  • Screen Froze While Updating

At first i couldn't put apps on my iPod so my friend and i started an update on her computer. Then the screen froze while updating. (screen has the apple sign with a loading like bar under it) So we let it go for a couple hours and it still didn't do anything. We unplugged the iPod and it wouldn't turn off! So i let it die and i tried restoring it at my house and i thought it would work but it did not. It had the same screen as when i was updating it and i've about had it. So please, if you have any suggestions, tell me please!!!

  • My ipad froze while updating cant turn off, any suggestions

my ipad froze during update. cant turn off. any suggestions?

If you're sure that the update isn't still happening then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My iphone5 has froze while updating IOS 8.1.2

Can't  do anything with my phone since it started updating as froze any advice would be grateful

When you say updating, has it already reached the stage where the screen goes black/white with the apple logo and a loading bar?
That would help a lot, thanks.

  • IPad Mini froze while updating to iOs 8.1

My wife's 32 gig iPad Mini was still on iOS 6 (6.1.6) It had automatically downloaded 8.1 and we tried to install it. The progress bar showed it was about 2 - 3 mm from the end when it froze. I tried attaching it to her computer while holding down the home button to put it into recovery mode and received an error message that  its locked with a passcode that has to be unlocked on the iPad before it will recognise it. Obviously this can't happen as its frozen.
Is there any way of getting around this?  (There is about 20 gig of spare space on the device.)

I'll give you something else for the near future ... it's doing a clean system install and it's a good way to get rid of any possible corrupted files in your system. This can also be for troubleshooting a particularly difficult problem.
Follow this procedure for a Troubleshooting Methodology ... basically reset to factory default condition -BUT- be sure to do the following methodically and also to follow the part with Apple Support!
First you want to make sure you have several backups of your data and done with a couple of "different" sources. Be sure to understand what data is backed up and what is NOT on iCloud Backup and iTunes Backup. Use a variety of methods for backup ... you might check into Dropbox, in addition to your Apple options.
Then turn off your desktop anti-virus software when using iTunes for this reset to factory default. After you do that reset, then leave your iPad in its factory default state and see how it operates then. If you encounter any problems in that factory default state, then take it to Apple Support, and let them know that you have just reset it to that state with iTunes and have not put any of your data back on and it is operating in this fashion (whatever the problem is) in that pristine state. Make sure you keep that trouble ticket number, because if it has to be escalated through Apple Support, you're going to find all communications tied in with that number. If the lower level help isn't able to help you, then escalate it to a higher level to examine the problem. Keep at it with that trouble ticket number until Apple Support arrives at a solution to that problem. Be methodical and keep at it.
On the other hand, if everything is okay with the factory default condition, then restore your backup. Some people have discovered that the problem resides in the apps or something in the restored backup. If that's the case, then it's going to be trying and difficult to find out which developer's app is causing you the problem. And ... it's true ... that a developer not following Apple's instructions and guidelines for his app can CAUSE YOU TROUBLE. This kind of thing does happen from developers, especially when a new system upgrade comes out, because some developers ignore what Apple tells them about changes coming, and what they do BREAKS SOMETHING.
This is a troubleshooting methodology that you are going through. See it through to the end.

  • My iPod touch froze while updating to iOS 6 over wifi, what do i do?

I started updating my ipod to iOS 6 over wifi, and it just froze part of the way in to the update, and I am unable to connect to my iTunes account right now.

Looks like you need to put your device into DFU mode:
To put the device in DFU mode, connect the device to iTunes and hold both the power button and the home button down, after 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed until it goes into DFU mode. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.
    I hope that helps.

  • Computer froze while updating. iTunes has disappeared

I was updating my iTunes when my computer froze and now my iTunes has been deleted and I can no longer reinstall. I have tried to download iTunes in the most updated version, but I cannot actually proceed with the download. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I have tried rebooting my computer. I have also looked in the Control Panel to see if the program was there, and it's as if the program has completely vanished from my computer. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

i assume your computer froze during the update operation, leaving your installation in a unstable state. after restart you are not able to access anything. if that is the case, i think the best option is to use a arch installation disk/usb to boot and finish the update.
    1. create a bootable meadia - cd/usb and boot using that
    2. mount the partitions
    3. arch-chroot to the mounted root partition
    4. run pacman -Syu
if the above is not the case, please give more details.
    thanks

  • My apps have all froze while updating, how do I fix this?

Ive had a weak wifi connection while I was trying to update my apps.  They have frozen and are unable to open

If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
    6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.
