I lost all my contacts on my iphone5 and found them on my ipad. Please help me how to return them to my iphone5.

I assume you are using iCloud.
On the iPhone 5: Settings > iCloud > Turn contacts off
Then turn contacts back on

Recently I bought 2 iphones one for me and the other for my wife. I was an iphone4 user, so I restored everything from my iphone4 to iphone5 via itunes. At the same time, I also restored my iphone4 information to my wife iphone5. Then I renamed her iphone5 in a different name. She then deleted her contact list in her iphone5, but everything she did was synced on my iphone5 automatically. Simply, my iphone5 contact list was deleted.
How can I maintain 2 different lists on 2 different iphones?

Set up different iCloud accounts with different IDs on each phone to keep you contacts and other iCloud data separate. Continue to share the same ID on both phones for iTunes and App stores (it does not need to be the same ID as the one used for iCloud.)

You mean you synced your contacts to iCloud? Backing up to iCloud and syncing data with iCloud are two different things.
If you mean you synced your contacts with iCloud and they don't appear on icloud.com, open your contacts and tap Groups. Do you have any contacts that belong to a non-iCoud account such as Gmail, Yahoo, an exchange account or On My iPhone?
Also go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section). Do you have the default account setting, and if so, what is set as your default account?

I have a 2013 BMW. My iphone 5 will pair just fine, but the contacts will not transfer. I spent about 2 hours at the dealer where they tested their tech's iphone 5's -- all transferred no problem. Took the phone to Apple, got a new phone. That one worked for about 3 weeks and now it won't transfer. AM SO FRUSTRATED. I've re-set my phone, unpaired and repaired my phone...I've done everything possible. Can't figure out what the problem is. Any one else having this issue?

I've got a BMW 318 2009 (September) and iPhone 5 on Vodafone UK.
I actually suspect now that the issue is to do with the number of contacts I have, mostly generated from the Microsoft Exchange Suggested Contacts list which I've noticed results in me having over 1200 contacts in total.
I'm doing a test later in the car as I've now disabled the extra suggested contacts so they're not syncing onto my phone. Hopefully my guess is correct - I've now only got 850 contacts so I think there's more chance it will cope and sync them all to the BMW.
I'll let you know how I get on though!

Hello all..!
I added a new contact to my iPhone 5, and after a day or two tried to find it from contacts. Resolt? NOWHERE..!!
I made all steps, before i write this question here. Tried almost(!) every help i found at sites. but didn't work.
Finally, I deleted the contact from my iPhone5, and added it at first at contacts. I made sync, and the new contact came to my phone..!
Please, what is wrong..??? This anomaly drives me crazy..!
iPhone5 --> Contacts (iMac) does not work.
Contacts (iMac) --> iPhone5 works..!
PS. Before "Mavericks" was Mountain Lion, without problem...

Well not sure about anyone else but finally spoke with "support" today.
First call I made I was told if I paid $79.00 I would receive assistance for a year.
They could fix my problem through my pc.
Well not paying.
Phone 1-800-APPLE and was told that because didn't pay for call display through
my provider it isn't going to work for me.
Seems they don't advise you of that when you are making a decision on buying a phone.
They at least could have put a *note saying function only works under specific conditions.
I would have checked that out first thing.
Lesson learned I guess. Now my provider supplies that option free for new plans but won't
apply it to mine. So much for customer service. This all within a couple of months.
Now if anyone has any information that would change what I was told please let me know.

Check if you have 10 Devices registered.
If you have, you need to delete one of them to add your new Smart Phone to Exchange for synching

The bluetooth system must support the PBAP bluetooth profile. If it does, transfer is automatic when the connection is made. If it does not, you can not transfer them. Check the manual for the system to see if it supports PBAP. If it does not, contact your dealer to see if an update is available.
