications so the computer is at normal idle. Find Activity Monitor in Applications > Utilities and launch it. If you've not run it before, change the "Show" pulldown at the top of the AM window from its default of "User Processes" to "All Processes." There is a column for "%CPU." Click that column header to sort by CPU usage. Watch the processes "bubble" for about a minute to get a better picture of the usage.
If any process is using more than about 25 percent of the CPU cycles while the computer is idling, post the names of the processes and we can see if they can be eliminated. My MBP shows nothing using more that about 5 percent on any given test run as long as I close all my user apps.
3) If you have never done any sort of maintenance procedures, taht can slow you down. Simply restarting the computer a few times a week clear a lot of temporary files. You also may wish to review this article on the Mac OSX periodic maintenance scripts, which, if run, also do a lot of cleanup:

When you hook it up to your comptuer, can your computer 'see' it? As in does a dialogue box pop up when you connect it via USB to your computer? If not, double click on 'my computer' and see if you see it listed under all your harddrives/etc.
If so, navigate to the iPod and double click on the DCIM folder. You should eventually see a folder (s) of the photos/videos your device has taken. You can drag then off there and onto your computer and then go on with the restore.
If your computer doesn't see the device however, you may be out of luck.

Losing picture

Ihave BT Infinity with new vision box, signed up for bt sport. Everything ok except that i get an intyermittent fault of losing picture in bursts of a few seconds when watching any channel on the vision box. Called help desk today and not much help claims it is being caused by work on the transmitter at Sutton Coldfield and he would send me an e-mail with link re transmitter. Still waiting for e-mail. Anyone else experiencing problems and how do i solve it.

Okay... big sigh of relief on my part. Files as e-mailed show a difference of only 51,299 bytes. (I.e., original file was 2.64 MBs while iPod file was 2.59 MBs -- or less than 2% difference.) For the moment, I am considering this simply the product of "QuickTiming" (shifting the "Camera RGB" color space to "ColorSync" monitor profile and saving the result in QT file format). I could not find any significant differences in the files when both were viewed in the same color space in PhotoShop other than a slight shift in levels likely do to my running a lowered brightness calibration setting for the darkened "dungeon" area where I do my work. Files were definitely NOT recompressed nor rescaled when placed on the iPod. Don't see that this should present any critical problems for professionals, "prosumers," or serious amateurs who are used to using profiles for various color spaces.

I want to keep the music and videos I purchased. Since it is an iPod classic (80GB) I cannot even use the iCloud. Is there a way to move my ipod's music so I can reformat it to my pc?

WIndows is asking you to reformat the iPod's hard disk because it's probably in the Mac OS X Extended Journaled file system format which the Windows OS can neither read or write to. Reformatting will erase all content from the device and rebuild the filesystem as FAT32 unless you specify it as NTFS (which you shouldn't do).
If you want to be able to use your iPod to copy music from your Mac to your PC, you'll need to either pre-format it as FAT32 using Disk Utility on your Mac and then copy everything over to your PC, or use third party software such as XPlay that allows a Windows PC to read and write to a Mac formatted iPod.
